Hallo meine lieben Bastelfreunde ;o)

Heute mal eine nicht-niedliche Karte von mir... Ich habe sie für die aktuelle PINspirational Challenge gewerkelt und denke, dass sie sich ganz gut als Männerkarte eignen würde. Was meint ihr? Das hier ist übrigens das neue Inspirationsbild, sieht lecker aus, oder?

Today I'd like to share a non-cute card with you... I made them for the newest PINspirational challenge and thought it would make a good male card. What do you think? Anyways, this is the inspiration picture, looks yummy, doesn't it?

Als erstes habe ich die Stanzen grob mit einem Bleistift umkreist und anschließend die Flächen mit Wasserfarben  angemalt, wobei ich immer unten links die meiste Farbe aufgetragen habe. Auf die Weise hab ich schnell und einfach den Schatteneffekt bekommen und mit der Wasserfarbe außerdem viel Textur. Zusätzlich habe ich noch einen Kreis mit Wellenrand aus Glitzercardstock ausgestanzt.

I started by tracing around the ice cream dies and colouring each area with watercolours, making sure to put more colour down towards the bottom left of each piece. That way I got a really quick and easy shading and also a lot of texture. I also die cut a scalloped circle from a very glittery cardstock.

Nachdem ich alles aufgeklebt hatte, habe ich den Spruch in zwei Schritten dazu gestempelt. Als erstes habe ich nur das Wort "coolest" in blau gestempelt - das führt dazu, dass das Auge von dem blauen Eis zu dem Schriftzug geleitet wird - und im zweiten Schritt habe ich dann den Rest in schwar gestempelt. Wenn ich an Eis denke, dann kommen mir auch immer direkt Streusel in den Kopf, aber ich wollte den Stanzteilen nichts mehr hinzufügen, weil sie mir so wirklich gut gefallen, also habe ich die Streusel einfach als Punkte auf der ganzen restlichen Karte verteilt. Once I had adhered everything down I added the stampin in two steps. First I only stamped the word "coolest" in blue - that drags the eye from the blue ice cream across to the sentiment I think - and then added the rest in black. When I think of ice cream I also think of sprinkles, but I didn't want to add them to the die cuts, so I added them around the circle using all kinds of enamel, glitter and dew drops ;o) Our kind sponsors for this challenge are "Lemon Shortbread" and "Imagine That", so you'll have two chances to win! Christmas Series Card #24 / Weihnachtsserie Karte #24 (Frohe Weihnachten)

Frohe Weihnachten!
Ich wünsche euch von Herzen ein wunderschönes Weihnachtsfest im Kreise eurer Lieben, eine besinnliche, freudige, aufregende, entspannende, fröhliche Zeit und alles Liebe! Als ich im August (!) meine ersten Weihnachtskarten geplant habe, war der heutige Tag gedanklich noch sehr weit weg, aber heute ist es soweit und ich zeige euch die letzte Karte meiner zweiten Weihnachtsserie... Ein letztes Mal möchte ich euch daher an mein Gewinnspiel erinnern, bei dem es einen Gutschein über 25 Dollar für einen Bastelshop eurer Wahl zu ergattern gibt. Nun aber zu meiner Karte:

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I would like to wish you a wonderful Christmas amongst those near to your heart, a quiet, happy, relaxing, exciting merry time together and all the very best! When I started planning for my first Christmas cards back in August (!) Christmas seemed so very far away, but today is the day I am showing you the last card of my second Christmas series... One last time I would like to remind you, that I have a giveaway for a $25 gift certificate to a crafty online store of your choice. But now, lets have a look at the card:

Um die schöne Struktur auf dem grünen Papier zu erhalten, habe ich einen Embossingfolder benutzt und dann hab ich alle Beeren rot übergetupft. Als nächstes habe ich die süßen Motive von Purple Onion Designs plus einen Ilix gestempelt. Coloriert habe ich mit Distress Inks. Nachdem alle Motive trocken waren, habe ich sie ausgeschnitten.

I used an embossing folder to create a nice texture on the green panel I had die cut previously and coloured all the berries red. Next I stamped the cute images by Purple Onion Designs and a holly berry from a Lawn Fawn set. I used Distress Inks to colour them in and after they dried I fussy cut them out.

