Taufkerze für Felix

Hello dear crafters!
As you might know I truly enjoy making cards. As I myself found out recently I detest working with wax, but I love how the candle turned out. But first things first: The Crafty Cardmakers dare you to make "Anything But A Card" this time around. I thought I'd give myself a real challenge and created the candle for my nephew's christening:

It isn't perfect, but it is handmade ;o) So I am almost certain Felix will like it when he is older. Is there something you would like to create apart from a card? Yes? Perfect! ;o) Then I hope you will share it with us at the Crafty Cardmakers. I may not feel tempted to play with wax again anytime soon, but I am absolutely glad I tried it. Have a wonderful and crafty week ;o)

Thank you- Box with a fox

Heya everyone ;o)
Today I would like to share a little project with you that I made with some kind people in mind. They have been helping with our bicycle training at school even though they have loads on their plates as well. So I thought I would create a little gift box for all of them. That fit perfectly with our "No Cards / Keine Karten" challenge at Papercraft Challenges which starts today.

I am not sure what will go inside the boxes yet, but I will hopefully think of something soon ;o) The cute fox image is a stamp by Purple Onion Designs. I coloured all of them differently using the watercolour pens from Winsor & Newton. They are lightfast and also have very rich colours.

I hope you will join us in our "No cards" challenge! Have a lovely week and happy crafting ;o) Yours Maike

Whaley Huge Birthday Wishes

Hello y'all ;o)
Yesterday we published a new task at the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge blog. We would like to see "Masculine" cards and projects. This is my inspiration card:

When you know some of my cards you'll see that this is a particularly "empty" one for my stile, but I really like it. The background was made quickly with two different shades of blue Oxide Inks (Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch) and spritzed with a few drops of water which i removed with a cloth almost immediately.

While the card base dried I coloured the whale with Copic markers in light blue shades, so it would be clearly visible against the background. Lastly I added the sentiment with Archival Jet Black Ink and the card was done. What do you think? Do you like a very CAS card once in a while?

I hope you are going to play along with our challenge and link your project to our gallery ;o) I also hope to see you soon and wish you a wonderful and crafty week! Yours Maike ;o)

Have A Hoot

Hello everyone!
We have a new PINspirational challenge for you:

First I wanted to go with a black and white card, but then I found the cute owl stamp by Cats on Appletrees and thought it would be the perfect image for this task. I "sat" the two birds on one of the stamped watercolour stripes and also gave them a balloon to hold to make it more of a birthday card image.

Next I stamped the background and added the sentiment "have a HOOT" to go with the owls. That was it - a really nice and simple card, but I like that it would work with different colours and that it would be easy to reproduce if necessary.

Aren't they cute? I hope you are going to join us in our challenge. Create whatever you like, just let us know how we have inspired you, if that isn't visible at first sight (as with my card) ;o) Have a lovely week and happy crafting, everyone ;o) Yours Maike

Von Herzen - From the Heart

Heya everyone!
I hope you have remembered that Challenge up your life now is a monthly challenge and seeing as it is the 1st of June we have this Tic-Tac-Toe for you:

As you can see I went for the first row: blue-heart and stencil. I created an ombre-background with the awesome stencil by Create a smile using Oxide inks in Blueprint Sketch, Satly Ocean and Tumbled Glass.

I added the bear which I have coloured with Copic markers and also the speech bubble with the embossed sentiment which means "from the heart". I am trying to learn to stop, when a card is done, so I thought I'd leave it like this. And I still really like it. Hope, you do, too ;o) I also hope you are going to play along with our Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at CUYL. You have almost a month to create something wonderful and share it with us. For now I wish you a wonderful and hopefully creative weekend! Happy crafting, yours Maike

Huge Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone!
It's time again to be PINspired ;o) This time I went with the overall theme "music" rather than picking an individual design element and created a card with a music note background. This is our newest inspiration picture for you:

I went for a birthday theme and used those cute, big animals by Avery Elle from a set that is retired but still available at some places (like Ellen Hutson - where I will link this set to.) I love those huge critters combined with the tiny birds by the way. What do you think?

I stamped the balloon on patterned paper by Sunny Studio because I love the pattern and the colours and the fact that it gives the card a more fun feeling still. ;o) I hope you are going to join us in our newest challenge! Happy crafting, everyone! Yours Maike

Interactive birthday card with Donut Treats (Magic Picture Changer)

Heya everyone ;o)
For the "Birthday" themed new challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers I created this card as inspiration:

It doesn't look like very much yet, but if you pull that tab...

the pictures changes to this:

I just love how cute the mouse looks smiling at you from behind the stack of donuts ;o))) To create the card I used the "Magic Picture Changer" die by Lawn Fawn and the Add-on as well.
As for the ink, I have used the Fadeout Ink-on-3 and love the result. When you stamp it at first you'll have an outlined image and with time this ink fades out to give the impression of no-line-colouring. I am sold on this ink for a no-line look for sure, because it was really easy to colour ;o)

I would love to see your "Birthday" cards and projects in our gallery at the Crafty Cardmakers! Have a lovely week and happy crafting everyone ;o) Yours Maike
