Fröhliche Weihnachten (lamb)

Heya everyone!

I am back with another Christmas card... I know it is January, but I also know I was very (!!!) short on Christmas cards this time and I really need to stock up on them ;o) So I hope you don't mind seeing some more:

I made this one for the new "Anything Goes" challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers. Perfect for my plans... and maybe your plans, too? To create this card I first stamped the circular sentiment which means "Meryy Christmas" in English on my piece of white Perfect Colouring paper and die cut the panel from that paper. Next I masked the stamped area as well as the edges and created the ink blended background using Distress Inks. (The colours I used were Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet.) 

When the ink had dried I stamped the beautiful snowflakes all over it using Versamark Ink. I love the subtle effect that gives to any background! Now it was time to peel off the masks and stamp the cute lamb inside the still white area. I coloured it using Copic markers (E55, E53, E51 and E50 for the body, E39, RV09 and RV06 for the scarf and mittens and mostly Y08 for the star with just a tiny bit of Y17 to give it a little dimension.)

With a bit of Diamond Stickles on the star and some white and white blizzard Nuvo drops on the snowflakes my card was done. I hope you are going to join us for our "Anything Goes" challenge and share your talent in our gallery! Have a wonderful week and happy crafting, yours Maike

Heya everyone!

"Crazy" ist the new task at Challenge up your Life and this is the card I made for inspiration:

My German sentiment says something like "They are all crazy around here- come on, unicorn, let's go!" and I love it! It makes me smile everytime I read it! ;o) For the background I have used a new stamp of mine by Gummiapan and stamped it in rainbow colour, because rainbows and unicorn simply are awesome together - at least in my world.... 

Also glitter is a super addition for both unicorns and rainbows ;o) So I glittered the mane and the horn to give it a lot of sparkle! I would love to see any "Crazy" projects from you in the Challenge Up Your Life gallery! Until then: have a fantastic weekend and happy crafting, yours Maike

Einen wunderschönen Samstag

wünsche ich euch ;o) Ich weiß nicht, wie es euch geht, aber ich bin total bereit für den Frühling, schöne Blumen, wärmere Temperaturen und wieder mehr Farben um mich herum. ;o) Die aktuelle "Anhänger / Tags" Challenge bei Challenge Up Your Life habe ich direkt einmal genutzt und viele, leuchtende Farben benutzt:

I don't know about you, but I am totally ready for spring, flowers, warmer temperatures and more colour around me again;o) The currents "Tags" challenge at Challenge Up Your Life gave me the perfect opportunity to use loads of bright, beautiful colours:

Zuerst habe ich die Tags ausgestanzt und mit Distress Inks in den Farben Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron mit einem ganz klein bisschen Mowed Lawn am Boden, Salty Ocean und Wilted Violet den unteren Teil eingefärbt. Die kleinen Pinguine habe ich anschließend coloriert und auf die Tags geklebt.

I started with die cutting the tags and colouring them with Distress Inks in Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron with just a tiny bit of Mowed Lawn at the bottom, Salty Ocean und Wilted Violet. Next I coloured the little penguins and glued them directly to the tags.

Die Kartenbasis war mir nur in weiß ein wenig zu langweilig, also habe ich mit einer Schablone in ganz dezentem Hellgrau ein Muster aufgetupft und freihand einen Rahmen um die Karte gezogen. Für den Kartenspruch habe ich das "Happy, Happy, Happy..." auf das blaue Tag gestempelt und den Gruß unter den Anhängern zu Ende geführt. Damit war meine Karte fertig und ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr jetzt auch eure Tag-Stanzen herauskramen und daraus eine Karte, ein Layout oder sonst nicht was basteln würdet ;o) Habt ein tolles Wochenende und vielen Dank fürs Vorbauschauen auf meinem Blog! The card base looked a bit plain just in white, so I decided to add a subtle pattern to it using "Fog" Ink by Simon Says and a Stencil by Tim Holtz. I also added a frame around the card by hand. For my sentiment I had decided to start it on the blue tag and let it continue below the row of tags. Christmas Series Card #5 / Weihnachtsserie Karte #5 (Polar Bear Luke)

Teil 5 meiner Weihnachtsserie ist gleichzeitig auch meine Interpretation des Challenge-Bildes von der neuen PINspirational Challenge. Dieses Mal habe ich mich an den Farben orientiert und nicht am Motiv:

