Crazy Halloween Witch Magyk Moana

Für die neue Cards und More Challenge lautet das Thema "Halloween" und ich habe hier eine Karte für euch mit einem Digistamp von unserem Sponsor Rick St. Dennis gewerkelt:

The new Cards und More challenge starts today and our theme this time is "Halloween". I made a card for you with one of our kind sponsor's image:

Die Karte habe ich recht schnell zusammengestellt... - nachdem ich fertig war mit dem Colorieren allerdings. Diese leicht crazy aussehende Hexe is super und ich fand es großartig sie mit den "Farben zum Leben zu erwecken", aber das Bild hat viele kleine Details und man benötigt daher ein wenig Zeit und Geduld fürs Ausmalen.

The card was put together very quickly.... - after I had finished the colouring, that is. This crazy looking witch is awesome and I loved bringing her to life, but the image has loads of little details that take a little bit of time to colour.

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit Hilfe einer Technik gestaltet, die ich auf Pinterest gefunden habe (klick), die mit der Blenderflüssigkeit diesen Blaseneffekt gibt. Zum Glück habe ich dieses Mal daran gedacht eine oder besser diese Technik zu verwenden bevor ich angefangen hatte die Hexe auszumalen. Das ist wichtig, denn hätte ich sie schon ausgemalt gehabt, wäre der Effekt sicher nicht so schön geworden, weil ich mich von "ihr" hätte fern halten müssen. So konnte ich  den Hintergrund malen, wie ich es sonst auch immer mache, nämlich von hell (am Image) nach dunkel (Richtung der Ränder) und bedenkenlos Blender über sie drüber tropfen lassen ;o) Mit verschiedenen Werkzeugen  (Bleistiftende mit Radiergummi, einem Prägestift mit Kugelende und einem Papp"stift" zum Verblenden von Bleistiftfarben) habe ich dann die Flüssigkeit aufgetragen und so die unterschiedlich großen und intensiven Blasen erhalten. Wenn ihr die Technik auch so klasse findet wie ich, solltet ihr euch unbedingt mal das kurze Tutorial ansehen.

The background was created with a technique I found on Pinterest (click) using the blender fluid to achieve a bubble effect. Fortunately I had thought about it, before I had coloured the witch! Otherwise it would have looked blurry as well. What I did was to colour the violet background as I usually would going from light (near to the image) to dark (towards the edges) Before I had coloured anything else I put various sizes of drops of the blender fluid on the background using the back of a pencil, a stump for blending pencils and also a scoring tool with a ball-end. Bei Challenge Up Your Life gibt es heute wieder eine neue Herausforderung. Es geht um das Thema "Die-Cutting". Ich glaube, es gibt kaum eine Karte von mir, die komplett ohne auskommt, daher ist es mir nicht ganz so schwer gefallen wie beim letzten Mal (Ihr erinnert euch? Die Knopfkarte???)  eine Inspirationskarte zu basteln.

There is a new challenge over at Challenge Up your Life as of now and the theme for the coming fortnight is "die-cutting". Hardly any card of mine is without die-cutting, so I didn't get as many headaches making this inspiration card as I did last time. (You might remember? The card with the buttons???)

Als Inspirationskarte versuche ich natürlich immer etwas zu machen, bei dem man das Thema gut erkennt und darum habe ich drüber nachgedacht, wann ich meine Stanzen wirklich am meisten brauche. Das ist zum einen, wenn ich ein Fenster haben möchte und Stempel benutze, die man als "Front and Backs" kennt. Hier seht ihr nur die Rücken der lustigen Waschbären, aber wenn man die Karte auf macht...

I always try to create an inpiration card where the theme of the challenge is obvious or otherwise very important for it. I thought about when I needed my dies the most and came up with two things: Dies are essential for me when I want to cut a window in my card and also when I use stamps that have a front and a back image. When the card is closed you can only see the racoons backs, but when you open it up...

sieht man auch ihre süßen Gesichter. :o) In der Vergangenheit habe ich schon mal versucht, die Stempel per Hand auszuschneiden und passend aufeinanderzukleben (wie hier: klick), aber das hat mich nie so ganz überzeugt und es hat natürlich auch viel länger gedauert. Mit den passenden Stanzen dagegen sieht es richtig gut und professionell aus ;o)))

you can see their lovely and cute faces ;o) In the past I have tried fussy cutting the images (like with this card: click), but I was never completely happy with the result - and it takes a lot more time of course. Now with the matching dies it looks really good and professional ;o)))