Anschließend habe ich einen Kreis aus rotem Cardstock ausgestanzt und den Spruch mit Versamark aufgestempelt. Dann weißes Embossingpulver drübergestreut und mich wie immer gefreut, als die Heat Gun ihr Wunderwerk vollbrachte ;o) Nun musste ich nur noch alles an die richtige Stelle kleben (hinter den Kreis und die Köpfe der Tiere habe ich Foamtape geklebt, um mehr Tiefe zu haben) und die Ecken mit dem Corner Chomper abrunden.

Next I die cut a circle from red cardstock, stamped the sentiment and Versamark and white heat embossed it. I don't know about you, but even though I have seen the process happening at leat a hundred times by now, it still amazes me when it goes from powder to a nice smooth finish ;o) All that was left to do now was to assemble everything on the cardbase (I used foam tape behind the circle piece and behind the critters heads to give them the same hight) and to round the top corners with my corner chomper.

Christmas Series Card # 20 / Weihnachtsserie Karte # 20 (Yeti For Christmas?)

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Heute möchte ich euch anlässlich der neuen Challenge bei den Crafty Cardmakers noch einmal eine Karte mit den niedlichen Yetis zeigen. Denn das Thema lautet für die kommenden Woche "Nicht-traditionelle Weihnachten" und da bieten sich die strubbeligen weißen Waldwesen ja geradezu an, oder?

Today I would like to share my inspiration card for the newest Crafty Cardmakers challenge with you. It is a card with one of the Yetis again, but as the new theme is "Non Traditional Christmas" I thought these cute tousled forrest-creatures were just about perfect ;o) What do you think?

Zuerst habe ich einen Rahmen aus weißem Papier ausgestanzt und in diesen dann noch ein rundes Fenster gestanzt und ihn mit einem Embossing Folder von We R Memory Keepers durch die Big Shot geschickt. Ich fand, dass dieses Muster ein wenig an Eisstrukturen erinnert und dachte, es passt gut zu dem Motiv, das ich mir ausgesucht hatte. 

I started by die cutting the scalloped frame from some white paper and die cut a circle window from it as well as send it through my Big Shot with an embossing folder by We R Memory Keepers. I think this pattern looks a lot like an ice structure and so I thought it would work really well with the image I had planned on using.

Ich habe den Yeti auf ein Stück Aquarellpapier gestempelt, das ein wenig größer als die Fensteröffnung ist und habe mit Distress Inks coloriert. Im Netz habe ich viele, wunderbare softe Colorationen mit Distress Innks gesehen, aber ich denke, daran werde ich noch arbeiten müssen. Mein Ergebnis ist eher farbintensiv geworden, aber da ich den Look mag, macht es mir nichts aus, dass es dieses Mal noch nicht so geklappt hat ;o)

I stamped the Yeti on a piece of watercolor paper that was just a bit bigger than the window and coloured it with Distress Inks. I have seen so many pictures of wonderfully soft colourations, but I think I might keep working on that particular look a bit more. I ended up with rather vibrant colours - oh well, I really love how it turned out, so no harm done ;o) 

Als nächstes habe ich um den Yeti noch ein paar Tannen herum gemalt, damit es ausschaut, als würde er auf einer Lichtung stehen. Auf die Tannenspitzen habe ich etwas Weiß gepinselt, damit es so wirkt, als läge dort Schnee. Zusätzlich habe ich noch kleine weiße Punkte als Schneeflocken um den Yeti herum, aber auch direkt auf ihn gemalt, denn wenn es schneien würde, dann ja wohl auch auf ihn, nicht wahr? Nachdem ich die colorierte Szene und den Rahmen auf die Kartenbasis geklebt hatte, habe ich noch den Spruch auf ein rotes Banner embossed und dieses mittig unter dem Fenster mit Abstandshaltern angebracht. Ich hoffe, meine Karte gefällt euch und ihr kreiert auch eine eigene unkonventionelle Weihnachtskarte, um sie mit uns bei den Crafty Cardmakers zu teilen! Habt eine tolle Woche ;o)

Next to the Yeti I drew a few trees, so that it looks like he stands on a clearing, and added some white to the tips of the trees to make it look like snow. I also added some white dots all around him and put some on him as well, because if it was snowing, he would have some flakes in front of him, too. After I glued the coloured piece and the frame to the card base I added a red banner with an embossed sentiment right below the window and a couple of glittery dots to give the white area a bit more interest. Wavin' hello (mermaid)