Part 5 of my Christmas series is also my interpretation of the new theme at PINspirational challenges. This time I have used the colours as inspiration rather than the theme:

Zuerst habe ich diesen wundervollen Hintergrundstempel von Purple Onions rot auf den roten Cardstock gestempelt, um einen Ton in Ton - Look zu erhalten. Nachdem die Tinte getrocknet war habe ich die Kreise mit den Sternen hinzugefügt. Diese habe ich mit Versamark gestempelt und anschließend mit dem Platinum Pulver von Ranger embosst. Ich liebe diesen goldenen Schimmern, den das Pulver gibt.

I started by creating the background by stamping the lovely background stamp by Purple Onions in red on to a red cardstock. After that had dried I added the circle and stars stamps. This one I stamped with Versamark and used Platinum embossing powder by Ranger to give it this lovely golden sheen.

Die Motive (Eisbär und Geschenk) habe ich mit Zigs coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Auf ein Sentiment habe ich verzichtet, das auf dem Hintergrund ja schon alles steht. Noch ein Stück Garn dazu und meine Karte war fertig. Sehr schön schnell gemacht und super geeignet, wenn man damit eine Massenproduktion plant ;o) Habt eine schöne Woche und bis hoffentlich bald! I coloured the main images (polar bear and present) with Zig markers and fussy cut them. Because I had everything I wanted to say stamped on the background panel, I decided to abstain from adding a sentiment this time.  All that was left to do now was to add a piece of twine and my card was done. Mich auf wenige Farben zu beschränken fällt mir wirklich immer sehr schwer. Dieses Mal wusste ich aber zum Glück recht schnell, was ich für die aktuelle Challenge auf Cards und More machen wollte, als ich dieses Farbschema sah:

I do have a hard time confining myself to only one or two colours on a card (or anything I create really...). This time however I knew quite quickly what I wanted to make, when I saw the colour scheme for the newest challenge at Cards und More:

Felix mit seinem Friesennerz hatte es mir auf dem Stempelmekka angetan und ich bin so froh, dass er bei mir eingezogen ist, denn ich finde, er ist die perfekte Besetzung für diese Karte. Was meint ihr?

Felix (the penguin) with his coat was one of the stamps I found at the Stempelmekka (a fair in Germany all about stamps). And I am so glad I did find him, because I think he is the perfect image for this card and colour scheme. What do you think?

Coloriert habe ich ihn mit Zig-Markern, bevor ich ihn dann ausgeschnitten und auf den gewischten Wolkenhintergrund geklebt habe. Den Herzregen hatte ich zuvor mit dem Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Lemon Sorbet auf den Hintergrund aufgetragen.

I coloured the penguin with Zig markers before fussy cutting him out. I glued him on the background piece which I had created using Simon Says Fog Ink and the MFT cloud stencil. I also layered the shower of hearts on top using the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Lemon Sorbet.

Christmas Series #13 Advent calender / Weihnachtsserie #13 Adventskalender

Halli Hallo ihr Lieben,

alles außer einer Karte dürft ihr bei der neusten Challenge auf dem Cards und More Blog verlinken ;o) Da wir kurz vor dem ersten Advent stehen, dachte ich, dass ein kleiner, aber feiner Adventskalender genau das richtige Projekt sei. Gedacht, getan ;o)

Heya my dearcrafty friends,
"anything but a card" is the theme of our newest challenge over at the Cards und More blog. Because December isn't too far away anymore I thought I would show you a different version of an Advent calender that is quick and easy to make ;o)

Es ist ja kein typischer 24-Türchen Adventskalender - aber ich denke, der glückliche Empfänger freut sich auch über Kleinigkeiten an den Adventssonntagen ;o) Die kleinen Boxen habe ich mit einer Stanze von Kulricke hergestellt und aus weißem, festen Papier habe ich dann noch das Tablett für sie gebastelt.

It is not the typical "open one box every day" - kind of Advent calender, but rather one where the lucky recipient gets to open one on every Advent Sundays before christmas. I created the little boxes with a die by Kulricke and made a simply tray for them.

