Merry Christmas Penguin (Slim line card)

Hello everyone,

I am a little late in sharing this card for the newest Papercraft Challenge, but I hope you'll forgive me. Right before Christmas it seems to me at least like there are never enough hours in a day - how about you,  do you feel the same? Anyways, here is the card:

The theme of our newest challenge is "Decking the Halls" and this cute critter by Gerda Steiner Designs is doing just that - just not very successfully at the moment. However I bet his little igloo will look very festive once he has finished decorating it. For the card I cut a piece of white cardstock to the right size and used a stencil to create the dot background. Once the ink was completely dry (I let it sit over night) I heat embossed the sentiment right over the dots with Ranger Platinum Embossing Powder. I love that colour. In the picture above it looks silvers, but when you tilt it in the light...

you get a golden look from it. I love it. I coloured the cute digi stamp with Copic markers and cut it out with a tiny white border. I placed it to the side and really like the look of the card! I hope you do, too. Have you ever made a slim line card?

Merry Christmas (Skydiving Santa)

Hello everyone,

let me start today's post with saying "After Christmas is Before Christmas" and I do hope you'll agree. It seems that every year there are less cards in my stash than I would actually like to send, so again I vowed to keep creating Christmas cards all year long. And so here is another one I made and would like to share with you:

I created a slider card for the newest theme "Heat Or Dry Embossing" over at Papercraft Challenges with this super cute skydiving Santa by our kind sponsor Dr. Digis. You could win 2 digis from their online store if your entry numbers wins! Isn't that fun? For my card I started by heat embossing the text backround on to a piece of white cardstock and added the clouds through a stencil after it was cooled down completely.

Next I added the sentiment towards the bottom of the card and figured out how long the slider "tunnel" could be for Santa not to fly too high or land on or over the sentiment. I added a piece of foam tape to the back (around where his head is) and stuck this piece through the "tunnel" I had cut into the embossed paper. From behind I added a coin, so it would have enough weight to move. Have you started on a new Christmas card stash already?

Heya everyone!
I hope you are enjoying a lovely, lazy, sunny, funny Sunday! Today I am back with an inspiration card for the newest Papercraft Challenges theme. This time we would like to see "Selfmade Backgrounds" in your projects. The DT have so many differents examples to share, you really should risk a peek ;o) This is my piece:

I created a wintery background using the Tambai watercolours and after it had dried completely I embossed the snow flakes over top. For that I used a stencil by Create A Smile and dabbed the Versamark ink pad right over it. Worked like a charm!

I die cut the paper with a scalloped die and also die cut a piece of white felt to represent the snowy ground. The cute walrus is a digi by our kind sponsor Dr. Digis and you could win 2 digis from them if you participate in our challenge. This one is a really great image to colour, because it consists of many large areas and also a walrus had smooth looking skin, so there is no need to create fluffiness which for me makes it a lot easier to colour ;o) I hope you are going to join in the fun and that I will get to see your creation in our gallery! Hello everyone!

In these crazy times I quite like that making a card still fills me with the same joy and calm, so I am very happy to share a new card with you today:

I made it as an inspiration card for our newest challenge over at the Crafty Cardmakers. The theme this time is "Spring" and I love to see all the bees and butterflies coming back to our garden, so I thought I would use this cute image by Gerda Steiner Designs. 

I die cut a somewhat flower-shape from the patterned paper I had chosen and also die cut a frame to go around that opening. Next I heat-embossed some butterflies on a light blue piece of paper and glued that on a the front of a card base. I place the tortoise on a strip of paper on which I had stamped the greeting and then adhered averything on top of the blue piece with foam tape. Three tiny butterflies in a deeper shade of pink were added as an afterthought to give a bit more interest to the background. Black and White Christmas

Hello everyone,

today I am sharing a rather unusual card with you I'd say ;o) The Crafty Cardmakers dare you to create a card in black and white only and I thought I would try to create a Christmas card with this specification:

When I created this card I was thinking of how a teacher would maybe decorate the blackboard with chalk for their class right before Christmas and believe I nailed the look ;o) What do you think? To create the card I first stamped the cats and the huge sentiment, poured the embossing powder over it and heat set it. Next I added the snowflakes in the same way.

