Precious Baby

Hello my friends,

I have been super busy with the first few days at school this week - everything is different and strange and there is a lot of need for reflecting on how things went and adjusting to it for the next day. So I hope you will forgive that I am very, very late publishing the newest PINspirational Challenge inspiration card... This is the super cute inspiration picture:

I obviously went with the theme, but also thought I would like to use a grey card base and, as the baby clothes are kind of in the focus, I used a onesie as my focus element as well. But as you can see I felt that a baby card needed a bit more colour, so I decided to go with greens and blues as well.

Welcome in Plaid

Heya everyone!
This is the inspiration picture for the newest challenge at PINspirational and you can see the card I made for it above ;o) I tried making a black and white card but try as I might I never liked the result, so I went back to playing with my lovely bright colours ;o)

For my card I used a piece of patterned paper by Lawn Fawn with lovely orange and pink stripes. I die cut the frame and coloured the inside piece with Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Worn Lipstick and really loved the effect. Even more so after flicking some droplets of water on the surfice and taking it off again quickly afterwards with a towel. The cute stuffed elephant is an older image by Clearly Besotted, but any cute image iin a sitting position should work for this layout I think. 

The sentiment was stamped and then I went over it with a glaze pen to give it more dimension. And simply because I feel that stuffed toys should never be alone I stamped to more on the inside of the card. I hope you are going to join us with one of your wonderful projects! Heya my friends!

The current task for Challenge Up Your Life is this colour inspiration board:

Da es bei uns im Freundeskreis kürzlich Zuwachs gab und ich die Farbkombination wirklich schön finde, habe ich sie als Inspiration genutzt, um den neuen Erdenbürger willkommen zu heißen. Den Hintergrund habe ich in verschiedenen Tönen der Inspirationsvorlage gestempelt und einen der süßen Pinguine von Gerda Steiner Designs coloriert.

Friend's of ours recently got blessed with their third child and so I used the colour inspiration and staring point for my card to welcome the new earthling ;o) I started by stamping the dots in the background in different colours from the inspiration board and also coloured one of the cute penguins by Gerda Steiner Designs. 

Der ist auf ein ausgestanztes Stück Vellum gehopst und hat es sich damit auf der Karte gemütlich gemacht ;o) Die Buchstaben für den Namen stammen von Create a Smile und sind meine absoluten "Go-To" Alphabetsticker geworden, weil sie eine prima Größe haben, wie ich finde ;o) 

The penguin then jumped on a piece of vellum and with it got comfortable on the front of the card. For the name I used letter stickers from Create a Smile, which became my "go-to" alphabet stickers in the last months, because they simply have a perfect size and you get them in almost every colour ;o)

Rund ums Thema "Baby" soll sich alles in den nächsten 2 Wochen bei Challenge Up Your Life drehen und das hier ist meine Inspirationskarte dazu:

Heya my dear crafty friends!

"Baby" is the theme for our newest challenge at Challenge Up Your Life and this is my inspiration card for you:

Zuerst habe ich eine ganze Menge Dreicke ausgestanzt und als Girlande direkt auf die Kartenbasis geklebt. Dabei habe ich darauf geachtet, dass ich ausreichend Platz für den Spruch und den Rahmen haben würde, die ja auch noch mit auf die Karte drauf sollten. Aus weißem Cardstock habe ich den Rahmen ausgestanzt und ein weißes Papier, das ein klitzekleines bisschen kleiner war als der Rahmen im Ombre-Look eingefärbt. Dazu habe ich Distress Oxide Inks in den Farben "Lucky Clover", "Mowed Lawn" and "Twisted Citron" benutzt. 

I started with die cutting lots and lots of little banner shapes which I glued directly to the card base, making sure I had enough room for the sentiment and the frame I wanted to add to the card front. Next I die cut the frame from white card stock and coloured a pice of paper that was just a tiny bit smaller than the frame with Distress Oxide Inks. I used the colours "Lucky Clover", "Mowed Lawn" and "Twisted Citron" to create the ombre background for my Mama Bear and her little one.  

Mama Bär habe ich mit Copics der E10er-Familie coloriert, da ich einen warmen Ton für sie haben wollte. Das Baby habe ich in zarten Rosatönen (RV04, RV02 und R30) coloriert. Das Wort "Welcome" habe ich zuerst nur gestempelt gehabt, aber weil mir das zu schmal und zu unauffällig war, bin ich später noch mit dem Glaze Pen (mit dem ich auch immer einen Klecks auf die Augen setze) drüber gegangen und liebe das leicht erhabene, tiefschwarze Finish. 

