Easter Bunny with flowers

Hello all!!!
Today I am back with sharing my card for the newest Challenge Up Your Life mood board:

And this is the card I have created for this challenge:

I have used yellowish-(golden)-green hues for the background to create the mood for this card. Going from there I decided to make it an Easter card and used one of the cute bunnies from Gerda Steiner Designs. 

I used some fun flower dies from Paper Smooches and a frame by Honey Bee Stamps to set the scene for the Easter bunny and added the sentiment and my card was done. It came together rather quickly, even through those flowers had so many little parts. A bit of "Stick it" behind the paper is a very good way to save on time - and maybe frustration ;o)

Autumnal Congrats

Hello everyone,

this is my card for the September challenge at Challenge Up Your Life. The theme this time is "Autumn mood" and this is my take on it:

I love this little bear by Neat and Tangled and Simon Says Stamp - it is from a Stamptember stamp set. This cute scarf around his neck just speaks Autumn to me. 

The background was created with Distress Inks and then covered up with this fun die by Altenew. Those huge leaves just look amazin I think. I would love to see your take on the "Autumn Mood" theme! Have afabulous week, stay safe and happy crafting my friends! Hugs, Maike

Heya everyone,

over at Challenge Up Your Life we would like to bring spring into your craft rooms by making the next challenge a "Focus on Flowers" one. If you know my blog you might know that I tend to use animals as my focal image 98% of the time - if not more so this was a real challenge for me. I love the flower images by Create A Smile, so I looked through them and found these crocus-images which I love so I decided to go with them and then I let myself be inspired by a wonderful Christmas card I got from Karolin. (You should definately hop on over to her instagram account, she makes such amazing cards!)

For the background I used the Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish in Lush Pink which really gives a wonderful rich colour and a lot of shine! (You can see it clearly in the first picture.) I placed the stamped and Copic coloured flowers on top taking my time to arrange the blooms and before glueing them down for good I also stamped the sentiment. The last thing to add was some Nuvo drops and my card was done. I hope you like it and that you are going to share your flowery projects with us in our gallery! Remember, you do have time until the 27th of April to do so and we would love to see what you come up with.

Holly Jolly Christmas Seal

Happy new year everyone ;o)

I wish you all the happiest year yet with lots of joy and fun, friends and loved ones, a year in which you grow in whichever way you want to, a year in which you meet at least some of your goals, a creative year, a year with lots of laughter and - most important of all - a happy and healthy year!

With the creative part I could probably help ;o) We at Challenge Up Your Life have one of the first 2020 challenges for you and it is an "Anything Goes" one, so get out your old and new toys and get inky ;o)

This is a card I made last year (I did have to use that line) because I noticed around mid December that I hadn't nearly enough Christmas cards to send out. It is a quicker design simply because I used a printed card base and didn't use any other embellishments than the sentiments. I felt the card was busy enough as it it. (Now that I am seeing the card again I wished I had added one layer of vellum between the cardbase and my elements though to make it less busy....)

This image is quite large which was perfect for my card and it is super cute as well. In order to keep the added elements as simple as possible I stayed in the pink-purple family with my colours and think it was the right decision. Von Herzen - From the Heart

Heya everyone!

I hope you have remembered that Challenge up your life now is a monthly challenge and seeing as it is the 1st of June we have this Tic-Tac-Toe for you:

As you can see I went for the first row: blue-heart and stencil. I created an ombre-background with the awesome stencil by Create a smile using Oxide inks in Blueprint Sketch, Satly Ocean and Tumbled Glass. 

I added the bear which I have coloured with Copic markers and also the speech bubble with the embossed sentiment which means "from the heart". I am trying to learn to stop, when a card is done, so I thought I'd leave it like this. And I still really like it. Hope, you do, too ;o) I also hope you are going to play along with our Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at CUYL. You have almost a month to create something wonderful and share it with us. We at Challenge Up Your Life always want to provide inspiration for you, so this time we thought we would challenge you to CASE our Design Team members: Simply choose a card from one of us and use it as inspiration. You can case the layout, the colour pallette, the motive or anything you like really as long as we can recognize how you got inspired. My card was inspired by this fun and cute card made by Silke of KartenKram:

I stamped the owl on a piece of Copic friendly paper and die cut it after colouring. To get the coloured frame I die cut a second slightly larger circle and coloured it with the same shade I had used for the scarf so it would match the image. I added it on to some designer paper and stamped the sentiment on a banner to match Silke's card.