Heute möchte ich euch eine Karte zeigen, die ich mit dem aktuellen Digi von Gerda Steiners Monatlicher Challenge gemacht habe:

Today I would like to show you the card I have made using the cute image from Gerda Steiner's Progressive Challenge:

Zuerst habe ich ein Stück Aquarellpapier mit dem gewellten Rechteck ausgestanzt und habe dann den jetzt eingefärbten blauen Bereich erst einmal nur ordentlich mit einem Pinsel nass gemacht. Mit Distress Inks (Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch und Salty Ocean) habe ich nach und nach den Bereich eingefärbt. Angefangen habe ich unten mit dem dunkelsten Blauton und bin nach oben hin immer heller geworden.

First I die cut this cute rectangle from some watercolour paper and put some water down with a brush in the area that is now blue. I used Distress Inks (Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean) to colour in the area, going from dark to light.

Als nächstes habe ich ganz normales Kochsalz auf die nasse Stelle gestreut und es darauf gelassen, bis alles trocken war. Das sorgt zum einen für dieses schöne Muster und zum anderen sind ein paar Salzkörner anscheinend in der Farbe eingeschlossen oder dadurch angeklebt worden, auf jeden Fall funkelt es jetzt sogar, wenn man das Papier hin und her dreht. Nun war es an der Zeit die Meerjungfrau und ihre beiden schuppigen Freunde auszudrucken, zu colorieren und auszuschneiden. Ich find die wilden Haare von der Nixe total klasse und habe sie deshalb wahrscheinlich auch rot gemalt - oder vielleicht wurde ich auch von dem bekannten Kinderfilm beeinflusst? Wer weiß ;o) Die beiden Fische habe ich direkt auf das Papier geklebt. Für die Meerjungfrau habe ich aber Abstandshalter benutzt, weil sie so noch mehr zur Geltung kommt, finde ich. Alles was jetzt noch zu tun war, war den Spruch zu stempeln und alles auf die Kartenbasis zu kleben, die ich mit den gleichen Distress Inks wie zuvor im Ombre-Look eingefärbt hatte.

Next I sprinkled on some ordinary cooking salt and let it sit there until the paper was dry again. This gave me a really nice texture in the blue area and also, some of the salt got trapped and it sparkles really nicely. Now it was time to print, colour and fussy cut this cute mermaid and her companions. I love how wild her hair looks, which is probably why I coloured it red - or maybe I was influenced by a famous movie... Who knows ;o) I adhered the fish directly to the panel and used foam tape to give the mermaid a little more interest and dimension. Now all that was left to do was to stamp the sentiment and glue everything on the card base which I had coloured with the same Distress Inks that I had used for the water area.

Heute möchte ich euch meine Inspirationskarte für den Challenge Up Your Life Blog zum Thema Wasserfarben zeigen:

Today I would like to share with you the inspiration card I made for the Challenge Up Your Life blog's newest challenge. This time we would like to see you watercolor creations. 

Als erstes habe ich den Hintergrund auf Aquarellpapier gestaltet. Dazu habe ich Peacock Feathers und Worn Lipstick verdünnt und mit einem Pinsel mit der Wet in Wet Technik aufgetragen. Als die Farbe getrocknet war, habe ich etwas Picket Fence auf einen Acrylblock gedrückt und mit einem trockenen Pinsel Tropfen auf das Papier gewischt. Leider sind die nicht ganz so strahlend geworden, wie ich gehofft habe. Werde es wohl beim nächsten Mal mit einer anderen Farbe versuchen. (Falls jemand von euch einen guten Tipp für mich hat, würde ich mich sehr über einen Kommentar freuen.)

First I created the background on some watercolour paper. I watered down Peacock Feathers and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and used the wet in wet technique to paint them onto the paper. After the ink had dried I put some Picket Fence Paint on an acrylic block and flicked it on the background piece using a brush. Unfortunately it didn't turn out as opaque as I had hoped, so next time I would try a different paint. (If you have a tip for me I would love to read about it in the comments.)