I coloured the Mama Bear usiing Copics from the E10 family, because I wanted to give her a slightly reddish fur. The baby was coloured with RV04, RV02 and R30 to give her that soft pink look. When I stamped the word "Welcome" I thought it would have enough "standing" to fill the top of the coloured pice, but it didn't really. So I wrote over it with my beloved Glaze Pen which I always use for the eyes of critters and I think the result looks great.

Baby Girl Penguin Card

Für die aktuelle PINspirational Challenge zum Thema "Baby" habe ich mit den total süßen Pinguinen von Gerda Steiner Designs eine Karte gewerkelt:

I made this card as inspiration for the current "Baby" themed PINspirational Challenge using the adorable penguins from Gerda Steiner Designs:

Zuerst habe ich die Pinguine zwei Mal mit Memento Ink gestempelt ohne zwischendurch neue Farbe aufzunehmen (also 2nd-Generation-Stamping) und die beiden Süßen anschließend mit Copics coloriert. Den kleinen Pinguin habe ich etwas fluffiger gemalt, weil die Babys ja doch etwas puscheliger sind. Als nächstes habe ich die beiden ausgestanzt, auf eine weiteres, rosa Stanzteil geklebt und den Spruch "Baby Girl" in schwarz dazu gestempelt. 

I used the second-generation-stamping technique to get a very light grey outline for the penguins using Memento Ink and coloured the image in using Copic markers. I made the little one look a bit more fluffy, because I gathered that penguin babies look more puffed up because of their fine feathers if that makes sense ;o) Next I cut them out using the large scallop die, glued that element on another pink die cut piece and also stamped the sentiment in black.

Nun wurde es Zeit sich um den Hintergrund zu kümmern. Dazu habe ich mit einem Bleistift einige parallele Linien mit dem Bleistift gezogen und das Wort "welcome" der Linie folgend immer wieder nebeneinander gestempelt. Nachdem ich diese wieder ausradiert hatte, habe ich mit rosa Herzchen ein paar Lücken aufgefüllt. Die Farbe hilft auch dabei, dass das Auge auch den sanften Hintergrund wahrnimmt. Now it was time to work on the card base. I stamped the word "welcome" repeatedly over the card front using "Fog" ink by Simon Says Stamp. I had drawn some pencil lines to keep the angle the same for all of the stamping. After I erased those lines I filled in some areas with pink hearts to give the background more interest,. A Star is Born - baby card

heute wartet bei den PINspirational Challenges wieder einmal ein neues Inspirationsbild auf euch:

Heya my dear crafty friends,

we have a new inspirational picture for you over at the PINspirational challenge blog: 

Ich hab mich sofort in die Farben verliebt und meine Karte daher überwiegend in beige und weiß gehalten. Damit keine Langeweile aufkommt, habe ich mit vielen verschiedenen Texturen gearbeitet: dem Teddy habe ich mit Blenderflüssigkeit und einem alten Tuch etwas Teddyfell verpasst und die Kartenbasis wurde erst mit der Stanze von MFT durchgenudelt und fiel dann noch einem Sternen-Embossingfolder zum Opfer ;o)

I fell in love with the colour scheme instantly and so I kept my card mainly in beige and white. However, I didn't want to bore the recipient, so I added a lot of texture: teddy's fur with an old rag and some blender fluid and the card base was sent through the Big Shot with the awesome die by MFT and then put through again with an embossing folder around it ;o)

Um die Girlande auf der linken Wand im Inspirationsbild noch aufzunehmen, habe ich ich mit Liquid Pearls in Platinum zusätzlich noch Girlanden auf die Kartenbasis getupft - das schimmert so schön, wenn man es im Lich hin- und herbewegt.

I wanted to include the banner on the left wall of the inspirational picture in my card as well, so I added lots of banners with Liquid Pearls Platinum to the background as well - that gives the card a slight shimmer, which I really like.

For the Crafty Cardmakers I made two cards with many layers for the current challenge "Layer it up":

Beim Durchzählen kam ich auf sechs Lagen, sieben, wenn man den Rahmen mitzählt. Ich habe hierfür das erste mal die "Tag Builder" von MFT "herausgekramt" und finde, dass sich die Investition wirklich gelohnt hat. Ich mag die vielen Möglichkeiten, die einem das Set bietet ;o)

If you count the frame I have seven layers on this card. For the first time I got to play with the "Tag Builder" set by MFT and really think they were worth the investment. I like the many different styles you can get with this set ;o)

Baby Giraffe

Manchmal wird man ja sogar noch von der Geburt eines Babys überrascht, entweder, weil es doch ein bisschen früher wurde als geplant oder weil Dein Partner vergessen hat Dir frühzeitig zu sagen, dass er oder sie bald eine braucht. Egal was war, hier habe ich - inspiriert durch die neue Aufgabe auf dem Challenge Up Your Life Blog - eine fixe, aber wirklich niedliche Babykarte für euch:

Heya my dear crafty friends!