Nun zu meiner Karte: Für das Thema "Alles Neu" bei Challenge Up Your Life habe ich einen meiner neuen Stempel von Purple Onion Designs benutzt:

Now for my card: For the theme "All New" at Challenge Up Your Life I used one of my new stamps from Purple Onion Designs:

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit Distress Oxide Inks in den Farben "Peacock Feathers", "Blueprint Sketch" und "Seedless Preserves" gewischt. Anschließend habe ich den Hintergrund erst mit Wasser und dann noch mal mit Copic Opaque White bespritzt. Der Spruch ist aus dem Set "Arctic Animals", das gerade sogar mit 50% Rabatt zu bekommen ist ;o)

Rund ums Thema "Baby" soll sich alles in den nächsten 2 Wochen bei Challenge Up Your Life drehen und das hier ist meine Inspirationskarte dazu:

Heya my dear crafty friends!

"Baby" is the theme for our newest challenge at Challenge Up Your Life and this is my inspiration card for you:

Zuerst habe ich eine ganze Menge Dreicke ausgestanzt und als Girlande direkt auf die Kartenbasis geklebt. Dabei habe ich darauf geachtet, dass ich ausreichend Platz für den Spruch und den Rahmen haben würde, die ja auch noch mit auf die Karte drauf sollten. Aus weißem Cardstock habe ich den Rahmen ausgestanzt und ein weißes Papier, das ein klitzekleines bisschen kleiner war als der Rahmen im Ombre-Look eingefärbt. Dazu habe ich Distress Oxide Inks in den Farben "Lucky Clover", "Mowed Lawn" and "Twisted Citron" benutzt. 

I started with die cutting lots and lots of little banner shapes which I glued directly to the card base, making sure I had enough room for the sentiment and the frame I wanted to add to the card front. Next I die cut the frame from white card stock and coloured a pice of paper that was just a tiny bit smaller than the frame with Distress Oxide Inks. I used the colours "Lucky Clover", "Mowed Lawn" and "Twisted Citron" to create the ombre background for my Mama Bear and her little one.  

Mama Bär habe ich mit Copics der E10er-Familie coloriert, da ich einen warmen Ton für sie haben wollte. Das Baby habe ich in zarten Rosatönen (RV04, RV02 und R30) coloriert. Das Wort "Welcome" habe ich zuerst nur gestempelt gehabt, aber weil mir das zu schmal und zu unauffällig war, bin ich später noch mit dem Glaze Pen (mit dem ich auch immer einen Klecks auf die Augen setze) drüber gegangen und liebe das leicht erhabene, tiefschwarze Finish. 

I coloured the Mama Bear usiing Copics from the E10 family, because I wanted to give her a slightly reddish fur. The baby was coloured with RV04, RV02 and R30 to give her that soft pink look. When I stamped the word "Welcome" I thought it would have enough "standing" to fill the top of the coloured pice, but it didn't really. So I wrote over it with my beloved Glaze Pen which I always use for the eyes of critters and I think the result looks great.

A Rainbows and Unicorn Kind of Day

Hallo zusammen!

"Einhörner und / oder Regenbögen" möchten wir für die neuste Challenge bei Challenge Up Your Life von euch auf euren Projekten sehen ;o) Hier ist meine Inspiration für euch und ich hoffe, sie gefällt euch:

Heya all!

