Hello everyone ;o)

Today I'd like to share my project for the newest theme over at Challenge Up Your Life with you. The theme is "Moving House" and that was perfect for a dear friend of mine who moved back into my area after around 20 something years. This is what I created as a gift for him:

It is the "Scalloped Treat Box" by Lawn Fawn with the addition of "Winter House" which works really well together. Inside the house is a little marzipan piggy to wish my friend luck in his new home. Also there is a sloth, but that one decided to look out of the window and stay put, rather than becoming a snack later on:

And here you can see the sloth even better:

I added a piece of clear plastic behind the windows and the doors, so that it would look even more like a real little house.

Heya everyone ;o)

Today I would like to share a little project with you that I made with some kind people in mind. They have been helping with our bicycle training at school even though they have loads on their plates as well. So I thought I would create a little gift box for all of them. That fit perfectly with our "No Cards / Keine Karten" challenge at Papercraft Challenges which starts today.

I am not sure what will go inside the boxes yet, but I will hopefully think of something soon ;o) The cute fox image is a stamp by Purple Onion Designs. I coloured all of them differently using the watercolour pens from Winsor & Newton. They are lightfast and also have very rich colours.

Finally we have a new Happy Insta Girls Blog Hop for you today ;o) This time we send Easter cards and sweets in handmade wrapping to a girl from our group. Jedes Jahr wieder gibt es schlaflose Nächte und dann laute Freudenjauchzer, wenn das Paket endlich ankommt. Dieses Jahr hat mich diese süße Kombination von Birka (von "Mit Herz und Schere") echt von den Socken gehauen. Schaut sie euch selbst an, ist das nicht ein Traum in Pink?!!!!!!!?

Each year I have sleepless nights and all the excitement until the package arrives and I can finally look inside ;o) This year I got this super cute set from Birka (from the "Mit Herz und Schere" blog) and what can I tell you - it is a dream in pink ;o)

Die Motive sind einfach sooo niedlich - vielen, vielen Dank, liebe Birka ;o) Ich bin sofort  schockverliebt gewesen in meine Osterüberraschung! Die Karte allein ist ja schon der Hammer und dann auch noch dieses süße Körbchen mit pinken Eiern und zartrosa Esspapier-Ostergras - also mal ehrlich, genial ;o))) Mal so ganz am Rande, an dem Gras kam ich echt nicht vorbei und musste auch schon mal vor Ostern naschen und soll ich euch was sagen? Es ist nicht nur rosa, sondern schmeckt auch noch nach Erdbeere *hihi Ganz bezaubernd finde ich übrigens auch die rosa Möhrchen...

The images are so, so cute - thank you so very much, dear Birka ;o) I love my Easter surprise! The card itself is brilliant, but the cute Easter basket with the pink Easter eggs and light pink edible grass, that's just awesome! I couldn't keep from trying the grass and let me tell you, it tastes like strawberries, isn't that fun? I also fell in love with the pink carrots...

Meine Osterüberraschung ging an die liebe Biggi, die ihr sicherlich von ihrem Blog "Mimi Zitrone" kennt, oder? Ihre Werke sind humorvoll, kreativ und total vielseitig, ein Besuch auch außerhalb unseres Hops lohnt sich definitiv ;o) Ich hoffe, ihr hat der Inhalt meines Oster-paket-nests gefallen:

My Easter-surprise was sent to the lovely Biggi, which you might also already know from her blog "Mimi Zitrone". Her creations are always fun and creative; so a visit to her blog is definately worthwhile ;o) I hope she like the content of my Easter-parcel-nest:

Habt ihr schon entdeckt, dass das, was ihr seht, eine interaktive Karte ist? Ist auch ein bisschen schwer zu entdecken, aber eine gute Übungs für's Ostereiersuchen, oder? Die Karte ist eine "Spinning Wheel" Karte. So konnte ich noch eine zusätzliche Überraschung für die liebe Biggi einbauen:

Did you already spot that I made an interactive card for Biggi? It is a bit hard to spot I give you that, but it is good training for the Easter hunt, don't you think? The card is a spinning wheel card, so that I could have an extra surprise in the surprise for her. Here you can see what Biggi did, when she turned the wheel:

Und damit die Box und das Körbchen nicht untergehen auch hier noch einmal ein Detailbild ;o) Das Körbchen lässt nicht übrigens ganz leicht in jeder Größe basteln und macht echt was her, finde ich. Gefunden habe ich sie hier auf Pinterest, allerdings habe ich ein rechteckiges DIN A 4 - Papier benutzt und rundherum bei 2 3/4 Inch gefalzt.