Next I used Picket Fence Distress Paint to paint in the snowy hill and also to add the flicks of paint to the background. To finish the card I covered the cats in Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen and also added a tiny bit of Nuvo Clear Drops to the right side of the cats. Keep Swimming (Embossing Wet AND Dry)

Hallo meine Lieben!

Ich hoffe, ihr alle hattet eine schöne, gemütliche und kreative Zeit zwischen Weihnachten und heute ;o) Ich weiß nicht, wie es euch geht, aber mein Basteltisch hat mich in den vergangenen zwei Wochen kaum gesehen: Seit Beginn des Jahres gab es bei uns nämlich bereits drei Geburtstage zu feiern. Für das neue Thema "Embossingfolder" bei Challenge Up Your Life, habe ich dann aber gestern doch ein bisschen mit meinen neuen und alten Goodies gespielt:

I hope you all had a great, cozy and creative time between Christmas and now ;o) My craft desk hadn't seen me in quite a long time, because we already got to celebrate three birthdays this year. Have you had time to get creative in 2018 yet? For the new task "Embossingfolder" at Challenge Up Your Life which starts today I got some old and new goodies out yesterday to create an inspiration card for you:

Zuerst habe ich mit Distress Oxide Inks den Hintergrund gestaltet. Für den Himmel habe ich die Farben Fossilized Amber und Picked Raspberry benutzt, für das Wasser erst einmal nur Peacock Feathers. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich im oberen Teil die Wolken mit einem Embossing Folder geprägt und die Luftblasen mit einer Schablone und Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink aufgetragen.

I started by creating the background with Distress Oxide Inks. For the sky I have used the colours Fossilized Amber and Picked Raspberry, for the water Peacock Feathers. After the ink had dried I added some cloud texture to the sky with an embossing folder and also the bubbles for the water area using a stencil and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink.

Als nächstes habe ich die Meeresbewohner mit Embossingpulver auf die Karte gebracht - nur die ganz kleinen Fische oben rechts sind gestempelt. I finde, die Quallen und der silberne Fisch sind klasse geworden, aber ich bin immer wieder enttäuscht, wie heftig der Unterschied zwischen dem gelben Pulver und seinem Endergebnis ist. Habt ihr Empfehlungen für ein richtig schön deckendes, gelbes Embossingpulver? Ich würde mich echt freuen, wenn ihr mit mir teilen würdet, was ihr so benutzt ;o)

Next I added the critters using embossing powder for all but the tiny ones in the upper right corner. I love how the jelly fish and the silver one turned out, but I am always disappointed when I compare the yellow powder to its end result. Have you any suggestions for a really opaque yellow embossing powder? I would love to hear what you use ;o)

Zum Schluss habe ich dann noch den Spruch gestempelt, mit den Enamel Pfeilen von Create a Smile aufgehübscht und auf die Kartenbasis geklebt. Und weil ein bisschen Glitter immer geht, habe ich die Wolken noch mit meinem Wink of Stella zum Glitzern gebracht. Das wars für heute, ihr Lieben! Ich liebe den Look von Embossing Foldern - auch, wenn sie wie ich gehört habe gerade out sind *grins - und würde mich freuen zu sehen, was ihr aus dem Thema macht. My last steps were to stamps the sentiment and accentuate it with the fun enamel arrows by Create a Smile. After I glued the piece to the card base I also added some glitter to the clouds to set them off a bit more. So, that was my card for today, my friends! I do love the look of dry embossing - even though I have heard rumors it isn't the most fashionable technique right now *grin - and I would love to see what you create using your folders. Heute möchte ich mit euch eine weitere Karte teilen. Die heutige hat zwei kleine Besonderheiten: zweifarbiges Heat-Embossing und ein Sliderelement:

Heya my dear crafty friends!