"Unicorns and / or rainbows" is what we would like to see on your projects for our newest task at Challenge Up Your Life ;o) This is my inspiration card and I hope you'll like it:

Zuerst habe ich den Regenbogen-Hintergrund für die Karte mit meinen wunderbaren "Kurtake Gansai" Wasserfarben gamalt. Ich liebe die Leucht- und Deckkraft dieser Farben und benutze sie wirklich zu selten... Als die Farbe komplett trocken war, habe ich das Regenbogenpapier mit dem "Wonky Rectangle" ausgestanzt und zusätzlich noch einmal aus dem fast-weißen Strathmore Bristol Smooth, das ich benutzt hatte, um die Streifen drauf zu malen. Das Papier benutze ich gerne, weil es beinahe-fast-weiß ist, glatt und doch ein bisschen was an Wasser aushält ;o)

I started by creating a rainbow background for the card using my "Kurtake Gansai" watercolours. I love the bright opaque colours very much and don't use them nearly often enough. One the paint was dry I die cut a wonky stitched rectangle from the rainbow paper and another one from white paper. (Actually a little off-white because I used the watercolour paper again, so there wouldn't be a difference in colour. I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, which is rather white and holds a little bit of water without any problems.)

Ich habe aus dem weißen Papier einen Teil herausgeschnitten und die beiden übrigen auf die Streifen geklebt. So ist das Muster am Rand durchgehend und der Regenbogen bietet einen schönen Hintergrund ohne zu aufdringlich zu sein ;o) Als nächstes habe ich die schwarzen Linien gezogen, den Spruch nebst Sternen gestempelt und das Einhorn auf seine Wolken gestellt. Die Sterne habe ich mit einem goldenen Glitzerstift ausgemalt und damit war meine Karte auch schon fertig ;o) Ich hoffe, ihr schaut mal bei uns vorbei und stellt ein Regenbogen- oder Einhornprojekt bei CUYL in der Gallerie ein! I cut the white rectangle in three pieces and glued the top and the bottom part to the rainbow paper. That way the rainbow paper is not too "loud" and the faux stitching looks like one continuous line ;o) Next I drew the black lines above and below the rainbow, stamped the sentiment and placed the unicorn on its clouds. Once I had coloured in the stars with a gold glitter pen by Zig my card was done ;o) I hope you'll come by and have a look at all the rainbow and unicorn projects by my teamies and also link your's to our gallery at CUYL. Up in the Air

Hallo ihr Lieben!

"Fahrzeuge" lautet das neue Thema bei Challenge Up Your Life und ich habe mich für einen Heißluftballon entschieden... ;o) Vor Kurzem habe ich gelernt, dass man in so einem Ding fährt, nicht fliegt und das scheint irgendwie hängen geblieben zu sein...

"Vehicles" is the new task at the Challenge Up Your Life blog and this is my inspration card:

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit dem Cloud Stencil und Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink gemacht und anschließend dieses schöne Rechteck daraus ausgestanzt. Mit derselben Stanze habe ich anschließend auch noch einmal eine Form aus weißem Papier ausgestanzt, so dass ich aus den beiden Teilen eine Kartenbasis herstellen konnte. Als nächstes habe ich den Ballon gestempelt, coloriert und ausgeschnitten... Das war der Moment, an dem ich meinen Fehler bemerkt habe: Durch die Seile gab es zu viel weiße Fläche, was auf dem Hintergrund echt komisch aussah. Also habe ich eine Maske gestempelt und geschnitten und den Hintergrund dann auch über diesen Teil gewischt, um ein durchgehendes Muster hinzubekommen. Würde ich diese Karte noch einmal machen, würde ich sie einfach direkt als 1-Layer-Karte anlegen. Aber weil ich es jetzt nun einmal konnte, habe ich den Ballon mit Abstandshaltern aufgeklebt ;o)

I created a background using the Cloud Stencil and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and die cute the piece to a scalloped edge rectangle. Then I die cut the same shape from white paper, so that I could glue both pieces together and use them as my card base. Next I stamped and coloured the balloon and fussy cut it out. That was when I noticed my mistake... There was too much white space to look good, so I had to stamp and cut a mask and use the same ink and stencil again to get a continuous pattern. If I would create this card again I would make it a one layer card - much less complicated but same look ;o) However, because I could now that I had gone through all the steps I decided to use foam tape to adhere the balloon to my card base with some dimension.

