Happy Halloween - Cat with pumpkin

Hallo ihr Lieben!

So kurz vor'm 31. zeige ich euch nun die vorerst letzte Halloweenkarte. Aber ich konnte nicht anders... Dieses süße, leicht verschreckte Kätzchen und die Maus im Kürbis mussten einfach noch auf eine Karte ;o)

Heya my dear crafty friends!
We are very close to the end of October, but I would love to share one more Halloween card with you today. This cute, slightly scared looking cat and the mouse in the pumpkin simply had to be on a card ;o)

Angefangen habe ich damit, die Katze nebst Kürbis und Mäuschen zu colorieren und sie auszuschneiden. Dass sie recht schnell und einfach per Hand auszuschneiden und zu colorieren sind ist definitiv ein großer Pluspunkt für die Images von Gerda Steiner finde ich. Als nächstes habe ich den Spinnenhintergrund gestempelt und den gewellten Kreis daraus ausgestanzt. Danach habe ich noch einen etwas kleineren Kreis aus schwarzem Cardstock ausgestanzt und beide Teile zusammengeklebt.

I started by coloring and fussy cutting the image. That is definately one thing I really like about GSD stamps, they are quick and easy to colour and also easy to fussy cut! Next I stamped the spider background and I die cut the scallop circle out of it. I also die cut a slightly smaller circle from black cardstock and glued both pieces together.

Auf die Kartenbasis habe ich dann das gestreifte Papier geklebt und mit einem Bleistift markiert, wo die Öffnung sein wird. So konnte ich den Spruch an die perfekte Stelle stempeln ;o) Um die Karte zu beenden musste ich jetzt nur noch alle Teile an Ort und Stelle kleben. Ich hoffe, die beiden Angsthäschen haben euch gefallen! Falls ich morgen Halloween feiert, wünsche ich euch viel Spaß. Falls nicht, genießt den Abend moster- und geisterfrei :o)

I glued a piece of striped paper to the card base and place the window panel on top to mark where the opening was going to end up. That way I was able to stamp the sentiment in just the right spot ;o) To finish the card, all that was left to do was to adhere everything in place. I hope you like the two cute scaredy cats (hehe...) and that you'll have a fantastic Halloween night, if you celebrate Halloween. If you don't have a wonderful monster- and ghostfree night ;o)

Heute startet wieder eine neue Challenge auf dem Blog der Crafty Cardmaker. Dieses Mal geht es um ein (leider) recht naheliegendes Thema, nämlich den Herbst:

Heya my dear crafty friends!
Today is the beginning of a new challenge over at the Crafty Cardmakers. This time it is all about "Autumn" which is (unfortunately) right around the corner for many of us:

Für den Hintergrund habe ich einen älteren Stempel einer deutschen Firma benutzt, den ich aber immer noch wunderschön finde. Allerdings hatte ich keine Lust Masken für 15 Kastanienblätter auszuschneiden und habe daher alles mit meinen Copics von Hand ausgemalt.

I have used an older but very much loved stamp from a German company to create the background. Because I didn't feel like cutting around 15 masks I coloured everything in by hand usinig Copic markers.

Als nächstes habe ich aus dem Hintergrund das gewellte Rechteck ausgestanzt und daraus dann noch ein Fenster, da ich für den Spruch noch einen optisch etwas ruhigere Stelle auf der Karte haben wollte. Nachdem ich die Igel und den Baumstumpf gestempelt, coloriert und ausgeschnitten hatte, habe ich alle Elemente aufgeklebt. Um dem Fenster mehr Tiefe zu geben habe ich Abstandskleber benutzt.

Next I die cut a shape from the background and a window from that, because I wanted to have a place for my sentiment that wasn't too busy. After I had stamped, coloured and fussy cut my images I placed all the elements on my card, using foam tape behind the panel to give the window area more depth.

In mindestens eines der ausgestreckten Händchen von dem kleinen Igel musste noch etwas hineingelegt werden, fand ich, und darum habe ich zum Abschluss noch die drei roten Herzen hinzugefügt. Sie sorgen außerdem noch für einen dringend benötigten knallige Farbakzent finde ich ;o) Falls ihr auch das ein oder andere Herbstprojekt im Kopf oder auf dem Basteltisch liegen habt, würde ich mich freuen, wenn ihr es mit uns bei den Crafty Cardmaker teilen würdet! I felt like at least one of the little hedgehog's hands needed something in it and so I added the three red hearts as well. Heute möchte ich euch eine weiter meiner Kreationen zeigen ;o) Dieses Mal habe ich die MFT Color Challenge als Inspirationsquelle benutzt:

Today I want to show you another card creation of mine. This time I used the MFT Color Challenge as a starting point :

Das Gelb und das Rot-Orange haben mich sehr an Blütenfarben erinnert und so kam es, dass ich mal zu einem Blumenstempel gegriffen habe. Den habe ich mit Versamark gestempelt und dann weiß embossed, damit ich sie anschließend mit den Distress-Inks etwas leichter kolorieren konnte. Nachdem ich die Farbe an der Luft habe trocknen lassen, habe ich das "Danke sehr" in Braun gestempelt und sowohl klare als auch weiße Sequins aufgeklebt, um die Karte aufzulockern. 

The colours of the challenge reminded me of blooms and so I used a flower stamp (which I do not very often for some reason...) I stamped it using Versamark and heat embossed it in white, so that I could colour it a little easier. After I let the piece air dry I stamped the sentiment ("Thanks a lot") in brown and matted in on a matching piece of paper. For a finishing touch I also added some clear and white sequins.

Heute gibt es noch eine zweite Karte, die dem Stempelküche-Challengethema "von Herzen" folgt.

Hello again! Today I'll show you a secons card which was created for the Stempelküche challenge "hearts".

Obwohl sie recht simpel ausschaut, braucht man viele Schritte, bis die Karte fertig ist: den Hintergrund embossen, das Rechteck ausstanzen und mit den Ink-blending tools im Ombrè-Look einfärben, warten bis die Farbe trocken ist (für mich ist das immer der schwerste Teil) und dann mit der Strukturpaste von Wendy Vecchi die Herzen auftragen. Dabei habe ich zum Schluss noch ein wenig von der Tinte untergemischt, die ich für den Hintergrund verwendet habe, damit auch in den Herzen ein Farbverlauf zu sehen ist. Die Katze habe ich gestempelt und dann mit zig kleinen grauen und drei rosa Herzen umgeben, mit einem 1 1/2" Kreisstanzer ausgestanzt und noch einen 1 3/4" Kreis dahintergelegt, damit sie sich noch ein bisschen mehr absetzt. Zum Schluss habe ich noch das "für dich" mit Staz On auf Vellum gestempelt, ausgestanzt und hinter die Kreise geklebt.

This card might look very simple, but there are quite many steps involved: dry embossing of the background, die cutting the rectangle, colouring it with different shades of pink to achieve an ombrè look, waiting until the ink dries (for me this is always the hardest part) and then putting some embossing paste over it. In order to create a colour gradient I mixed some of the ink I used before into the paste for the hearts on the bottom. Next I stamped the cat and surrounded it with loads of light grey hearts and three pink ones, ounched it out using a 1 1/2" circle punch and then punched another circle that was 1 3/4" wide. In the end I stamped "für dich" ("for you") on a piece of vellum and die cut it again to get a flag shape.