Die Verzierungen habe ich mit den süßen Mama Elephant Rentieren und Designerpapier von Lawn Fawn gemacht und finde das Ergebnis wirklich super niedlich. Weil man diesen Kalender aber nicht so gut verschicken kann, habe ich noch eine flache Variante gebastelt, die ich mit Washitape schnell und einfach verziert habe.

I used Lawn Fawn papers and these cute reindeers to embellish the boxes and love how it turned out. I used some acetate to help the elements stand up. Because a more flat version is better for mailing I created a different version as well, using washi tape to decorate the tray.

Ginger Bread Couple

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Heute habe ich noch eine Karte für euch mit Stempeln aus dem neuen Set "Snow Angel" von Gerda Steiner Designs. Ich habe überlegt, wie man die Images noch anders nutzen könnte und da dachte ich an ein Lebkuchen-Pärchen ;o)

Heya my dear crafty friends!

Today I would like to share a card with you using the new set "Snow Angel" by Gerda Steiner Designs. I thought about how one could use the images - apart from the obvious way to have them make snow angels - and decided that two of them would make a really cute gingerbread couple ;o)

Ich habe den Lebkuchen-Schneeengel zwei Mal gestempelt und mit Copics coloriert. Dabei habe ich einen dunkler gemalt, denn der sollte später der Mann werden. Seine Deko habe ich in einem Blaugrün gemalt und das Mädchen hat rote Verzierungen bekommen ;o) Nun war es an der Zeit den beiden ein Plätzchen auf der Karte zu gestalten, also habe ich aus einem gemusterten Papier ein Rechteck und daraus dann einen Kreis ausgestanzt. Auf der Kartenbasis habe ich mit einem Bleistift eingezeichnet, wo später die Öffnung sein würde, damit ich den Spruch zentriert stempeln konnte.

I stamped and coloured two of the cute ginger bread men, colouring one a little darker than the other. That one was supposed to become the male, so I coloured his accents in a teal colour and the lighter one - the girl - got the red accents ;o) Now it was time to give them a place to "sit", so I die cut a rectangle from some patterned paper and die cut a circle from that. I marked down on the card base where the opening was going to be with a pencil and stamped the circle sentiment in place. ("Frohe Weihnachten" is German for "Merry Christmas".)

Als ich das braune Papier über den im Kreis geschriebenen Spruch gehalten habe, ist mir der Hintergrund nun plötzlich sehr hell, fast grell, vorgekommen. Also habe ich mit "Candied Apple" Distress Ink ein klein wenig rote Farbe aufgetragen. Das war direkt viel besser ;o) Um das Papier aufzukleben habe ich Abstandshalter benutzt, um den Effekt des "Fensters" noch zu verstärken, habe einen roten Rahmen hinzugefügt und habe dann das Lebkuchenpärchen in ihr neues Zuhause geklebt. Einen von beiden habe ich direkt auf die Kartenbasis geklebt, den anderen oder besser die andere habe ich wieder mit ein wenig Foamtape hochgestellt. Um etwas rote Farbe auch auf das gemusterte Papier zu bringen, habe ich mir einen roten Copic geschnappt und einzelne Liedteile farbig unterlegt. Außerdem habe ich den roten Rahmen noch ordentlich mit dem Clear Wink of Stella bearbeitet, aber leider sieht man das in den Fotos wieder nicht so gut..

When I placed the patterned paper over the circle again the white from the background felt too bright, so I decided to take some "Candied Apple" Distress Ink and sponge some on the inside of the circle. That was a lot better ;o) I used foam tape to glue the paper to the card base, added a red frame around the window to match the colour on the inside and place the ginger bread couple inside. I glued one of them directly to the card, the other one is raised up with foam tape. In order to bring some red to the patterned paper as well I used a red marker to highlight some parts of the Christmas carol and also used the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen to add some shimmer to the red frame. Unfortunately it is really hard to see in the pictures though...

Die süßen Schneeengel - auch wenn sie hier gerade einmal ohne ihre Flügel zu sehen sind - kommen sicher auch noch einmal in meiner Weihnachtsserie 2016 vor, die am 20. Oktober starten wird! Vielleicht habt ihr ja Lust vorbeizuschauen... Natürlich wird es neben den geplanten 24 Weihnachtskarten / -projekten auch noch ein Giveaway geben ;o)
