New Home welcome gift

Hello everyone ;o)

Today I'd like to share my project for the newest theme over at Challenge Up Your Life with you. The theme is "Moving House" and that was perfect for a dear friend of mine who moved back into my area after around 20 something years. This is what I created as a gift for him:

It is the "Scalloped Treat Box" by Lawn Fawn with the addition of "Winter House" which works really well together. Inside the house is a little marzipan piggy to wish my friend luck in his new home. Also there is a sloth, but that one decided to look out of the window and stay put, rather than becoming a snack later on:

And here you can see the sloth even better:

I added a piece of clear plastic behind the windows and the doors, so that it would look even more like a real little house.

Hello dear crafters!

As you might know I truly enjoy making cards. As I myself found out recently I detest working with wax, but I love how the candle turned out. But first things first: The Crafty Cardmakers dare you to make "Anything But A Card" this time around. I thought I'd give myself a real challenge and created the candle for my nephew's christening:

It isn't perfect, but it is handmade ;o) So I am almost certain Felix will like it when he is older. Is there something you would like to create apart from a card? Yes? Perfect! ;o) Then I hope you will share it with us at the Crafty Cardmakers. I may not feel tempted to play with wax again anytime soon, but I am absolutely glad I tried it. Halli Hallo ihr Lieben!

Die letzten Tage war es hier etwas ruhiger, als ich mir das gewünscht hätte, aber kaum, dass ich am Donnerstag zu Hause war und alles mögliche tun wollte (Freitag hatte ich natürlich frei...) spürte ich Gliederschmerzen aufziehen und kurze Zeit später gab es dann die volle Packung: Fieber, Hals-, Kopf- und Ohrenschmerzen und ich bin nur noch in mein Bett gekrabbelt. Daher kommt heute unser wunderbarer Adventskalender-Hop auch etwas zu spät online.... Bei all den schönen Dingen, die es zu bestaunen gibt, werdet ihr mir aber hoffentlich bald verzeihen ;o)))

Heya my dear crafty friends!
The last couple of days it has been a lot quieter on my blog than I had wanted it to be. When I came home from work on Thursday after noon I felt a bit of a muscle pain and soon after that I had a high temperature, a sore throat, a headache and felt so bad that I went to bed right then. This is why I am a little late with posting the wonderful Advent Calender Hop today... However, I am sure you'll find it in your heart to forgive me when you see all these wonderful packages and surprises along the way ;o)))

Hier seht ihr den mega-süßen Kalender, den ich von meiner lieben Bastelfreundin Chris bekommen habe. Hat sie sich damit nicht selbst übertroffen? Man findet immer wieder neue tolle Details und ich liebe es, dass der Kalender insgesamt so eine gigantische, durchgehende Szene darstellt! Absolut genial, vielen, vielen Dank liebe Chris, der Kalender ist wundervoll und ich liebe ihn!

This is the uber-sweet calender I got from my lovely craftyfriend Chris. Didn't she completely outdo herself with this? There are so many wonderful details and the images are just so very cute! I love the fact that it is one giant continuous scene! Thank you so, so much Chris, your calender is perfect and I love it!

Wir haben uns übrigens für einen sechsteiligen Kalender entschieden: ein Teil für jeden Adventssonntag plus je eines für Nikolaus und Weihnachten. Auf diese Weise bekommt man einiges an Überraschungen unter und es wird nicht zu Arbeit ;o) Hättet ihr Lust mit mir mein erstes Päckchen zu öffnen? (Pünktlich zum ersten Schnee in NRW übrigens...)

By the way, we decided to "only" create six things for the calender: one for each Advent Sunday, one for Saint Nicholas' Day and one for Christmas, so that it would still be fun to create it and not end up being work ;o)  Would you like to open the first box with me???

Chris hat mir nicht nur diese im doppelten Sinne süßen Schneemänner in die Box gelegt, sondern auch noch meine Lieblingshandcreme ;o) Wie auch immer sie das wissen konnte, aber jetzt habe ich noch eine, die immer mit mir mitkommen kann ;o) Vielen, vielen Dank liebe Chris! xx

Chris did not only put these cute and tasty snowmen in my first box, but also made sure the skin on my hands won't get too dry during the winter time ;o) How she could know that this is my favourite hand creme I have no idea, but now I have one to take with me ;o) Thank you so much, Chris! xx

Ich hab mich für ein Rentier-Thema entschieden und bin überwiegens bei weihnachtlichem Rot und Grün geblieben. Die Boxen sind fast alle unterschiedlich, weil ich sie dem jeweiligen Inhalt angepasst habe. Liebe Karolin, ich wünsche Dir viel Freude mit den Päckchen und ihrem Inhalt! Mir hat es auf jeden Fall viel Spaß gemacht, sie für Dich zu werkeln ;o) Einen frohen ersten Advent wünsche ich euch allen und eine tolle Vorweihnachtszeit!!! Eure Maike

I decided to go with a reindeer-theme and a traditional red and green colour scheme for my calender. The boxes are almost all different, because I made them the right size for the things I wanted to put in them ;o) Dear Karolin, I wish you a lot of fun with the little boxes - I had a lot of fun making them for you ;o) Have a wonderful first Advent Sunday and a fantastic time in December!!! Candle-light boxes / Schenkli-Teelicht-Boxen

Halli Hallo ihr Lieben!