Als nächstes habe ich die Staffelei ausgestanzt und das Einhorn auf die "Leinwand" gestempelt. Coloriert habe ich dieses Mal mit Zig Markern, um das Thema Wasserfarben auch in diesem Element noch einmal aufzugreifen. Mit einem weißen Gelstift habe ich noch ein paar Sterne auf den Hintergrund gepunktet ;o) und anschließend die Wolkenränder ausgestanzt.

Next I die cut the easel and stamped the unicorn on the inside piece. Because this challenge is all about watercolouring I used the Zig markers to colour in the unicorn and the background. With my white gel pen I added some stars to the background and then die cut the cloud borders. 

Das Aquarellpapier habe ich mit starkem, doppelseitigem Klebeband auf die Kartenbasis geklebt, weil es sich ein wenig gewellt hatte und ich aber wollte, dass es ganz glatt aufliegt und dann auch so bleibt. Um den Spruch zu stempeln habe ich mal wieder das MISTI herausgeholt, weil das Papier doch deutlich strukturierter ist, als mein normales Papier. Und dass das eine gute Entscheidung war, hat sich gezeigt, als der erste Abdruck gerade einmal erträglich geworden ist und der zweite dann perfekt geworden ist ;o) Nun blieb nur noch die Wolken und die Staffelei mit Abstandshaltern aufzukleben und die Karte war fertig. Ich hoffe, ihr werdet bei uns mitspielen und uns in den nächsten 2 Wochen eure Wasserfarb-Werke zeigen!

I added the watercolor paper to the card base using some very strong double sided tape, because it had curled a little and I wanted it to lay completely flat. I figured out where I wanted the sentiment to be and used a MISTI to stamp it, because I was afrait it wouldn't stamp correctly because of the rougher texture of watercoloor paper. And I actually had to stamp it twice - so thank you again dear MISTI for saving my card! Now all that was left was to adhere the borders and the easel with foam tape to give the card a little more dimension. Karte zum ersten Geburtstag / First birthday card

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Heute habe ich eine Geburtstagskarte zum 1. Geburtstag für euch. Ganz bewusst habe ich die Karte recht schlicht gehalten und den Löwen kräftiger coloriert, als den Rest, da er der Fokus sein soll.

Today I would like to share a card for a first birthday with you. I kept the design really simple and made sure to colour the lion the most vibrant, because I wanted him to be the focus of the card.

Den Ballon habe ich mit Wasserfarben ganz hell ausgemalt, damit er nicht zu sehr von meinem Fokustier ablenkt. Allerdings wollte ich betonen, dass es sich um einen ersten Geburtstag handelt, also habe ich aus dem Ballon die Ziffer "1" herausgestanzt. Dieses habe ich dann mit Hilfe eines dünnen und mit Kleber versehenen, hinter den Ballon geklebten Stück Papiers wieder an seinen Platz geklebt. Jetzt ist es gut zu erkennen, aber nicht zu aufdringlich.

I coloured the big balloon with watercolours, so that it wouldn't distract from my focal image. However, I wanted to emphasize the fact that it is a card for a one year old, so I die cut the number 1 from the balloon. Instead of poppoing it up or using the negative part though I glued some thin paper to the back and adhered the "1" back into its place. Now you can see it, but it isn't too noticable.

Den Löwen habe ich mit einem "Action Wobbler" auf die Karte aufgebracht, so kann das Geburtstagkind die Karte direkt noch als Spielzeug benutzen ;o)

Für den Hintergrund habe ich - faulerweise - das tolle "Watercolor Wash" Papier von My Favorite Things benutzt. Es passt klasse zu dem Ballon, aber ich musste nicht noch einmal darauf warten, dass alles trocknet, bevor ich es benutzen konnte.

I used the "Watercolor Wash" paper from My Favorite Thingsfor the background, because I was just a teeny tiny bit too lazy to make my own and also too impatient for a new piece to dry. I think it workd really well on this design.