Sometimes even the birth of a baby can come as a surprise, either because it decides to come a bit too earlier into our world or maybe because your spouse forgot to tell you in advance that a baby card is soon needed. No matter what is is, I have a card for you that is cute and quick to make. I was inspired by the newest task at the Challenge Up Your Life blog, where we would like to see your take on the theme "Baby" for the next two weeks.

Als erstes habe ich die "Watercolor Stripes" auf die Kartenbasis gestempelt und sie trocknen lassen. Währenddessen habe ich die Giraffe mit "Archival Ink" auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt und mit Zigs coloriert.

First I stamped the "Watercolor Stripes" on the card base and let it dry. Next I stamped the giraffe on some watercolor paper with Archival Ink and coloured it in using Zig markers. 

Die Giraffe habe ich mit der Schere ausgeschnitten und dann das kleine Rechteck aus Transparentpapier ausgestanzt, damit die Giraffe einen Platz zum gemütlichen Sitzen hat ;o) So hatte ich genug Fläche, um die beiden Elemente auf meine Karte zu kleben, ohne, dass man den Kleber durchschimmern sieht. Zuletzt habe ich den Spruch "Welcome Baby" unter die Giraffe gestempelt und meine Karte war fertig.

I fussy cut the giraffe and also die cut a small rectangle from vellum and glued the giraffe on top. That way I had a large enough area to glue it to the card with some foam tape without the adhesive showing through. Lastly I stamped the sentiment right beneath the vellum piece.

Welcome Baby Girl

Ich wünsche euch einen wunderschönen Samstag! Heute startet die neue Challenge bei Challenge Up Your Life und dieses Mal fordern wir eure Kreativität heraus: Gerne würden wir auf euren Projekten Gegenstände sehen, diees in jedem Haushalt zu finden gibt. Ich habe eine Büroklammer zu einem Mini-Kleiderbügel für den Strampler umfunktioniert:

I hope you are all having a good start into a fabulous weekend. What would be better than to start the weekend with a new challenge from the Challenge Up Your Life blog?! This time we would like to see projects that incorporate ordinary household items. I transformed a paper clip into a miniature clothes hanger for the onesie:

Die Anleitung dazu habe ich auf Pinterest gefunden (klick) und habe mir auch direkt ein paar zurechtgebogen, obwohl ich für die Karte nur einen brauchte. Die Mitte des Papiers sollte glatt bleiben (damit ich darauf noch stempeln konnte), weshalb ich mich für die Methode des Teil-Embossings entschieden habe. Dazu habe ich einen "Diffuser" von Tim Holtz benutzt und ich finde klasse, dass die Herzchen zur Mitte etwas undeutlicher werden.

I found the instructions on Pinterest (click) and already made a few, even though I just needed one for the card. I wanted the area in the center of the panel to remain smooth (for staming on it) so I used partial dry embossing. To achieve the look I used a "Diffuser" by Tim Holtz and I love how the hearts are fading out towards the middle.

Da ich für die Kartenbasis eine Farbe haben wollte, die zu dem Strampler passt, habe ich mich dazu entschieden mit Picked Rasperry Distress Ink einen Ombre-Verlauf aufzutragen und auch noch das kleine Stück Papier für das "Baby Girl" einzufärben. Nachdem ich den Kartenspruch gestempelt habe, habe ich alle anderen Element auf das weiße Papier aufgeklebt und dieses dann mit Moosgummi hinterlegt, um mehr Tiefe zu erhalten und gleichzeitig zu verhindern, dass es irgendwo "einsinkt".


Because I wanted the card base to match the colour of the onesie I used Picked Rasperry Distress Ink to create a slight ombre effect and also coloured a tine piece of paper for the "Baby Girl" part of the sentiment. After stamping the sentiment I assembled all the elements on the panel and pane and put that on the card base using some fun foam beneath it for a bit of dimension.

ENTlich bist Du da

Dies hier ist meine vierte und leider auch schon letzte Gastdesign Karte für den Gerda Steiner Blog.

Hello my dear crafty friends!

This is my fourth and unfortunately last card for my guest design over at the Gerda Steiner Designs blog.