Today I would like to share a new card with you. This one has to little "special effects" for a lack of a better word ;o) I embossed one sentiment with two colours of embossing powder and also added a tiny slider element:

Ich habe noch eine meiner Schneehügellandschaften verarbeitet ;o) Dieses Mal habe ich den süßen Pinguin Dash von Purple Onion Designs und einen der winzigkleinen Santas von Mama Elephant zur Rodelparty eingeladen. Ich habe beide mit Copics coloriert und dann ausgeschnitten. Nachdem ich entschieden hatte, wo sich die beiden auf der Karte aufhalten sollten, habe ich den Slider-Tunnel in das Papier gestanzt und den Spruch mit Versamark gestempelt. Um das Ganze zweifarbig hinzukriegen habe ich zuerst einen ganzen Berg Liquid Platinum Embossing Pulver auf den Hügelteil geschüttet und dann gaaaaanz vorsichtig mit einem trockenen Pinsel dahin geschubst, wo es hin sollte. Dabei habe ich ganz doll aufgepasst, nie das Papier auch nur ansatzweise zu berühren, weil ich Angst hatte, den Stempelabdruck zu verwischen. Als nächstes habe ich das Goldpulver in seine Dose zurückgeschüttelt und den Vorgang dann noch mal mit dem weißen Pulver wiederholt. Wie gefällt euch der Effekt?

I used another one of my hill-backgrounds, coloured in the cute Penguin Dash by Purple Onion Designs and this teeny tiny Santa by Mama Elephant and fussy cut both of them. Once I knew where I wanted both characters to go I die cut the slider opening and then stamped the large sentiment in Versamark and added loads of Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder only to the lower part. Using a dry brush I moved the powder right to the edge of the hill, making sure never to touch the paper. Next I let the gold powder slide back into its container and did the same for the white part of the sentiment. Do you like the effect it gives?

Nachdem ich mit meiner Heatgun das Pulver geschmolzen hatte, habe ich schnell noch den zweiten, kleinen Spruch gestempelt und ebenfalls embosst. Nun war es an der Zeit, den Pinguin auf die Hügel zu bringen, damit er ein bisschen rodeln konnte.  Dafür habe ich 2 Kreise aus dickem Papier ausgestanzt, die etwas größer waren, als die Rinne breit. Dann habe ich auf einen Kreis ein Slider Element von MFT geklebt und von oben den zweiten Kreis drauf geklebt. Das Hintergrundpapier habe ich mit zwei Lagen Abstandskleber auf die Kartenbasis geklebt, damit der Pinguin sich vernünftig bewegen kann. Zum Schluss habe ich den Pinguin auf seinen Kreis und Santa auf den Schneehügel geklebt. After putting my heat gun to the large sentiment I added the second one and heated that one up as well. Now it was time to put the penguin on the hill, so he could have some fun. I punched two circles, slightly larger than the width of the channel and glued a MFT's Slider Element to one circle, stuck it through the channel and glued the other circle on top. Next I added the panel to the card front using two layers of foam tape, so that the penguin would be able to move properly. Last but not least I glued the penguin to the circle piece and added tiny Santa to the back as well. Frohe Weihnachtszeit

und einen schönen Samstag ;o) Bei Challenge Up Your Life wird es Zeit für eine neue Herausforderung und die lautet: "Zeit oder Uhren". Bei Zeit fiel mir sofort die bevorstehende Weihnachtszeit ein, weshalb ich diese Karte gewerkelt habe:

and happy Saturday to all of you ;o) And with it being Saturday it is time for a new challenge at the Challenge Up Your Life blog. The new theme is "time or clocks". When I read the word time I immediately thought about the upcoming Christmas time which is why I made this card:

Zuerst habe ich den gesamten Spruch in rot gestempelt und dann den grünen Hintergrund so gewischt, dass er außen am dunkelsten ist und ein Highlight um das Wort "Weihnachts" blieb. als nächstes habe ich die Ilexe in einem noch dunkleren Grün als Rahmen um den Spruch herum gestempelt. Die Beeren habe ich mit "Candide Apple" Oxide Ink hinzugefügt, damit sie so richtig schön leuchten. Dann habe den süßen Santa gestempelt und mit Copics coloriert.

I started with stamping the complete sentiment in dark red ink and added the green around it, leaving a little highlight around the huge word. Next I added the leaves with a darker shade of green and the berries with "Candide Apple" Oxide Ink, because I really wanted the colour to pop and also stamped the cute Santa and coloured him with Copics.

Nachdem alles getrocknet war, habe ich das große Wort noch einmal ein wenig zur Seite verschoben mit Versamark drüber gestempelt und das Liquid Platinum Embossing Pulver drüber gegeben. Ich liebe den Glanz, den man mit diesem Embossingpulver bekommt! Als letzten Schritt habe ich auf jede Beere noch einen Tropfen Nuvo Drops gegeben und den Santa samt Schatten aufgeklebt.