Let me show you one last picture of the basket I have made using these instructions on Pinterest.  You can make a basket in any size you want and I really like the way it looks. In my case I have used a sheet of paper in a DIN A 4 size and scored all around with a 2 3/4 inch distanze from the edge.

Die letzten Tage war es hier etwas ruhiger, als ich mir das gewünscht hätte, aber kaum, dass ich am Donnerstag zu Hause war und alles mögliche tun wollte (Freitag hatte ich natürlich frei...) spürte ich Gliederschmerzen aufziehen und kurze Zeit später gab es dann die volle Packung: Fieber, Hals-, Kopf- und Ohrenschmerzen und ich bin nur noch in mein Bett gekrabbelt. Daher kommt heute unser wunderbarer Adventskalender-Hop auch etwas zu spät online.... Bei all den schönen Dingen, die es zu bestaunen gibt, werdet ihr mir aber hoffentlich bald verzeihen ;o)))

Heya my dear crafty friends!
The last couple of days it has been a lot quieter on my blog than I had wanted it to be. When I came home from work on Thursday after noon I felt a bit of a muscle pain and soon after that I had a high temperature, a sore throat, a headache and felt so bad that I went to bed right then. This is why I am a little late with posting the wonderful Advent Calender Hop today... However, I am sure you'll find it in your heart to forgive me when you see all these wonderful packages and surprises along the way ;o)))

Hier seht ihr den mega-süßen Kalender, den ich von meiner lieben Bastelfreundin Chris bekommen habe. Hat sie sich damit nicht selbst übertroffen? Man findet immer wieder neue tolle Details und ich liebe es, dass der Kalender insgesamt so eine gigantische, durchgehende Szene darstellt! Absolut genial, vielen, vielen Dank liebe Chris, der Kalender ist wundervoll und ich liebe ihn!

This is the uber-sweet calender I got from my lovely craftyfriend Chris. Didn't she completely outdo herself with this? There are so many wonderful details and the images are just so very cute! I love the fact that it is one giant continuous scene! Thank you so, so much Chris, your calender is perfect and I love it!

Wir haben uns übrigens für einen sechsteiligen Kalender entschieden: ein Teil für jeden Adventssonntag plus je eines für Nikolaus und Weihnachten. Auf diese Weise bekommt man einiges an Überraschungen unter und es wird nicht zu Arbeit ;o) Hättet ihr Lust mit mir mein erstes Päckchen zu öffnen? (Pünktlich zum ersten Schnee in NRW übrigens...)

By the way, we decided to "only" create six things for the calender: one for each Advent Sunday, one for Saint Nicholas' Day and one for Christmas, so that it would still be fun to create it and not end up being work ;o)  Would you like to open the first box with me???

Chris hat mir nicht nur diese im doppelten Sinne süßen Schneemänner in die Box gelegt, sondern auch noch meine Lieblingshandcreme ;o) Wie auch immer sie das wissen konnte, aber jetzt habe ich noch eine, die immer mit mir mitkommen kann ;o) Vielen, vielen Dank liebe Chris! xx

Chris did not only put these cute and tasty snowmen in my first box, but also made sure the skin on my hands won't get too dry during the winter time ;o) How she could know that this is my favourite hand creme I have no idea, but now I have one to take with me ;o) Thank you so much, Chris! xx

I decided to go with a reindeer-theme and a traditional red and green colour scheme for my calender. The boxes are almost all different, because I made them the right size for the things I wanted to put in them ;o) Dear Karolin, I wish you a lot of fun with the little boxes - I had a lot of fun making them for you ;o) Have a wonderful first Advent Sunday and a fantastic time in December!!! Candle-light boxes / Schenkli-Teelicht-Boxen

"Alles, außer einer Karte" ist das Thema der neuen Crafty Cardmakers Challenge. Ich möchte mit euch die Schenkli-Teelicht-Boxen teilen, die ich für die Teilnehmer des Klosterwochenendes gemacht habe:

"Anything but a card" is the theme of the new Crafty Cardmakers challenge. I would like to share with you the candle-light boxes I made for the lovely participants of our cloister weekend:

Die Schachtel habe ich mit meiner BigShot Plus gestanzt, dann ein Fenster ausgestanzt und das Papier embossed. Anschließend habe ich noch ein Stück Folie hinter das Fenster geklebt.