Rainbow Flowers

Diesen Stempel von Neat & Tangled wollte ich schon eine ganze Weile haben und endlich konnte ich ihn in meinem Bastelzimmer willkommen heißen. Als erstes hab ich mir gedacht, dass ich wohl noch warten würde, bis ich ihn benutzte, weil es ein herbstliches Design ist und ich im Sommer (und auch nur, wenn jede Woche ein paar sommerliche Stunden bereit hält) wirklich noch nicht an den Herbst denken möchte. Dann hatte ich die Idee. Ich liebe gerade die Regenbogenfarben und dachte mir, ich könnte ja eine bunte Karte daraus machen:

I had an eye on this particular stamp by Neat & Tangled for ages and finally got it. At first I thought, well this is in autumny stamp, right? So what do I do with it in the summer time? Then it hit me. I wanted to create some rainbow coloured leaves and thus came up with this design:

Das ist eine recht ungewöhnliche Karte für mich, finde ich. Wahrscheinlich, weil ich sonst eher selten so starke Kontraste auf meinen Karten habe, aber hier fand ich den schwarz-weiß gestreiften Hintergrund einfach perfekt zu den knalligen Blättern passend. Zuerst habe ich den Stempel mit Versamark auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt und weiß embossed. Coloriert habe ich dann mit je 2 Zig Markern pro Blatt. Als erstes habe ich die dunkelste Farbe an den Außenkanten der Blattsegmente benutzt, dann habe ich mit dem helleren Stift einen Übergang gemalt und zum Schluss habe ich die Farbe mit einem Wassertankpinsel vermalt.

This is quite a different look for me, because of the bold black an white background I think, but I really love how it turned out. I stamped the image with Versamark Ink on some watercolour paper and white heat embossed it. I used two different Zig markers on each leaf: First I used the darkest one at the edges of each segment, then I blended the ink with a lighter shade and lastly used a water brush to lighten the colour towards the outside of the leaf. (Hope that makes sense...)

Nachdem alles getrocknet war, habe ich das "Happy Birthday" auf den freien Streifen gestempelt, das Motiv per Hand ausgeschnitten und mit Abstandshaltern auf das schwarz-weiße Papier geklebt. Um noch ein wenig Farbe auf die Kartenbasis zu bringen, habe ich Enamel Dots in all den Farben, die ich für die Blätter benutzt habe, herausgesucht und um das Aquarellteil heraum verteilt.

After everything had dried stamped the happy birthday to the white strip and fussy cut the whole image out. Next I adhered it to the patterned paper with some foam tape. To add some interest to the black and white parts of the card I scattered enamel dots in rainbow colours around the journaling card.

Leider hat mich eine Grippe fest im Griff und daher habt ihr seit Montag nichts mehr Neues von mir hier auf dem Blog gesehen. Heute hat der Basteltisch aber gerufen und mit warmem Tee neben mir ist dies hier entstanden:

Unfortunately I have been sick the whole week, which is why you haven't seen anything new on here since Monday. Today my craft table called out to me though and with a warm cup of tea next to me I made this card:

Ich habe die Purple Onion Stempel der letzten Saison benutzt (obwohl ich gestehen muss, dass die neuen bereits auf dem Weg zu mir sind *grins) und wieder meine Zig Marker geausgekramt. Einige von euch wissen vielleicht, dass ich meine Liebe zu den Zigs entdeckt habe, nachdem ich Birkas Videa dazu gesehen habe. (Einen Link findet ihr in diesem Post - klick.) Ich muss ja zugeben, dass es lange nicht so schnell war, wie mit Copics zu colorieren, aber das Endergenis von den Zigs ist wirklich klasse. Ich hoffe, das findet ihr auch ;o)

I have used some Purple Onion Designs stamps from last season (though the new ones are already on their way to me *smile) and also took out some Zig markers to colour the whole scene in. Some of you might now that I found my love for Zig markers after watching Birka's video about how to colour with them (you find a link in this post - click). I must say colouring a complete scene wasn't as quick as colouring with Copics, but I love the result. I hope you do, too ;o)

Nachdem das Papier trocken war, habe ich das Quadrat und die ovale Aussparung für den Spruch ausgestanzt. Um alles abzurunden, habe ich zum Schluss noch Diamond Stickles auf die Eiscreme getupft - ein ganz klein bisschen kann man es auch erkennen, wenn man genau hinschaut ;o)

After the paper had dried completely I die cut the stitched square and also die cut a shape that would fit my sentiment from the panel. To finish the card I added some Diamond Stickles to the ice cream.