Ich liebe diesen Stempel von Art Impressions und deshalb musste er so kurz vor Halloween auf jeden Fall hier noch einen Auftritt haben:

I love this stamp from Art Impressions which is why I had to turn it into a card before Halloween is over:

Die Kiddies in ihren süßen Kostümen habe ich mich Copics coloriert, dann den Boden und einen ganz hellblauen Umriss hinzugefügt. Nachdem ich damit zufrieden war, habe ich die Szene ausgestanzt und anschließend auf ein Papier geklebt, dass ein ganz klein bisschen größer ist. Den Rand dieses Papier hatte ich zuvor mit dem R27 Stift einen roten Rand gemalt, weil ich keinen Cardstock gefunden habe, der so richtig gut passte.

I coloured the image in using Copic markers and added the ground as well as a very light blue halo around the kids.  After I was satisfied with the colouring I die cut the scene out and matted in on a piece of paper that is just slightly larger than the die cut. I have coloured the edges of this paper with the R27 maker I had used on the image a few times, because I couldn't find a red paper that had the right tone of red. 

Die Papiere für den Kartenspruch habe ich ebenfalls mit Copics coloriert und zurechtgeschnitten. Das "happy halloween" habe ich in Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black gestempelt und mit klarem Pulver embosst. 

I also coloured the papers for my sentiment strips using Copic markers and cut the different edges with my scissors. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink and put clear embossing powder on top to give it some shine.

Spinnercard Mouse / Mauskarte

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Es war eine ereignisreiche Woche mit vielen tollen Ereignissen: ein ganz wichtiger Geburtstag (nein, nicht meiner *grins), einer Party, Essen gehen mit lieben Freunden, der Spielemesse und einem Besuch bei Jürgen von der Lippe. Daher gab es am Freitag auch keinen Post. Heute mach ich es aber wieder gut mit einer Spinner-Card - also einer Karte, die ein Motiv hat, das sich beim Öffnen dreht. Es macht total Laune, sie immer wieder aufzudrehen und aufzumachen. ;o)

Hello my dear crafty friends!

This was a very brilliant but busy week with lots of fun events: a very important birthday (nope, not mine *grin), a party, going out for dinner with very dear friends, a boardgame fair and tickets to a show of Jürgen von der Lippe who is a very well known comedian in Germany. All those activities didn't leave me with much time for posting. However, I will make it up to you with today's spinner card. It is the very first one I have ever made and I had so much fun with it. :o)

Da es meine erste Spinner-Karte ist, habe ich einen Fehler gemacht, den ich hoffentlich nie wieder machen werde: Ich habe nicht darauf geachtet, dass meine Karte nach oben hin geöffnet wird und damit die Maus auf dem Kopf steht. Also, solltet ihr auch mal ein solches Drehelement einbauen wollen, denkt an mich und schenkt euch die Frustfalten ;o)

Because this was my very first spinner card I made a big mistake: I used a top-folding card for my base and that way the mouse will be upside down when the recipient opens the card. So, think of me when you make your next or first spinner card and safe yourself the frustration ;o)

Habt ihr euch gefragt, wo man den Text für solche Karten hinschreibt? Ich mich auch und daher habe ich das ausgestanzte Oval im oberen Teil gefalzt und so auf die Kartenbasis geklebt, dass man es hochklappen kann. Darunter passt auf jeden Fall ein kurzer Geburtstagsgruß.

Did you ever ask yourself where one would write on a card like this? I did and after some thinking I decided to score the top part of the oval that I had die cut from the card front and to glue it to the inside of the card. Below it you have enough space for a short birthday message.

Hier könnt ihr die Maus auch einmal von der anderen Seite sehen ;o) Das Motiv ist wirklich super niedlich und es hat viel Spaß gemacht es zu colorieren. Das Ausschneiden hat mit allerdings nicht so gut gefallen, weshalb ich mir bei nächster Gelegenheit noch die passenden Stanzen zulegen werde!

Here you can see the back of the image ;o) I love this cute mouse and I had heaps of fun colouring it. The only thing I didn't really like all that much was fussy cutting it (because you need to be extra precise when you do it and cutting the tail out was a bit tricky) so I will have to get the coordinating dies as well!