Ich wollte den Kartenspruch unter den Enten stehen habe, weshalb ich beim Stempeln des süßen Federviehs darauf geachtet habe, ausreichend Platz nach unten zu lassen. Nachdem ich alle Abdrücke aufgestempelt hatte, holte ich die Copics raus und machte mich an die Arbeit sie zu colorieren. Den Rest habe ich dann im Anschluss hinzugemalt. Es hat sich herausgestellt, dass es am einfachsten war zuerst ein ganz helles Blau für den Himmel zu benutzen und erst dann das Gras hinzuzufügen. Ganz zum Schluss kam dann das kühle Nass hinzu.

I knew I wanted the sentiment to be below the ducks so I made sure to leave enough space. Once I had stamped all the images, I coloured them in using Copic markers. Next I added the grass at the shore and the water.

Als ich die Buchstaben für meinen Spruch ausgestanzt habe, habe ich bewusst die ersten drei als Gro- und die weiteren als Kleinbuchstaben ausgestanzt, um das Wortspiel noch ein wenig mehr hervorzuheben. Nachdem ich den unteren Teil mit Versamark gestempelt und dann weiß embossed habe, hab ich die Buchstaben mit Abstandshaltern aufgeklebt.

When I die cut the letters for the sentiment I deliberately die cut the first ones in capital letters to emphasize the play on words here. The sentiment means "Finally you are here", but usually you would spell the first word a bit differently. I purposely misspelled it and wrote "ENTlich", because in German the word "Ente" means duck. After I had heat embossed the second part of the sentiment I adhered the die cut letters and glued the panel to a white card base.

Welcome Baby Boy

Hallo ihr Lieben!
Endlich schaffe ich es, den ersten Post für das Jahr 2016 zu verfassen! Irgendwie gibt es aber gerade am Jahresanfang bei uns immer so viel zu feien... Ich hoffe, ihr seid gut ins Neue Jahr gerutscht und dass 2016 zum bisher kreativsten Jahr für euch wird! Da hätte ich auch gleich eine Idee, wo ihr eure kreativen Talente einsetzen könntet, denn ab heute gibt es wieder eine neue Challenge auf dem {PIN}spirational Challenge Blog! Das Inspirationsbild zeigt eine wunderschöne, weiße Eule und soll eure Kreativität anregen. Wie immer lohnt sich das Mitmachen, weil unsere Sponsoren "Kitty Bee Design" und "Bugaboo Digi Stamps" tolle Preise für euch bereitgestellt haben ;o) Ich habe die süße Eule von Kitty Bee Design benutzt. Eigentlich sitzt sie auf einem Ast, aber da ich den Stempel als Buchstaben "O" einsetzen wollte, habe ich den einfach weggeschnitten. So macht man ganz einfach mehr aus dem, was man hat ;o)

Finally I get around to publishing my first post for the year 2016! There are just so many things to celebrate right at the beginning of January in our family... I hope you had a great start and that this year will be your most creative one yet! Coincidentally I know just the place where you could show your talents: Over at the {PIN}spirational challenge blog we have a new inspiration picture for you! It shows a very beautiful, white owl and we hope that it will start your creative juices. Our kind sponsors "Kitty Bee Design" and "Bugaboo Digi Stamps" offer great prizes for the winners. ;o) I used an image from Kitty Bee Design on my card. Usually it sits on a branch, but because I wanted to substitute it for the letter "O", I simply cut away the branch and thus got even more use out of it:

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit einer Schablone und meinem neuen Copic Airbrush System kreiert - ich mag das ja so gerne, wenn man die Farben so schön abstimmen kann. Die Ränder der Wolken sind nicht besonders klar definiert, was vermutlich daran liegt, dass ich die Schablone nicht flächig aufgeklebt hatte und sie sich durch den Luftdruck bewegt hat. Für diese Karte finde ich den Effekt sogar ganz schön, muss mir aber auf Dauer sicher was einfallen lassen, wie ich das besser hinbekomme. Ich übe ja auch noch ;o) Falls ihr Tipps für mich habt, bitte immer her damit ;o)

I made the background piece using my new Copic Airbrush system - as you might know already, I love to match the colour of my elements and with the Airbrush system I could have the same colour pallette on the owl, the letters and the clouds ;o) This makes me very happy ;o) For some reason though, the edges of the clouds are now all that well defined, which I really like for this card, but I will have to figure out ho to get sharper edges in the future... Maybe it was because I didn't glue the whole stencil down?! If you have any tips for me, that would be very much appreciated ;o)

Die Luftballons habe ich aus Designerpapier ausgestanzt und mit passenden Copics so coloriert, dass oben ein Highlight zu sehen ist. Danach musste ich einfach nur noch alles auf am richtigen Ort auf der Karte festkleben ;o)

I die cut the balloons from some patterned paper and used matching Copics to create a highlight on their tops. Now all that was left to do was to glue everything in place ;o)

Babykarte mit wilden Tieren/ Baby card with wild animals

Heute gibt es mal einen schnellen Post von mir - ohne viel Geschnatter ;o) 

Hello my dear crafty friends!