Zum Schluss habe ich das Wort "hi" aus schwarzem Cardstock ausgestanzt und neben den Ballon geklebt. Dann habe ich die türkisen Sternchen noch überall verteilt und meine Karte war fertig. Habt ihr Stempel oder Sticker mit Fahrzeugen drauf bei euch im Schrank oder sonst wo liegen? Dann schnappt die euch doch und kreiert ein Werk damit... To finish the card I die cut the word "hi" from black cardstock and glued it next to the balloon. Now all that was left to do was to scatter a few turquoise stars around on the card and my card was done. Do you have stamps or stickers of any type of vehicle in your craft room? Have a Tail-Wagging Good Time

"Gelb und Grau" ist die neue Vorgabe für Challenge der nächsten zwei Wochen bei Challenge Up Your Life und hier seht ihr meine Inspirationskarte:

 Heya my dear crafty friends!
"Yellow and Grey" is the theme for the new challenge over at Challenge Up Your Life for the coming fortnight. This is my take on the task:

Als ich über die Farbe "Gelb" nachgedacht habe, ist mir dieses Mal sofort Sonnenschein in den Kopf gekommen - wahrscheinlich weil ich seit November kaum welchen gesehen habe.... Also habe ich meine tolle Schablone von Create A Smile rausgesucht und für den Hintergrund meiner Karte ein paar wundervoll sonnengelbe Sonnenstrahlen gewischt. Als nächstes habe ich aus weißem Papier einen Rahmen und zwei "Schnee"-Hügel ausgestanzt und schon einmal auf der Kartenbasis zusammen geklebt.

When I thought about the colour yellow the first thing that came to my mind was sunshine - something we have been missing dearly in Germany for the past three month - so I got out my wonderful stencil by Create A Smile and created the rays for my background piece. Next I die cut the frame and two hills from white cardstock and glued all those pieces together.

Jetzt hatte ich schon einen Hintergrund, der mir gefiel und musste jetzt nur noch ein passendes Element für den Vordergrund finden. Als ich diesen niedlichen Kerl in einem meiner Stempelset entdeckte, war klar, dass er auf die Karte musste. Ich habe ihn mit Memento Tuxedo Black gestempelt, anschließend mit Copics coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Als er seinen Platz auf dem Hügel gefunden hatte, habe ich den Spruch so halb um ihn herum gestempelt. Wie immer war mir meine Karte so noch etwas zu leer, also habe ich die Szene um das "Woof! Woof!" mit gelben Alphabetstickern ergänzt und diese tollen klaren Sternchenpailetten aufgeklebt. Damit war meine Karte fertig ;o) Ich hoffe, sie gefällt euch und ich konnte euch vielleicht sogar inspirieren euch auch an das "Gelb-Grau"-Thema zu wagen. Now I had a lovely background, but I still needed a focal image, so I searched through my supplies and found this adorable dog with its scarf and knew that he would look perfect combined with the scene . I stamped the dog and coloured it wil Copic markers and also stamped the sentiment. And because the card looked much too empty at this point I added the "Woof! Woof!" with alphabet stickers and also these cute clear star sequins. That was my card done ;o) I hope you like my card and that maybe I could inspire you to challenge yourself with our theme. Warmest Wishes from Flurry and Chilly (POD)

Ich bin ein bisschen spät dran mit meiner Inspirationskarte für die "Schneemann" Challenge bei Challenge Up Your Life, aber hier ist sie nun:

Heya my dear crafty friends!
I am a bit late to the party for the new challenge at Challenge Up Your Life, but at least I made it now. The theme is "Snowman" and this is my inspiration card:

 Zuerst habe ich das Quadrat ausgestanzt und den unteren Rand mit einem Post-It maskiert. Anschließend habe ich den Schneemann mit dem Geschenk in den Händen gestempelt, ebenfalls maskiert und noch den zweiten kleineren Kerl hinzugestempelt. Coloriert habe ich sowohl die beiden, als auch den Hintergund mit Copics.

First I die cut the square, masked the bottom part below the stitched line and then stamped the bigger one of the snowmen. After I masked him as well I stamped the second, smaller snowman as well. The whole scene was coloured with Copic markers.