After everything had dried I stamped the huge word of the sentiment in Versamark Ink, slightly to the left side and added Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. I love the shine this powder gives! As a last step I added Nuvo Drops to the berries and adhered Santa down on a little drop shadow.

Sweet Wishes Cupcakes

Und da bin ich auch schon wieder mit dem zweiten Post des Tages ;o) Dieses Mal als DT Projekt für die PINspirational Challenges - unten seht ihr das Inspirationsbild:

I am back once more with a second post today ;o) This time I would like to share my DT project for the PINspirational challenges with you - you can find the inspiration picture below:

Ich wollte mich recht nah an der Vorlage halten und habe darum die Cupcakes und das Holz integriert und die gleichen Farben gewählt, wie im Bild. Wenn ihr genau hinschaut, sehr ihr sogar kleine Blümchen auf dem Hintergrundpapier ;o) Zuerst habe ich die Cupcakes und das süße Häschen gestempelt und coloriert . Dann habe ich den Baumring mit Versamark  auf Vellum gestempelt und weiß embossed. Als alles fertig, trocken bzw. kalt war habe ich die Elemente dann per Hand ausgeschnitten.

I tried to stay very close this time, choosing to use cupcakes and wood in my card and also go with the colour scheme. If you look closely you can even see little flowers on my background paper ;o) I started by stamping and colouring the cupcakes and the cute little bunny with Copic markers. Next I heat embossed the tree rings on vellum and fussy cut all of these elements out.

Das Wort "wishes" habe ich aus einem Stück Papier ausgestanzt, das ich mit den gleichen Farben wie für den Schokokuchen coloriert hatte und dann auch noch den Hintergrund aus dem hübschen Papier ausgestanzt. Es hat einige Zeit gedauert, bis ich den Platz für jedes Teil gefunden habe, aber am Ende war ich dann doch irgendwann zufrieden und hab alles aufgeklebt. Dann habe ich noch das Wort "sweet" aufgestempelt, die Muffinförmchen mit jeder Menge Glitzer überzogen und "Diamond Stickles" auf die kleinen Streusel getupft. Damit war meine Karte fertig.

I die cut the word "wishes" from a piece of paper I had coloured with the same Copics I had used for the chocolate cupcake and also the background panel from some cute patterned paper. I played around with the placement of all the elements, but I finally found an arrangement I liked. After adhering it all down I stamped the word "Sweet" to finish off my sentiment and added lots and lots of glitter to the bottom part of cupcake and also diamond stickles to the little sprinkles on top and my card was done.

Have fun - Spinner card

Als ich die "Tic Tac Toe" Tabelle meiner Teamkollegin Marlene von den Crafty Cardmakers gesehen habe, war mir direkt klar, dass die Diagonale von links unten nach rechts oben meine sein würde. Beim Thema Sommer habe ich dann auch direkt an die sonnenliebenden Schweinchen von Gerda Steiner Designs gedacht. Aus der Inspiration ist im Endeffekt eine sommerliche Spinner-Geburtstagskarte geworden - die Schweinedame kann sich auf ihrer pinken Luftmatratzen nach Herzenslust im Meer herumtreiben lassen ;o)

Heya my dear crafty friends!

When I saw the "Tic Tac Toe" for the new Crafty Cardmakers challenge from my teamie Marlene, I knew instantly that I wanted to follow the diagonal line from the bottom left to the top right. When I read the word "Summer" I thought of the cute summer-loving pigs by Gerda Steiner Designs. The inspiration led me to create a summery spinner-birthday card - the little pig lady's air matress can float around the sea while she enjoys the sun ;o)

Angefangen habe ich mit dem Hintergrundpapier, dass ich mit Distress Inks in den Farben Mermaid Lagoon und Peacock Feathers gemacht habe und habe anschließend die Schweinedame und ihre Accessoires mit Copics coloriert. Als die Farbe getrocknet war, konnte ich die Stanzarbeiten erledigen und  dann das Wort "fun" weiß embossen. Die einzelnen Buchstaben habe ich mit einem Distress Marker in Peacock Feathers noch einmal ein wenig nachcoloriert, um ihnen mehr Tiefe zu geben und anschließend den Rest vom Spruch mit Jet Black Archival Ink dazu gestempelt.

