Oh Happy Day (Cats in Frame)

Hello again ;o)
Today I am back with another inspiration card but this time it was made for the newest PINspirational Challenge. This is the current inspiration picture:

Obsiously I used the cat as an inspiration but also I went with "Oh happy day" as my sentiment because of the famous song ;o) For my card I started by colouring in all those cute cats with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. Next I made a card base from dark pink paper which I also die cut the frame from. I backed the frame with a yellow paper and adhered the cats on top of it.

In order to pay credit to the oevrall grey feel of thge inspiration picture I used a grey paper as my backdrop and adhered the frame over top. And because I had gone with the polka hearts I chose yellow hearts as embellishments on my card. I hope you like it and that you are going to play along with our challenge (maybe again?) this time around ;o) Each picture provides so much inspiration depending on what one focuses on - that is one thing I really love about picture inspirations ;o) have a fabulous week everyone and happy crafting,
yours Maike

Shimmering Butterflies

Hello everyone,
for the newest challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers with the theme "Butterflies" I created this card as an inspiration:

Using a stencil I created the background in an ombre fashion and went on die cutting all the butterflies next. I die cut the big butterfly from some sturdy vellum and die cut the intricate design from the shimmery cardstock next. I did put "Stick It" behind the paper before die-cutting because I am really not good at adhering down tiny things.

I really love the effect the paper gives. Depending on how you tilt it in the light it catches the light differently and thus the card never really looks quite the same...

I added the small butterflies as extra-embellishment and in order to give the eye something to move along with - and yes, I admit it, because I love the paper so much and wanted even more on my card! I hope you are going to join us for our "Butterfly" challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers! Please stay safe, have a wonderful week and happy crafting!!! Yours Maike

Have a happy birthday (elephant)

Heya everyone,
just a quick post today because I am late as it is and the last days have been soooo busy - so I hope you'll forgive me if I don't elaborate too much ;o) This is my inspiration card for the newest Papercraft Challenges challenge ;o) The theme is "Spring" and we are kindly sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs:

I printed the digi stamp on Copic paper as a watermark so that I could only barely see the outlines, because I wanted to go with a light, no-line style for the "Spring" theme. After I had coloured everything in and had added a nice grassy hill and blue sky to the image I die cut the scene with a rounded rectangle die.

I chose a yellow paper for my background to draw the eye towards the birdie even more and also added the lovely tall letters by Altenew which I had die cut from a rainbow patterned paper. I hope you are going to join us at Papercraft Challenges with a "Spring" related project! Please stay safe and have a wonderful weekend everyone! Happy crafting, yours Maike

Dog Gone Awesome Birthday

Hello there,
thank you for stopping by ;o) Today I would like to share with you the card I made for the newest PINspirational Challenge. This is our current inspration picture:

I do not own a lama stamp, so I thought I would use the striped from the background as inspiration plus use an animal and have it be mainly white. Many of my friend's are dog lovers so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to use this cute puppy which is one of my newest stamps. I gave it a present to give to the recipient and made it a birthday card. I love how the white dog looks against the colourful and bright stripes. What do you think?

I hope you are going to join us for this fun and happy challenge. I would love to see your project in our gallery! Please stay safe and happy crafting, everyone ;o) Maike

Celebrate - Gnome

Hello everyone,
"Celebrations" is the theme for the newest Crafty Cardmakers challenge. I love the theme, because it is so versatile and so I created a card with the theme as my sentiment:

I  let the Scan N Cut do the cutting work for me and then coloured the image with Copics. The little bug at the top left makes me smile everytime I look at this image which I think is totally cute, don't you?

The sentiment was created using the letter stickers by Create a Smile, which I love as well. (I make sure never to be without them actually, because they have helped me out of tight spots cardmaking-wise very often in the past...) I hope you are going to create a "Celebrations" themed project as well and share it with us in our gallery! Until then, please stay safe and happy crafting ;o) Yours Maike

Tippe Tappe - a card for a vet

Heya everyone,
I hope you are all doing good and that crafting or other hobbies, people, phone-calls, ... help you through this strange time. Challenge Up Your Life's new theme for the month of May is "Animals", so I am hopeful our gallery will overflow with your lovely projects at the end of the month ;o) This is my inspiration card:

A friend of mine needed a card for a vet who had opened their own office (or is it clinic?) and I had so much fun making this one for her. This is the front of the card and I wanted it to look like you were looking through the windows into the office.

Though the windows you can only see the dog and the cat, but when you open the card...

...you will find a few more animals as well. The card can be opened one more time to give room for a text and - as I understood it - loads of signatures from friends to wish the vet good luck. I hope you like the card and I hope even more that you will link an "Animal" themed project to our gallery at Challenge Up Your Life for us to see! ;o) Please take care everyone and happy crafting, yours Maike

Lifesaver

Heya everyone,
this is my card for the latest PINspirational Challenge! I am a bit late - well very late really, but life is getting in the way all the time recently... So I hope you'll forgive me. This is our challenge inspiration picture, though it is an "Anything Goes" theme at the moment to give everyone the "room" to create whatever is good for them or needed at the moment ;o)

I created the card using a background die by HEllo Bluebird and an older stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.

I hope you are all well and that maybe if you feel like crafting you will share your project with us at PINspirational Challenge! Take care and happy crafting, everyone ;o)))