Today is Saturday and this does not only mean, that the weekend is finally here, but also that we have a new challenge for you ate the "Challenge Up Your Life" blog. This time we would like to see projects with all kinds of critters. It doesn't matter wether you use the image of a cat, a dog, a mouse or.... a toucan:

Vielleicht hat die ein oder andere unter euch meine Muttertagskarte von vor ein paar Tagen gesehen? Ich hatte da nämlich seit langer Zeit mal wieder meine Zigs herausgekramt. Die leuchtenden Farben finde ich wirklich wunderschön, aber ich hab mich nie so wirklich an die Stifte dran getraut. Was mir geholfen hat? Das könnt ihr hier nachlesen. ;o) Meinem Tukan wollte ich auch gerne ein so leuchtendes Federkleid malen, also habe ich mich wieder für die Zigs entschieden und dieses Mal für einen No-Line Look. Die Ränder sind leider nicht ganz so klar geworden, wie ich das gern gehabt hätte, weil die starke Struktur vom Papier gegen mich gearbeitet hat. Aber... ich finde den No-Line-Wasserfarbeffekt wirklich super schön und werde weiter üben und auch mal andere Papiere mit den Zigs ausprobieren, um herauszufinden, was am besten funktioniert.

Maybe some of you have seen the Mother's Day card with the crocuses, that I have posted a couple of days ago? (click) I had used my Zig markers again, after having forgotten about them for the longest time and I loved the vibrant look they gave me. I wanted my toucan to have the same vibrant colours, so I used them again, but this time I went for a no-line look. Quite frankly: it took ages and in the close up picture you can see that the edges aren't nearly as clean, as I would like them to be. But... I think no-line watercolour look is absolutely amazing and I will definately try out different papers with the Zigs, to find out which one works best.

Den Hintergrund für die Karte habe ich direkt auf der Kartenbasis gestaltet. Dazu habe ich mit dem Mini Round Ink Blending Tool "Peacock Feathers" Distress Ink aufgetragen und anschließend die Federn mit der gleichen Farbe gestempelt. Normalerweise kann man mit den Distress Inks ja nicht so gut stempeln (finde ich), aber hier haben sie mich wirklich überrascht. Meistens probiere ich das an einer Stelle aus, die man später nicht mehr sehen kann und dieses Mal hatte ich schon gedacht, dass ich mein MISTI rausholen müsste, aber es hat ganz wunderbar geklappt. 

I created the background directly on the card base itself, using a Mini Round Ink Blending Tool and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Next I used the same ink again to stamp the feathers, because I love the tone on tone look it gives. Usually Distress Inks aren't all that great for stamping, but I was really surprised this time. When I remember to do so, I test the stamping on a spot that will be covered later on and I have already seen myself getting out the MISTI to get a crisp image, but the ink worked really well with those feathers from WPlus9.

Winter birthday card / Winterliche Geburtstagskarte

Bei den Crafty Cardmakers & More sind ab heute winterliche Geburtstagskarten gefragt. Sofort habe ich an die süßen Eisbären von MFT gedacht und diese Karte gebastelt:

The Crafty Cardmakers & More blog asks for winter brithday cards for the next two weeks. I immediately thought of the cute polar bears from MFT and made this card:

Für meinen Hintergrund habe ich den Rahmen aus Aquarellpapier ausgestanzt und ihn mit den Gansai Tambi Wasserfarben gemalt. Insgesamt sind es drei Lagen Farbe geworden, weil es mir vorher zu durchsichtig war. Ihr seht, an Wasserfarbhintergründen, die dann auch so aussehen, muss ich noch ein bisschen arbeiten ;o) Auf ein Clipboard geklebt, damit es sich nicht zu sehr verformt,  habe ich das Papier an der Luft trocknen lassen.

After I had die cut the frame from some watercolour paper I played with my Gansai Tambi watercolours and created a wintery night sky for the bear and set it aside to try. While it was drying I had it glued to a board, so that it wouldn't warp too much. 

Danach habe ich diesen süßen Bären mit Distress Inks coloriert und ihn dann per Hand ausgeschnitten. Nun musste ich nur noch meinen Spruch stempeln und embossen und den Eisbären mit Abstandshaltern auf die Karte kleben. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich dem "Winter" in winterlicher Geburtstagskarte noch etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit widmen sollte und habe daher "Have a cool day" (wörtlich übersetzt: Hab einen kühlen Tag) und noch eine Tasse mit Herzchen darüber auf die Innenseite der Karte gestempelt. Normalerweise bleibt der innere Bereich der Karte bei mir immer frei, damit man genug Platz zum Schreiben hat, aber dieses Mal hat es die Karte erst so richtig rund gemacht. Um noch ein wenig Glitter ins Spiel zu bringen habe ich ganz zum Schluss die Eisscholle noch mit "Clear Rock Stickles" überzogen.

