Happy New Year... Again?!

Hallo meine Lieben!

Vielleicht wundert ihr euch über den Titel, aber es gibt eine Geschichte zu diesem Titel. Einerseits startet bei den Crafty Cardmakers heute eine neue Challenge mit dem Thema "New Beginnings" und dazu passt ein Neujahrsprojekt doch fantastisch, oder? Andererseits sind unsere Pläne Silvester mit Freunden zu feiern ins Wasser gefallen und daher haben wir beschlossen, einfach das chinesische Neujahr zu feiern. Das ist am 28. Januar und das neue Jahr ist das Jahr des Feuer-Hahns.... Na, seht ihr, wo meine Inspiration herkam? ;o)

Heya my dear crafty friends!

Maybe you are wondering why my post is hinting towards a New Years project, but there is a story to this post...For one thing there is a new challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers with the theme "New beginnings" and a New Years project is quite fitting, wouldn't you agree?  Also we couldn't celebrate New Years Eve as planned this (last) year, because our friend were ill and so we thought we would go ahead and celebrate the Chinese New year which will be on the 28th of January. It will be the year of the fire rooster... any ideas where I got my inspiration from? ;o)

Die Boxen habe ich mit einer Silhouette Studio Datei ausgeschnitten und nur ganz wenig dekoriert, weil besagte Freunde nicht so sehr auf bunt und kitschig stehen. ;o) Der Glückskeks ist mit einer stanze von Sizzix gemacht und ich habe nur noch ein rotes Tag ausgeschnitten und eine Nachricht draufgeschrieben.

The take-away boxes are a cut file from Silhouette Studio and I used minimal decorations because my friends are not too much into colourful and heavily embellished things. ;o) The fortune cookie is a by Sizzix and all I did to embellish it a little bit was to cut a red tag and write a message on it.

Auf dem Crafty Cardmakers Blog gibt es heute eine neue Challenge zum Thema "Zeit". Es war anfangs ein schwieriges Thema für mich, aber dann fiel mir ein, dass ein lieber Freund in den letzten Zügen seiner Doktorarbeit ist. Der Spruch passt klasse, weil er wirklich viel Zeit investiert hat und mit diesen Gedanken im Kopf ging mir die Karte deutlich leichter von der Hand.

Heya my dear, creative friends!

We have a new challenge for you over at the Crafty Cardmakers blog and our theme is "time". It took me quite some time to figure out what I wanted to create, but then I thought of a friend of mine who is about to finish his doctoral dissertation after quite a lot of time of studies and research. With this thought in my head and a sentiment that I really liked making the card was a lot easier than I had anticipated.

 

Als erstes habe ich die Uhr mittig auf mein Papier gestempelt und anschließend Distress Inks in den Farben Salty Ocean und Picked Raspberries aufgepinselt. Nachdem die Farbe getrocknet war, habe ich die weißen und goldfarbenen Farbkleckse aufgesprenkelt und den inneren Teil der Uhr ausgeschnitten.

First I stamped the watch in the middle of my paper and brushed on Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberries. After the ink was dry I flicked gold and white splatters on top and also cut out the inner part of the watch.

Zum Schluss habe ich den Spruch in Archival Black aufgestempelt, weil ich damit immer einen ganz guten Abdruck bekomme und habe dann das Papier mit Abstandshaltern auf die mit Uhren geprägte Kartenbasis geklebt.

Next I stamped the sentiment in Archival Black Ink and mounted it on top of the dry embossed card base using foam tape.

Christmas Series Card # 8 / Weihnachtsserie Karte # 8 (Elf on Shelf) :o)

This cute elf wanted to be on a card for the longest time and now - he is. He was just to perfect for this fortnights {PIN}spirational challenge ;o) (You can find the inspiration picture further down in this post.) Our sponsor this time is Aurora Wings and as always you can win a prize for her store!