"Alles, außer einer Karte" ist das Thema der neuen Crafty Cardmakers Challenge. Ich möchte mit euch die Schenkli-Teelicht-Boxen teilen, die ich für die Teilnehmer des Klosterwochenendes gemacht habe:

"Anything but a card" is the theme of the new Crafty Cardmakers challenge. I would like to share with you the candle-light boxes I made for the lovely participants of our cloister weekend:

Die Schachtel habe ich mit meiner BigShot Plus gestanzt, dann ein Fenster ausgestanzt und das Papier embossed. Anschließend habe ich noch ein Stück Folie hinter das Fenster geklebt.

I die cut the box with my BigShot Plus, die cut a window from it and embossed the paper afterwards. Next I glued some acetate behind the window.

Der kleine Igel, mit dem ich die Vorderseite verziert habe, ist von Purple Onion Designs und einfach nur niedlich, findet ihr nicht auch? Außer dem colorierten Motiv habe ich nur noch mit ein paar Nuvo Drops verziert, damit das Teelicht auch die Möglichkeit hat, sein Licht zu zeigen ;o) Innen gab es noch einen Farbklecks, der gleichzeitig das Versteck für ein kleines Betthupferl war:

The little hedgehog, which I have used to embellish the front with, is by Purple Onion Designs and just too cute, don't you think? Apart from the little guy I only used a few Nuvo drops to make the front look pretty, because i wanted the candle light to be able to show through the paper in as many places as possible ;o) Inside there is a bit more colour, which acts as a background for the hedgehog, but also as a hiding place for the little chocolate surprise inside:

Jeanins Hochzeitsalbum

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Heute habe ich mal keine Karte für euch, sondern eine Idee für ein kreatives Gruppengeschenk für eine Hochzeit. Eigentlich nicht irgendeine Hochzeit, sondern in diesem speziellen Fall für die Hochzeit von der lieben Jeanin von Some Bits and Pieces, die am Wochenende ihren Alex geheiratet hat. Das hier hat sie von uns allen (uns heißt in diesem Fall viele ihrer Bastelfreundinnen) bekommen:

Today I'd like to share this idea for a group gift for a wedding with you. Well, actually not any one wedding, because in this case it was the wedding of lovely Jeanin from Some Bits and Pieces who got married to her Alex last weekend. This is what she got from all of us (us meaning many of her crafty friends...):

Jede von uns hat ein 10x10 cm großes Stück Papier auf der Vorder- und Rückseite gestaltet. Hier ist meins - komplett flach gehalten, weil ich ehrlich gesagt nicht mehr wusste, ob es auch in Ebenen gestaltet sein durfte... Naja, sicher ist sicher, oder? ;o))))

We all turned a 10x10 cm piece of paper in something like a card by designing the front and back for Jeanin and her husband. I kept mine completely flat, because to be honest, I wasn't sure anymore if we had established any guidelines for our presents, regarding layers.... Well, better safe than sorry I thought, so this is what I made:

PS: Wisst ihr was? Ich liebe unser Hobby, weil es kreativ ist, klar, aber auch, weil der Hauptgrund ist, anderen eine Freude zu machen und das finde ich großartig! Jedes Lächeln, das man mit einer Karte, einem tollen Umschlag, einem Smilespotting-Werk oder einem kleinen handgemachten Geschenk in die Welt bringt ist ein echtes Geschenk. Keine Ahnung, warum das jetzt raus musste, aber es musste! Habt eine tolle Woche und seid großartig!

PS You know what? I truly love our hobby Because it is creative for sure, but especially because one main reason for making cards, beautifying an envelope, leaving smile-spotting cards for random people to see or giving little hand crafted boxes is making people smile. And every little smile that comes to someones face is a real gift. No idea where this all came from, but it had to be typed for some reason... Have a great week and be awesome!

Diese Lesezeichen sind für die aktuelle PINspirational Challenge zu diesem Bild  entstanden:

Heya my dear crafty friends!

I made these bookmarks as inspiration for the newest PINspirational challenge. This is the current photo inspiration:

Zuerst habe ich die Lesezeichenstanze sechs mal durchgekurbelt, um je drei Vorder- und drei Rückseiten zu erhalten. Dann habe ich jede Vorderseite mit Hilfe einer Schablone coloriert und eines der niedlichen Tierchen von Gerda Steiner Designs dazu geklebt.

I started by die cutting the bookmark 6 times, so that I had three fronts and three back parts. Next I decorated each front with a stencil and added one of the cute characters by Gerda Steiner Designs.

Um das Lesezeichen letztendlich auch zu einem zu machen, habe ich immer ein Stanzteil bei etwa einem halben Inch (gut 1 cm)von oben gefalzt und dann Rücken an Rücken an eines der gestalteten Teile geklebt. So guckt dann dieses kurze Stück oben aus dem Buch heraus und man findet in Nullkommanix nicht nur die richtige Seite wieder, sondern wird auch noch von einem der süßen Tierchen begrüßt ;o) Ich hoffe, ihr habt Lust bei unserer Challenge mitzumachen und lasst euch von dem Foto oder vielleicht meinem Lesezeichenprojekt inspirieren ;o) Habt einen schönen Tag und happy crafting!!!

To create the actual bookmark I scored one die cut piece at about a half inch from the top and glued it on the back of a decorated piece. This way the top will peak out from the top of the book and the page one stopped reading can easily be found.