I started by creating a blue background piece with Distress Inks (I used Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers) and colouring the images I needed with Copic markers. Once the background was dry I die cut it to size and also the spinner channel from it and added the word fun with white heat embossing. Next I filled in the letters with a Peacock Feathers Distress marker to give it more depth and added the rest of the sentiment with Jet Black Archival Ink.

Im nächsten Schritt habe ich die Kartenbasis an der Stelle, an der die Führung für das bewegliche Teil auf der Karte enden würde, ebenfalls mit Peacock Feathers eingefärbt, damit es ein einheitliches Bild bleibt und nicht die weiße Karte unter dem "Meer" zu sehen sein würde. Mit zwei ausgestanzten Kreisen aus Pappe und einem Plastikteilchen, das ich extra für diese Spinnercards gekauft habe, habe ich Miss Piggy und ihre Luftmatratze befestigt. Zum Schluss habe ich das ganze Teil mit Abstandskleber auf die Basis geklebt und noch den Wasserball und einige Sequins aufgeklebt. In my next step I added Peaock Feathers to the part of my card base where the spinner channel would end up, so that one wouldn't be able to see the white beneath the coloured the panel. Using two punched circles and a plastic disc by MFT I adhered Miss Piggy to the channel, but still allowing the matress piece to move. Now all there was to do was to adhere the panel to the card using foam tape and adding some sequins as water droplets and ball to add a touch more colour. Love is in the Air (Cat in Balloon)

Für die aktuelle PINspirational Challenge ist diese Karte entstanden:

I made this card for the newest PINspirational challenge:

Meine Inspiration habe ich durch das Thema des Bildes und auch von den Farben genommen. Gut, ich habe noch blau für den Himmel und etwas Rosa hinzugefügt, aber mich trotzdem bemüht viel Weiß und Grün auf der Karte zu haben. Den Hintergrund habe ich mit Masking und verschiedenen Arten "Wasserfarbe" gestaltet. (Distress Inks für das Gras, Zigs für den Ballon und normaler Wasserfarben für den Himmel.) Nachdem alles gut getrocknet war, habe ich den Spruch auf die Grasfläche mit weißem Pulver embosst und das in Form gestanzte Papier mit dem stärksten Doppelseitigen Kleber, den ich besitze, auf die Kartenbasis geklebt.

I took my inspiration from the theme of the picture but also from the colours in a way that I have used a lot of green and white on my card. I had to mix in a little blue for the sky and wanted to add in some pink to really make those hearts shine. The background was created using the masking technique for the trees and all kinds of watercolours (Distress Inks for the grass, Zigs for the trees and ordinary watercolours for the sky) to colour the background in. After everything was dry I added the sentiment to the grassy part with white embossing powder and glued the panel to the cardbase using very strong double sided adhesive.

Den Ballon habe ich dann einmal auf den Hintergrund und noch einmal auf ein Stück Aquarellpapier gestempelt, damit ich den Korb und den Ballon selbst ausschneiden konnte, aber trotzdem die Verbindungslinien zu sehen sind. Außerdem habe ich die kleine Katze gestempelt, ebenfalls mit Zigs coloriert und sie dann mit Abstandskleber knapp über den Korb geklebt.

I stamped the balloon one on the background panel and once on another piece of watercolour paper, so that I could cut the balloon and the basket out, but still have the lines connecting the two. I also stamped and coloured the cat, fussy cut everything out and glued it to the panel using foam tape.

Christmas Series Card #21 / Weihnachtsserie Karte #21 (Reindeer with ornaments)

Halli Hallo ihr Lieben!

Wir nähern uns Weihnachten mit riesengroßen Schritten, weshalb ich heute noch eine Karte mit einem Digistamp von Gerda Steiner teilen möchte. Diesen gibt es nämlich noch im Dezember in einem wirklich günstigen Set mit insgesamt 5 Digistamps - einer davon ist allerdings eine Überraschung ;o) Der Elch mit den Kugeln im Geweih hatte es mir von Anfang an angetan und er musste unbedingt noch mit in die Weihnachtsserie:

Christmas isn't far anymore and that is why I wanted to share this card with you featuring a digi stamp by Gerda Steiner Designs. You can buy this stamp plus four others - one of which is a surprise image - in a bundle for a really good price and the images are just too cute. Just as this little reindeer with the Christmas ornaments hanging from its antlers ;o)