Die Kartenbasis habe ich mit Schneeflocken im Hintergrund embossed. Als nächstes habe ich das Quadrat mit den eisigen Gesellen mit Abstandsklebern aufgeklebt und in eine Lücke zwischen all den  Schneeflocken habe ich einen passenden Spruch gestempelt. (Wie üblich habe ich an den Spruch mal wieder als Letztes gedacht... *typisch_ich *grins) So, wie sie zu dem Zeitpunkt war, fand ich die Karte aber zu langweilig, also habe ich mit meinen Nuvo Drops noch passende Akzente um das Panel und den Spruch herum verteilt. Ganz zum Schluss habe ich noch Wink of Stella auf sämtliche Schneeflächen verteilt, damit die Schneemänner das typisch eisige Glänzen bekommen. My next step was to emboss some snowflakes on the card base and to glue the square on using foam tape. As usual I had forgotten to plan ahead as dar as the placing of the sentiment goes ;o) Typical for me... Ah well, luckily I found a spot between some embossed snowflakes that was big enough for my chosen sentiment. Because I felt that the card was too plain I got out some colours of Nuvo Drops and added some drops around the panel and the sentiment to give it more interest. Lastly I added Wink of Stella to all of the snow areas to give the snowmen that frosty shimmer. Keep Swimming (Embossing Wet AND Dry)

Hallo meine Lieben!

Ich hoffe, ihr alle hattet eine schöne, gemütliche und kreative Zeit zwischen Weihnachten und heute ;o) Ich weiß nicht, wie es euch geht, aber mein Basteltisch hat mich in den vergangenen zwei Wochen kaum gesehen: Seit Beginn des Jahres gab es bei uns nämlich bereits drei Geburtstage zu feiern. Für das neue Thema "Embossingfolder" bei Challenge Up Your Life, habe ich dann aber gestern doch ein bisschen mit meinen neuen und alten Goodies gespielt:

I hope you all had a great, cozy and creative time between Christmas and now ;o) My craft desk hadn't seen me in quite a long time, because we already got to celebrate three birthdays this year. Have you had time to get creative in 2018 yet? For the new task "Embossingfolder" at Challenge Up Your Life which starts today I got some old and new goodies out yesterday to create an inspiration card for you:

Zuerst habe ich mit Distress Oxide Inks den Hintergrund gestaltet. Für den Himmel habe ich die Farben Fossilized Amber und Picked Raspberry benutzt, für das Wasser erst einmal nur Peacock Feathers. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich im oberen Teil die Wolken mit einem Embossing Folder geprägt und die Luftblasen mit einer Schablone und Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink aufgetragen.

I started by creating the background with Distress Oxide Inks. For the sky I have used the colours Fossilized Amber and Picked Raspberry, for the water Peacock Feathers. After the ink had dried I added some cloud texture to the sky with an embossing folder and also the bubbles for the water area using a stencil and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink.

Als nächstes habe ich die Meeresbewohner mit Embossingpulver auf die Karte gebracht - nur die ganz kleinen Fische oben rechts sind gestempelt. I finde, die Quallen und der silberne Fisch sind klasse geworden, aber ich bin immer wieder enttäuscht, wie heftig der Unterschied zwischen dem gelben Pulver und seinem Endergebnis ist. Habt ihr Empfehlungen für ein richtig schön deckendes, gelbes Embossingpulver? Ich würde mich echt freuen, wenn ihr mit mir teilen würdet, was ihr so benutzt ;o)

Next I added the critters using embossing powder for all but the tiny ones in the upper right corner. I love how the jelly fish and the silver one turned out, but I am always disappointed when I compare the yellow powder to its end result. Have you any suggestions for a really opaque yellow embossing powder? I would love to hear what you use ;o)

Zum Schluss habe ich dann noch den Spruch gestempelt, mit den Enamel Pfeilen von Create a Smile aufgehübscht und auf die Kartenbasis geklebt. Und weil ein bisschen Glitter immer geht, habe ich die Wolken noch mit meinem Wink of Stella zum Glitzern gebracht. Das wars für heute, ihr Lieben! Ich liebe den Look von Embossing Foldern - auch, wenn sie wie ich gehört habe gerade out sind *grins - und würde mich freuen zu sehen, was ihr aus dem Thema macht. My last steps were to stamps the sentiment and accentuate it with the fun enamel arrows by Create a Smile. After I glued the piece to the card base I also added some glitter to the clouds to set them off a bit more. So, that was my card for today, my friends! I do love the look of dry embossing - even though I have heard rumors it isn't the most fashionable technique right now *grin - and I would love to see what you create using your folders.