Next I coloured in this cutie with some Distress Inks and fuzzy cut it out afterwards. Now all I had to do was to stamp and emboss my sentiment on black cardstock, put some foam tape behind the bear and glue it on. I felt, that I needed to stretch the winter part in winter birthday a bit more so I stamped "Have a cool day"  and another cup on the inside of my card. I don't often do that, but sometimes it helps pulling everything together. As a last finishing touch I added "Clear Rock Stickles" to the ice.

Today I have a very quick post for you - without much chatter :o)

Letzte Woche wurde eine neue Erdenbürgerin geboren und jetzt grinst sie schon breit in die Welt hinein. Natürlich wollte ich sie mit einer Karte begrüßen. Um diese herzustellen habe ich die süßen Tiere aus dem Set "Wild Thing" von Clearly Besotted auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt und mit Wasserfarben ausgemalt. Dazu habe ich als erstes den Löwen gestempelt, mit einer Maske abgedeckt und dann seine beiden Freunde dazu gestempelt. Als Stempelfarbe habe ich "Jet Black Archival Ink" von Ranger benutzt, weil sie sich durch Wasser nicht anlösen lässt.

Last week we had a new arrival in our extended family and now she is already smiling brightly into the world. Of course I wanted to greet her with a card. In order to create it I stamped and coloured the cute animals from the "Wild Thing" stamp set by Clearly Besotted. First I stamped the lion, masked it off and stamped its two friends. I used watercolour paper and "Jet Black Archival Ink" by Ranger because I wanted to use the Gansai Tambi watercolours I had been neglecting for a while. 

Nachdem die drei Wilden trocken waren, habe ich den Hintergrund dazugemalt und außerdem einen Streifen Papier in Ombre-Fashion rot angemalt. Daraus habe ich die Buchstaben für den Namen des Babys ausgestanzt und über die Köpfe der Tiere geklebt. Das "Welcome" habe ich danach noch dazu gestempelt. Zum Schluss habe ich eine gelbe Kartenbasis von Hero Arts mit einem Hintergrundstempel bestempelt und die Kanten mit einem etwas dunkleren Geld ("Lemon Drop" von My Favorite Things") gewischt.

After everything was coloured in I added the background and also coloured a strip of paper red in an ombre fashion. After that was dry I glued the letters above the animal's heads and stamped the word "welcome" on top of that. I used a yellow Hero Arts notecard as my card base, added the background stamping on top of it and also  distressed the edges a little using "Lemon Drop" Ink by My Favorite Things.

Schön, dass ihr vorbei schaut ;o) Heute möchte ich euch eine Karte zeigen, für die ich den Stempel überall gesucht und nie gefunden habe. Zum Glück gab es aber letztes Wochenende in Hagen das Stempelmekka und dort habe ich den süßen Fuchs von Wild Rose tatsächlich bekommen!

So glad you are stopping by ;o) Today I would like to show you a card that features a stamps I have been looking for all over the world. Fortunately there was a huge stamping fair here in Germany last weekend, where I finally got this little Fox from Wild Rose Studio!

Zuerst habe ich den Fuchs mit Archival Ink in schwarz auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt und ihn dann mit verschiedenen Distress Ink Farben angemalt, wobei ich sie wild untereinander gemischt habe, so dass ich euch die genaue Farbzusammensetzung nicht einmal wirklich sagen kann...

First I stamped the fox on some watercolour paper using Archival ink in black and then I coloured him in with a brush and Distress Inks in various colours. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to tell you which colours I have used, because I needed to mix a couple of them to get the shade that I wanted...