Zuerst habe ich das Motiv mit Copics coloriert, das Papier dann auf Kartenbreite zurechtgeschnitten und den Wellenrand gestanzt. Als nächstes habe ich eine Kartenbasis aus rotem Cardstock gefaltet und den Kartenspruch mittig mit Versamark aufgestempelt und anschließend weiß embossed. Die Buchstaben setzen sich so richtig gut von dem dunklen Untergrund ab und der Spruch leuchtet einem fröhlich entgegen ;o)

First I coloured the scene with Copic markers, cut the paper to fit the width of the card base and die cut a scalloped border from the bottom part. Next I used a piece of red cardstock to create a card base, stamped the sentiment on there with Versamark Ink and white heat embossed it. I love how the letters almost shine against the darker background and the cohesive look it creates with all the white paper at the top of the card. ;o)

Um einen Platz zum Schreiben zu haben, habe ich auf die Innenseite noch ein aus weißem Papier gestanztes Rechteck eingeklebt und meine Karte war fertig. Gerne hätte ich über die Lichtbirnen und Weihnachtskugeln noch eine Schicht Glossy Accents gegeben, aber da meine Flasche mal wieder verklebt ist, ging das leider nicht. Stattdessen habe ich Wink of Stelle benutzt, aber wie üblich sieht man das leider auf den Fotos nicht so gut... Ich mag den schlichten Look der Karte super gerne und bin immer noch ganz verliebt in dieses zufrieden grinsende Rentier ;o)

In order to have a place to write on I glued a white scalloped rectangle to the inside of the card base and my card was done. I would have loved to cover the light bulbs and the ornaments with Glossy Accents but the nozzle of my bottle is glued shut again, so I couldn't do that. Instead I used a Wink of Stella to add some glitter, but unfortuanely it doesn't show in the pictures... I really love the simple look of the card and have fallen in love with this cute, grinning reindeer ;o)

Christmas Series Card #5 / Weihnachtsserie Karte #5 (Exploding Box)

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Heute möchte ich euch meinen fünften Beitrag in meiner Weihnachtsserie und gleichzeitig die Karte für die aktuelle Crafty Cardmakers Challenge zeigen. Das Thema lautet "Farbexplosion" und als ich das das erste Mal gelesen hatte, kam mir sofort die Idee eine Art Regenbogenlich mit weihnachtlichen Motiven aus einer Kiste kommen zu lassen:

Today I would like to show you the fifth project of my Christmas Card series and also my card for the newest challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers. The theme is "Explosion of Colour" and when I first read this I had an idea in my mind of a rainbow light coming out of a box carrying all kinds of Christmas images with it:

Zuerst habe ich ein dunkles Papier gesucht, damit die Farben richtig strahlen können und bin in einem 6x6 Papierpack "Silver & Gold" von We R Memory Keepers fündig geworden. Das habe ich mit der Wellenrandstanze ausgestanzt und den Spruch darauf in weiß embossed. Als nächstes habe ich die Box aus Kraft-Papier ausgestanzt und zusammengeklebt.

First I looked for a dark paper, so that the colours would really shine brightly and found the perfect one when  I looked through the "Gold & Silver" paper pad by We R Memory Keepers. Using a scallop rectangle die I die cut it to size and also white embossed the sentiment on it near the bottom. Next I die cut the box from kraft paper and glued it together.

Um den Regenbogen passgenau hinzubekommen, habe ich mein Lineal geschnappt und den Abstand der Öffnung der Kiste gemessen. Auf einem rechteckigen Stück Aquarellpapier habe ich nun einen ca. 1 cm hohen Steg in genau der gemessenen Breite mittig unten  aufgezeichnet und bin dann vom Ende der Linien in die jeweiligen Ecken am oberen Rand einen Strich gezogen. Den Bereich, der ein wenig wie eine stummelige Taschenlampe mit Lichtkegel ausschaut, habe ich mit Zig Markern coloriert, nach dem Trocknen mit den verschiedenen Weihnachtsmotiven embossed und dann ausgeschnitten.