I die cut the box with my BigShot Plus, die cut a window from it and embossed the paper afterwards. Next I glued some acetate behind the window.

Der kleine Igel, mit dem ich die Vorderseite verziert habe, ist von Purple Onion Designs und einfach nur niedlich, findet ihr nicht auch? Außer dem colorierten Motiv habe ich nur noch mit ein paar Nuvo Drops verziert, damit das Teelicht auch die Möglichkeit hat, sein Licht zu zeigen ;o) Innen gab es noch einen Farbklecks, der gleichzeitig das Versteck für ein kleines Betthupferl war:

The little hedgehog, which I have used to embellish the front with, is by Purple Onion Designs and just too cute, don't you think? Apart from the little guy I only used a few Nuvo drops to make the front look pretty, because i wanted the candle light to be able to show through the paper in as many places as possible ;o) Inside there is a bit more colour, which acts as a background for the hedgehog, but also as a hiding place for the little chocolate surprise inside:

Happy Insta-Girls Easter Blog Hop

Lisas Karte und die tolle Duploverpackung passen optisch einfach wunderbar zusammen und ihre Liebe zum Detail ist in jeder Ecke spürbar - immer wieder entdeckt man etwas Neues ;o) Vielen, vielen Dank liebe Lisa für diese Kunstwerke! Sie werden noch lange über Ostern hinaus mein Regal schmücken, auch wenn ich nicht versprechen kann, dass der Duplospender dann noch was zum Rausrücken haben wird ;o) Es ist einfach zu verführerisch und macht zu viel Spaß, an der Lasche zu ziehen und mit einer Nascherei "überrascht" zu werden!

Lisa's card and her super sweet (hehe) chocolate dispenser look stunning together, because at first glance they seem to be so different, but then you find all the little details that make them one set and it is so much fun finding ever more of these decorations / elements whenever you look at it again ;o) Thank you so, so much dear Lisa for this piece of art! I will put it on my shelf and look at it often, but I can't promise that the dispenser will be able to do its work  after Easter because it is yummy and so much fun to pull at the flap and find a sweet "surprise"!

Mein Osterpaket ging an die liebe Nicole von dem Blog "Frau Vögeli". Ihre bunten, fröhlichen Karten finde ich super klasse und wollte ihr etwas in diese Richtung schicken. Ich hoffe, es hat ihr gefallen:

Ich weiß gar nicht, ob ihr das wusstet, aber ich lieeeebe Box-Karten (heißen die so auf deutsch???).  Die Tatsache, dass manauf so vielen Ebenen arbeiten und dadurch Tiefe erzeugen kann, finde ich klasse. Benutzt habe ich die Stempel von dem Set "Eggstra Special Easter" von Lawn Fawn:

Not sure if you know this, but I love box cards. The dimensional look and that one has many levels to decorate the card and create a scene is awesome I think. I used images from the Lawn Fawn "Eggstra Special Easter" set:

Und hier noch einmal ein Blick auf die Verpackungen. In die kleine Tasche habe ich ein Loch gestanzt, um ein Plastikfenster "einzubauen", damit der Osterhase auch hinausschauen kann ohne die Leckereien für Nicole zu verlieren ;o)

And here is a closer look of the gift boxes and the bag. I die cut a circle out of one side of the bag and "sealed" the hole with an acetate window, so that the Easter bunny could have a look around but wouldn't loose his goodies for Nicole ;o)

Ostergeschenke mit Timo und Jens

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Schnell möchte ich euch noch die Ostergeschenke zeigen, die am Sonntag bei uns gesucht und gefunden werden wollen:

I would like to quickly share with you the Eater gifts that my family will have to search for and find on Sunday:

Ich habe die Originalbanderole der Löffeleier als Schablone benutzt und sie aus grünem Cardstock ausgeschnitten und an den entsprechenden Stellen gefalzt. Leider muss ich sagen, dass ich von dem Cardstock (immerhin von Stampin Up) überhaupt nicht begeistert bin. Nach normalem Falzen ist er mir bereits gerissen, so dass ich jede Falzung von hinten mit einem Streifen Tesafilm verstärken musste. Ist euch so etwas auch schon passiert? Bisher hatte ich eigentlich eher gute Erfahrungen mit dem SU Papier gemacht... Seltsam. Nun ja, aber zum Glück hält es jetzt und Timo und Jens haben einen recht stabilen Platz auf den Eierkartons gefunden ;o) Ich hoffe, die Verpackungen gefallen euch und ihr habt eine schöne Woche!!!