Today I have a very quick post for you - without much chatter :o)

Letzte Woche wurde eine neue Erdenbürgerin geboren und jetzt grinst sie schon breit in die Welt hinein. Natürlich wollte ich sie mit einer Karte begrüßen. Um diese herzustellen habe ich die süßen Tiere aus dem Set "Wild Thing" von Clearly Besotted auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt und mit Wasserfarben ausgemalt. Dazu habe ich als erstes den Löwen gestempelt, mit einer Maske abgedeckt und dann seine beiden Freunde dazu gestempelt. Als Stempelfarbe habe ich "Jet Black Archival Ink" von Ranger benutzt, weil sie sich durch Wasser nicht anlösen lässt.

Last week we had a new arrival in our extended family and now she is already smiling brightly into the world. Of course I wanted to greet her with a card. In order to create it I stamped and coloured the cute animals from the "Wild Thing" stamp set by Clearly Besotted. First I stamped the lion, masked it off and stamped its two friends. I used watercolour paper and "Jet Black Archival Ink" by Ranger because I wanted to use the Gansai Tambi watercolours I had been neglecting for a while. 

Nachdem die drei Wilden trocken waren, habe ich den Hintergrund dazugemalt und außerdem einen Streifen Papier in Ombre-Fashion rot angemalt. Daraus habe ich die Buchstaben für den Namen des Babys ausgestanzt und über die Köpfe der Tiere geklebt. Das "Welcome" habe ich danach noch dazu gestempelt. Zum Schluss habe ich eine gelbe Kartenbasis von Hero Arts mit einem Hintergrundstempel bestempelt und die Kanten mit einem etwas dunkleren Geld ("Lemon Drop" von My Favorite Things") gewischt.

After everything was coloured in I added the background and also coloured a strip of paper red in an ombre fashion. After that was dry I glued the letters above the animal's heads and stamped the word "welcome" on top of that. I used a yellow Hero Arts notecard as my card base, added the background stamping on top of it and also  distressed the edges a little using "Lemon Drop" Ink by My Favorite Things.

Meine erste Karte mit einem richtigen Createasmile-Stempel. Ich habe ja schon einmal ihr Monster-Freebie zu einer Karte verwurschtelt, aber ich mag richtige Stempel einfach so viel lieber, weil ich damit das Gefühl habe mehr machen zu können...

This is my first card with a real Createasmile stamp. It is a small German company with a rather wide range of products for their young age ;o) A few weeks ago I made a card using one of their monster-freebies, but I do prefer real stamps because I feel like I can do so much more with them than with digital stamps...

Das ausgestanzte Rechteck habe ich mit zwei verschiedenen Embossingfoldern jeweils teilweise durch meine Big Shot geschickt, so dass ein relativ breiter Streifen ungeprägt blieb. Darauf habe ich dann sowohl das süße Tierchen (Fuchs?) als auch den Spruch gestempelt. Für den Gruß habe ich das Embossingpulver von Zing in der Farbe Aqua benutzt. Die Pfoten vom Fuchs habe ich noch ein weiteres Mal gestempelt,  koloriert und ausgeschnitten, so dass ich sie noch einmal erhöht aufkleben konnte, um mehr Tiefe zu bekommen.

I put the die cut panel through my Big Shot using two different  embossing folders (one at a time though) and left an area big enough for my stampin free of the embossing. I stamped the animal (fox?) to the left in Memeonto Ink and the sentiment more to the right with Versamark and added Zing embossing powder in "Aqua". I stamped and coloured the foxes paws a second time, so that I could fussy cut them out. I glued them on with some rolled up glue dots for just a tiny bit of dimension.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann noch das süße Band, das als Dankeschön mit ihm Paket war unten um die Karte gewickelt und den Knoten mit einem Herzchen abgedeckt. Damit dort alles an Ort und Stelle bleibt habe ich den Knoten an der Karte und das Herz am Knoten festgeklebt ;o)

To finish off my card I added the striped blue twine and covered the knot with a little pink heart. I glued both (the knot and the heart) down using Multi Medium Matte by Ranger.