Nachdem alles getrocknet war habe ich den Spruch "hang in there" ("Halte durch") mit der Farbe "Taupe" von Stampin Up gestempelt. Dann habe ich den Fuchs ausgestanzt und auf ein weiteres "taupe-farbenes" Stanzteil geklebt. Beides zusammen habe ich dann mit Abstandshaltern auf meine bestempelte Kartenbasis geklebt. Dazu habe ich mit dem "Taupe" (ich finde übrigens, dass das ein komisches Wort ist... ) eine Holzmaserung aufgestempelt und den Rand dann noch einmal gewischt, weil mir immer noch zu viel Weiß durchgeschienen hat. Ganz zum Schluss habe ich noch die Epoxypfeile vor und hinter den Kartenspruch geklebt, weil sie einerseits dem ziemlich dezenten Spruch etwas mehr "Standing" geben und zweitens, weil sie farblich so genial zum Himmel passen.

After everything was dry I stamped the sentiment in "Tip Top Taupe" from Stampin Up. Then I die cut the fox and layered it on top of another die cut piece that has the same colour as the ink that I had used before. Before I glued everything on top of my card base I stamped it with a wooden background and blended in the ink a bit around the edges, so that the white wouldn't be as bright. As a finishing touch I added the blue epoxy stickers around the sentiment, because that made it stand out a bit more and also because the colour of the stickers matched the background perfectly ;o)

Warmest Wishes Snowman Card

Nach der Sommer-Delfinkarte vom letzten Mal gibt es jetzt doch mal wieder eine Winterkarte. Da ich mich kenne - kurz vor Weihnachten wird es immer eng und stressig - fange ich dieses Jahr mal ein wenig zeitiger mit den Karten für die kalte Jahreszeit an. Und dieser Sketch hat mich zu meiner Karte inspiriert:

Last post's card was a summery dolphin card, but now we need to face the truth: Winter is coming. And because I know myself (too) well - and right before christmas time is rare and it ususally gets stressful - I wanted to start early with my cards for the cold season. This sketch from the MFT Sketch challenge has inspired me to make my card:

Da ich die Idee von einem Schneemann im Aquarelllook schön fand, habe ich ein Stück Aquarellpapier von Tim Holtz und meine Tombowstifte zurecht gelegt. Das Papier von Tim Holtz benutze ich meistens dann, wenn ich weiße Flächen haben möchte, da mein "normales" von Canson leider einen leichten Gelbstich hat. (Falls jemand ein gutes, günstiges und weißes Aquarellpapier empfehlen kann, würde ich mich freuen, wenn ihr mir hier einen Kommentar hinterlassen würdet!) Den Schneemann habe ich mit Antique Linen Distress Ink gestempelt und mit den Tombows immer dort Farbe aufgetragen, wo sie am dunkelsten sein sollte. Mit einem Pinsel und Wasser habe ich dann die Farbe auf der restlichen Fläche verteilt. Für den Hintergrund habe ich Mermaid Lagoon und Chipped Sapphire benutzt. Dazu habe ich die Stempelkissen einfach auf ein Stück Plastik gedrückt, die Farbe mit Wasser verdünnt und mit einem etwas breiteren Pinsel aufgetragen.

I used a sheet of Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock, because I wanted white paper. My usual watercolor paper has kind of an offwhite or vanilla shade which I didn't like for the snowman. I stamped the snowman with Antique Linen Distress Ink and used Tombow markers to color him in. I put some marker down where I wanted the colour to be the darkest and then used a damp brush to pull the colour out to the rest of the area. For the background I used Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire. I pressed the inkpads on some acetate and then used a brush to colour in the area behind that sweet snowman.

Auf ein zweites Blatt Papier habe ich mit der Farbe Tide Pool von Hero Arts das Pulli-Muster aufgestempelt und beide dann mit der Notizblattstanze von Technique Tuesday ausgestanzt. Der weiße Hintergrund der Karte war mir ein wenig zu langweilig, also habe ich einen Embossingfolder benutzt, um die "Schneeflocken" zu prägen. Zum Schluss habe ich noch den Kartengruß mit Versamark auf ein schwarzes Stück Cardstock gestempelt und anschließend weiß embossed.

I stamped the "Sweater Stitch" background stamp on to a second piece of paper in Tide Pool ink from Hero Arts, because that matched the light blue from the snowman's scarf really well and cut both pieces using a die from Technique Tuesday, Because I felt that all the white space on the card was a bit too boring I used an older embossing folder to get the illusion of (admittedly huge) snowflakes in the back. To finish the card of I stamped my greeting in Versamark ink on some black piece of cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