I used to original packing from the egg carton which usually holds some chocolate sweets as a guide, hand cut it out and scored it in the same places as in the original packaging. Unfortunately I have to say I am not in the least impressed with the cardstock this time, which is from Stampin Up if you believe it or not. I had to reinforce all the folds with cling film from the back, so that it wouldn't fall apart. Have you had any experience with this? In the past I have not had any problems with it though... Weird. Well, fortunately Timo and Jens have found a now secure and safe home on the egg carton ;o) I hope you like the packaging and that you have a fantastic week!!!

Als ich diese niedlichen Lindt-Eulen im Laden gesehen habe, konnte ich einfach nicht vorbei gehen. Ich hatte sofort die Idee, dass ich ein kleines Häuschen für die bauen wollte und mich - zurück an meinem Schreibtisch - direkt an eine Konstruktion begeben:

A chocolate brand called Lindt has recently come up with these cute owls and I immediatly bought one, because I wanted to construct a house for it. So here it is:

 

Am schwierigsten fand ich die Konstruktion vom Dach, weil ich wollte, dass es nicht nur aufliegt und dann auch noch leicht zu entfernen ist. Nach einigen Fehlversuchen habe ich mich letztendlich für eine Variante entschieden, bei der es extra Seitenteile gibt, die man in das Häuschen hinein steckt. Die Vorteile davon sind: a) dass die Seitenteile dem Eulenhaus noch mehr Stabilität verleihen, b) man selber durch ihre Länge bestimmen kann, welchen Winkel man für das Dach haben möchte und c) dass man es einfach herausnehmen kann und so schnell an die leckere Eule kommt.

The most difficult to figure out was, how I wanted to construct the roof part, because I wanted it to be removable yet sturdy. So I came up with a roof that can be tucked into the house. That had several advantages: a) it gives the house itself more stability, b) with the lenght of the parts that are tucked into the house you can determine the angle of the roof and c) it is easily removed.

If you would like to make one of these houses as well, here is how I did it:

1. Haus / House

2. Dach / Roof

Für die Dachziegel habe ich einen Bordürenstanzer von Fiskars benutzt und eine komplette Seite eines großen Scrapbookingpapiers damit bearbeitet. Davon habe ich dann einen ca.1 Inch breiten Streifen abgeschnitten und die Prozedur noch 2x wiederholt. So hatte ich genug "Ziegel" für das komplette Dach. Am einfachsten lässt es sich aufkleben, wenn man eine Dachseite komplett mit Kleber versieht und dann am unteren Ende mit dem Auflegen beginnt - so muss man nicht immer zwischen Kleber und Papier hin- und herwechseln. Um es mir einfacher zu machen habe ich außerdem immer den gesamten Streifen aufgelegt und dann das Überstehende an der Dachseite abgeschnitten. Das habe ich so lange gemacht, bis der Rest nicht mehr für eine weitere Reihe ausreichte und hab dann einen neuen Streifen benutzt.

In order to create the roof tiles I used a decorative edge punch from Fiskars. I punched the scalloped edge along the whole side of a 12" paper and then cut it off at about an inch width. I needed three of these stripes to have enough for the roof. The easiest way I find to attach the tiles is to completely cover one side of the roof with adhesive and then start gluing down the scalloped paper strip at the bottom of it. Cut off the overlap and glue it down again until you do not have enough paper left to cover the witdh of the roof, then use the second strip of paper and so on ;o)

Um das Dach der Jahreszeit anzupassen habe ich ein paar Herbstblätter darauf geklebt. Zum Schluss habe ich das Wort "Thanks" auf das gleiche Papier gestempelt, wie das, was ich für das Häuschen an sich benutzt habe, es ausgeschnitten und dann noch die Ränder eingefärbt, damit man es auf dem Hintergrund besser sehen kann. Danach hat die Pinke Eule schnell ihr neues Heim bezogen und scheint sich dort drin sehr wohl zu fühlen ;o)