Das Motiv besteht eigentlich aus zwei Stempeln, daher musste ich mit einer Maske arbeiten. Zuerst habe ich den Wichtel gestempelt, anschließend dann das Bücherregal mit dem Tannenbaum und den Büchern. Nach dem Colorieren habe ich noch Titel auf die Bücher geschrieben und Schrift auf der "Naughty or Nice" - Liste angedeutet. Eigentlich war damit die Karte fertig, aber irgendwie war sie mir im unteren Bereich dann doch zu leer. Um das schnell zu ändern, habe ich einen meiner Prägefolder herausgesucht und auf den unteren Teil der Karte Geschenke geprägt. Nun war ich zufrienden ;o)

The image actually consists of two stamps, so I needed to do a bit of masking. First I stamped the little guy, next the shelf with the books and the little tree on top. After I had coloured everything in and had stamped the sentiment I used a Copic Multiliner to write the titles of the books and also to give the appearance of writing on the "Naughty or Nice" - list. Now my card was done - had I stuck to my original idea. However I felt like the card was a bit too empty, so I used one of my embossing folders to give the bottom of the card base a bit more interest. Now I was happy with the result ;o)

Monochrome Card - Inspiration für die Stempelküche Challenge

Hallöchen zusammen!!!

Heute habe ich meine zweite Karte für die Stempelküche Challenge für euch. Das Thema dieses Mal lautet:

Hello everyone!!!

Today I'd like to show you my second card as guest-designer on the Stempelküche Challenge Blog. This coming fortnight's theme is "monochrome".

Aus irgendeinem Grund hat es ziemlich lange gedauert, bis ich mich entschieden hatte, in welche Richtung mein Beitrag gehen sollte. Am Ende habe ich mich für eine sanfte Farbe ("Fresh Peach" von Hero Arts) auf weißem Hintergrund entschieden.

For some reason it took me quite some time to figure out where I wanted to go with my entry. In the end I decided on a soft colour ("Fresh Peach" by Hero Arts) on a white background.

Ich habe verschiedene Muster in Fresh Peach auf weißes Papier gestempelt und diese mit einer 6-Eck-Stanze von Sizzix ausgeschnitten. Danach habe ich die Teile so auf der Kartenbasis arrangiert, dass möglichst keine gleichen Muster nebeneinander lagen. Den ausgestanzten Schmetterling habe ich mit der gleichen Farbe "abgeschwämmt" und nur den Körper auf die Karte geklebt, damit man die Flügel aufstellen kann. Anschließend habe ich drei Mal den Geburtstaggruß ausgestanzt und aufeinandergeklebt, damit es sich noch mehr vom Hintergrund anheben kann. Zum Schluss bin ich über das "happy birthday" mit meinem Wink of Stella Glitterpen drüber gegangen - jetzt schimmert es richtig schön, wenn man die Karte in der Hand dreht.

I stamped a couple of different patterns in "Fresh Peach" on some white cardstock and cut them out using a hexagon die by Sizzix. I then arranged the pieces on my card base, so that no identical pattern lay next to each other and glued the body of the butterfly down. This way you can still lift up its wings to give the card more dimension. I cut out the "happy birthday" word die three times and glued them on top of each other to give the sentiment a little something more and also added my Wink of Stella Clear Glitterpen over it. Now it has this really nice shimmer when you move the card.

Dieses Mal haben mich die Farben richtig angesprochen! (Manchmal fällt es mir ja etwas schwerer mich auf die Farben einzulassen...)

And another card today... You guessed right. I used another challenge as inspiration for this card: CAS - Colours and Sketches #110. This time I really loved the colours. (Sometimes I have problems grouping colours together that are given by a challenge host...)

Ich mag neben der super süßen Eule vor allem die vielen Ebenen durch das Embossing und die verschiedenen Lagen Papier. Trotz allem ist die Karte aber nicht zu dick geworden und würde sicherlich auch eine Reise mit der Post gut überstehen.