Das Papier für das sollte etwa so aussehen. Der graue Teil muss später weggeschnitten werden. / The paper for the rainbow should look something like this. Cut away the gray area ;o)

In order to have the rainbow at just the right size I took out my ruler and measured the width of the opening of the box. I drew a land (I hope that this is the correct word - I couldn't really find a translation for the word "Steg" that seemed to be a 100% fit...) of the same width as the opening of the box at the bottom of a rectangular piece of watercolour paper. From the end of side of the land (?) I drew a line to the according top corners. I coloured the area, that looks like a very, very short torch with the cone of light coming out of it, in rainbow colours with Zig markers, heat embossed the Christmas images in white over it, once everything was dry and cut it out. 

Das Regenbogenstück habe ich mit der gleichen Stanze, die ich für das schwarze Papier benutzt habe, durch die Big Shot geschickt, damit der Rand oben übereinanderpasst. Die Box inklusive Lichtexplosion habe ich über dem Spruch festgeklebt und mit zwei weiteren Wellenrechtecken habe ich dann die Rückseite der Karte gebastelt. (Wie das geht, habe ich hier beschrieben: klick) Fertig ist die Karte und ich muss sagen, diesen schwarz-bunt Look finde ich richtig gut - sieht so modern aus... Was meint ihr?

I used the same scallop rectangle die on my rainbow piece as I had done to cut the panel, so that the top would match. I adhered the coloured piece to the box first and then added both to the black paper above the sentiment. Using two more die cuts of the same scallop rectangle in white I created the back of the card. (I have explained how that works in a little more detail in this post: click) And my card was done. I have to say I really love this black- multi coloured look - looks kind of modern... What do you think?

Rainbow Flowers

Hallöchen ihr Lieben ;o)

Diesen Stempel von Neat & Tangled wollte ich schon eine ganze Weile haben und endlich konnte ich ihn in meinem Bastelzimmer willkommen heißen. Als erstes hab ich mir gedacht, dass ich wohl noch warten würde, bis ich ihn benutzte, weil es ein herbstliches Design ist und ich im Sommer (und auch nur, wenn jede Woche ein paar sommerliche Stunden bereit hält) wirklich noch nicht an den Herbst denken möchte. Dann hatte ich die Idee. Ich liebe gerade die Regenbogenfarben und dachte mir, ich könnte ja eine bunte Karte daraus machen:

I had an eye on this particular stamp by Neat & Tangled for ages and finally got it. At first I thought, well this is in autumny stamp, right? So what do I do with it in the summer time? Then it hit me. I wanted to create some rainbow coloured leaves and thus came up with this design:

Das ist eine recht ungewöhnliche Karte für mich, finde ich. Wahrscheinlich, weil ich sonst eher selten so starke Kontraste auf meinen Karten habe, aber hier fand ich den schwarz-weiß gestreiften Hintergrund einfach perfekt zu den knalligen Blättern passend. Zuerst habe ich den Stempel mit Versamark auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt und weiß embossed. Coloriert habe ich dann mit je 2 Zig Markern pro Blatt. Als erstes habe ich die dunkelste Farbe an den Außenkanten der Blattsegmente benutzt, dann habe ich mit dem helleren Stift einen Übergang gemalt und zum Schluss habe ich die Farbe mit einem Wassertankpinsel vermalt.

This is quite a different look for me, because of the bold black an white background I think, but I really love how it turned out. I stamped the image with Versamark Ink on some watercolour paper and white heat embossed it. I used two different Zig markers on each leaf: First I used the darkest one at the edges of each segment, then I blended the ink with a lighter shade and lastly used a water brush to lighten the colour towards the outside of the leaf. (Hope that makes sense...)

Nachdem alles getrocknet war, habe ich das "Happy Birthday" auf den freien Streifen gestempelt, das Motiv per Hand ausgeschnitten und mit Abstandshaltern auf das schwarz-weiße Papier geklebt. Um noch ein wenig Farbe auf die Kartenbasis zu bringen, habe ich Enamel Dots in all den Farben, die ich für die Blätter benutzt habe, herausgesucht und um das Aquarellteil heraum verteilt.

After everything had dried stamped the happy birthday to the white strip and fussy cut the whole image out. Next I adhered it to the patterned paper with some foam tape. To add some interest to the black and white parts of the card I scattered enamel dots in rainbow colours around the journaling card.