I wanted to decorate the house according to the season so I added a few autumn leaves to the roof. Next I stamped the word "thanks" and cut it out. After I added a ribbon end to one side I used my Ink Blending tool to colour the edges, so that it would stand out a little more against the background. After that was done the little owl could move into her house and she seems rather happy with it ;o)

Heute habe ich einen ganz besonderen Post für euch. Einerseits zeige ich euch heute mal eine kleine Geschenkbox in der man eine Kleinigkeit an einen lieben Menschen verschenken kann und zum anderen darf ich euch nun mitteilen, dass ich für die kommenden zwei Monate Gastdesignerin für den "Challenge Up Your Life" Blog sein darf ;o))) Ich freu mich wirklich sehr und hoffe, euch gefällt mein erster Beitrag!

Today I have a special post for you! On the one hand I am not going to show you a card today, but a little box that fits a small treat for someone very nice and on the other hand I can share with you some fantastic news: I am going to be the guest designer over at the "Challenge Up Your Life" blog for the next two months. ;o)))) I am really very excited and hope you'll like my first submission!

Zuerst habe ich mir einen "Schlachtplan" zurechtgelegt, um vier Merci-Schokoladenriegel in einer hübschen Box verpacken zu können. Dazu habe ich ausgemessen, wie viel Platz 4 Schokoriegel nebeneinander benötigen und mit diesen Angaben dann den Rohling für meine Box zurechtgeschnitten und -gefalzt. Das Papier muss auf die Größe 5 1/4" auf 10 3/4" geschnitten und dann so gefalzt werden, wie ihr es auf dem folgenden Bild seht. Achtung: Gefalzt wird nur bei den gepunkteten Linien - die Linie, an der die Maße stehen wird nicht gefalzt.

First I needed to make a plan for my box. I wanted to insert 4 chocolate bars called "Merci" to it, so I measured out how much space they needed. The paper for this box needs to be cut to 5 1/4" by 10 3/4" and then you need to score them like you can see in the following picture. Attention: You only need to score where you see the dotted line - the line with the measurements is no score line.

Als nächstes muss einiges weggeschnitten werden. Was übrig bleibt seht ihr hier:

Next you need to cut off a bit of you paper. In the following picture you see what your paper should look like after you cut out what isn't needed:

Nun muss die Box noch zusammengeklebt werden. Falls ihr - wie ich - ein Sichtfenster integrieren möchtet ist das jetzt der Zeitpunkt gekommen, aus dem ganz rechten Quadrat eine Form eurer Wahl herauszuschneiden. Um das Ahornblatt auch durch das Designerpapier an der richtigen Stelle zu stanzen, habe ich vor dem Ausstanzen das gemusterte Papier mit einem wieder ablösbaren Kleber vorübergehend befestigt und das ganze dann durch meine Big Shot gejagt. Bevor ich die Box endgültig zusammengeklebt habe, habe ich die Plastikfolie dazwischengeklebt, alle anderen Papiere aufgeklebt und die Innengestaltung der Box erledigt. Ich erwähne das hier, weil die Box auf dem Foto bereits die zweite ist, die ich fertiggestellt habe, weil ich nämlich die Folie vergessen hatte und es wirklich schwierig war, die Musterpapiere anständig aufzukleben.

Now the paper needs to become a box ;o) If you would like to have a window in your box, like I did, now is the time to cut it out of the square on the right. In order to have the acorn leaf at the right space in both the box and the patterned paper I glued the designer paper down temporarily and sent both through my Big Shot. Before I put the box together I glued the acetate between the box and the patterned paper, added the paper for the lid and also stencilled in the acorns. I am saying this here, because the box you see in the picture is actaully the second one I made, because I had forgotten the acetate and also the paper on the front. 

Zum Schluss habe ich nur noch den Streifen mit dem "just a little something" ("nur eine Kleinigkeit") hinzugefügt und dem dem Fuchs mit "Walnut Stain" einen Hügel angedeutet und ihn darauf geklebt. Der Fuchs ist übrigens eine Stanze, die ich mit Copics coloriert habe. Den Körper habe ich dafür 3 Mal ausgestanzt, um ihn ein wenig stabiler zu machen.

All that was left to do now was to glue down the sentiment strip "just a little something", colour in an area for the fox something to stand on and glue him down. The fox is made from a die cut which I have coloured using my Copic markers. I die cut the body three times to give it more thickness and make it more sturdy.
