Celebrate - Gnome

Hello everyone,
"Celebrations" is the theme for the newest Crafty Cardmakers challenge. I love the theme, because it is so versatile and so I created a card with the theme as my sentiment:

I  let the Scan N Cut do the cutting work for me and then coloured the image with Copics. The little bug at the top left makes me smile everytime I look at this image which I think is totally cute, don't you?

The sentiment was created using the letter stickers by Create a Smile, which I love as well. (I make sure never to be without them actually, because they have helped me out of tight spots cardmaking-wise very often in the past...) I hope you are going to create a "Celebrations" themed project as well and share it with us in our gallery! Until then, please stay safe and happy crafting ;o) Yours Maike

It's Your Birthday - be a little shellfish

Heya everyone ;o)
"Shells" is the theme of the new challenge at Challenge Up Your Life. My lovely friend Sonja of "The Art Of Stamping" gave me a lovely stamp set a while back with a shell and this lovely sentiment and I thought it was THE perfect set for our challenge. But I'd better let you be the judge of that:

I mixed and matched a lot with this card, but I really like the way it turned out. The pearl inside the shell was paper-pieced. I stamped it on some textured cardstock thatt I had covered with Nuvo Mousse in "Pearl", cut it out and placed it over the original pearl if that makes sense.

The background is a stamp byStampingbella and I coloured it with Copic markers. It did take a while but I like the feeling of depth you get from the drawn scene. Once the alcohol from the marker had fully evaporated I heat embossed the sentiment over top. I hope you are going to create a "Shell" themed project as well and share it with us at Challenge Up Your Life! Have a wonderful month of September and happy crafting ;o) Yours Maike

One in a melon - Hamster?!

Halli Hallo ihr Lieben!
Bei der neuen Challenge Up Your Life Herausforderung dreht sich alles um Leckereien und wenn ich mir Gilbert den Hamster so anschaue, sieht er mit seiner Melone recht zufrieden aus, oder?

Heya my dear crafty friends!
For the new Challenge Up Your Life task we would like to see cards with lots of tasty treats and when I look at Gilbert the hamster, I think he looks quite content, don't you?

For my card I started by colouring Gilbert and also a few extra melons with Copic Markers. For the melons I used R35, RV14 and R43 and I really like this combination for watermelons. I fussy cut the melons and die cut the scene with the cute hamster with a circle die, because, well... Look at all these filigran flowers and you know why ;o)))

Before I glued the melons and the scallop circle down I stamped the melon on the card base a few time to give that some interest, too. I used the very subtle "Fog" ink by Simon Says Stamp. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, slightly curved to fit the circle shape and my card was done.

I hope you are going to link up your tasty project in our gallery, because I would love to see what you create! Have a great weekend and happy crafting everybody ;o)
