Snowflakes at Papercraft Challenge

Heya my dear crafty friends,
today I am back with an inspiration card for Papercraft Challenges. Our theme this time is "Snowflakes" and our kind sponsor is Gerda Steiner Designs. That cute snowman image is one of their digis and if you'd also like to work with it or do like their stamps you should definately play along with us this month. Gerda Steiner Designs offers a $15 gift certificate for the winner of this month' challenge. 

This year I really fell for the combination of blue and purple shades for my Christmas and winter themed cards. It transports a frosty feel that I really like, so I coloured the snowman accordingly. For the shading of the snowman I used Copics in BG11 and BG10 to give it a bit of a rounded appearance and more dimension. The patterned papers I used are from Echo Park "Winter Magic"paper pad and I just adore the colours! To tie it all in I used "Shaded Lilac" Distress Ink on the edge of my card base and also coloured a strip of paper which became the sentiment strip. Lastly I added the snowflakes all over the card to help guide the eye a little and added some glitter glue accents using Nuvo Glitter Drops in the clear version "White Blizzard".

Happy New Year 2020

Heya everyone!

Today I would like to share a "Happy New Year" card with you as my contribution and inspiration to the newest PINspirational challenge. This is our inspiration picture for you:

Please remember, you can go with anything from the picture that inspires you to create a card ;o) For mine I went with the obvious inspiration here and used the cute snowmen by Mama Elephant to send out some New Year's greetings. I love the look of so many of them to cramp into the circle frame to be able to wish the recipient all the best for 2020.

For my card I created a blue background with Distress Oxide Inks and splattered it with Opaque White droplets. Next I stamped a whole bunch of snowflakes in Simon Says Stamp "Fog" ink on to a white cardstock and die cut my panel from it. I wanted a very subtle and non distracting background, but plain white just was too white ;o) The snowman are all shaded with a BG10 and a BG000 marker which doesn't show very much in the picture, but really gives just enough shading in real life to give them a rounded appearance.  Before assembling everything I stamped the greeting on the circle frame and heat embossed it in white to make it stand out and to help the eye by guiding it from the upper left to the lower right of the card. Warm thoughts on a cold day

Hello everyone ;o)

I would like to share my card for the newest challenge for the Crafty Cardmakers with you. The theme is "Winter" so I thought a snowman would be the perfect image for it:

I used a piece of patterned paper for my background and added a very glittery hill to it. The paper is from Simon Says Stamp and has a fantastic shimmery look without leaving pieces of glitter all around it. I love it! 

I cut a long rectangle from some black paper and added my heat embossed sentiment to the left side which I had cut to a flag shape beforehand. Lastly I added the "Starry Frame" and the cute, cuuuute snowman from Paper Smooches.

Ich wollte eine recht schlichte Karte machen und ich finde, das ist mir trotz einiger Elemente und Glitzerrahmen auch gelungen ;o) Die Kartenbasis habe ich mit den Sternen embossed, weil es ohne Hintergrund doch zu langweilig war.

I created a rather simple card, but with a few elements and a fun colour combination I think.  The card base was embossed with stars because it did look a little bit too plain without the embossing.

Christmas Series Card #7 / Weihnachtsserie Karte '7 (Let it Snow Shaker)

Am siebten Tag meiner Serie möchte ich euch eine Karte mit Shaker-Element zeigen, die ich mit Hilfe der "Winter Big Scripty Words" Stempel und Stanzen gemacht habe. Da die Anschaffung der beiden Sets recht kostenspielig ist, habe ich mir gedacht, mache ich eine kleine Miniserie innerhalb der Weihnachtsserie dazu. Heute seht ihr von mir die erste Verwendungsart:

Welcome to the seventh part of my Christmas series. Today I would like to share a card with a shaker element with you for which I have used the "Winter Big Scripty Words" stamps and dies by Lawn Fawn. Because getting both the stamp set and the dies is a bit on the pricy side I thought I would try to use them in as many differents ways as I can think of and so I will have a mini-series within the Christmas Card series showing you how I have used them. And here is my first example:

Zuerst habe ich den Schneemann Jolly gestempelt und ausgemalt. Anschließend habe ich für ihn noch einen schönen weißen Schneehügel und blauen Himmel dazu gemalt. Dann habe ich die Wörter "Let it snow" aus dem Himmel und noch aus 5 Stücken weißem Cardstock ausgestanzt. Diese habe ich zusammen-, ein Stück Plastik oben drüber und das ganze dann hinter das Schneemannpapier geklebt.

I started by colouring the snowman "Jolly" and creating a background for him. Next I die cut the words "Let it snow" from the panel and also 5 times from white cardstock. I glued the pieces together, added a piece of acetate over top and adhered all the layers behind my coloured panel.

Auf ein weiteres weißes Papier habe ich den Spruch in "Navy Blue" von Hero Arts gestempelt. Bevor ich noch irgendwas anderes gemacht habe, habe ich dieses Papier hinter mein coloriertes Teil gehalten und mit Bleistift markiert, wo in etwa ich das Papier später aufkleben muss, damit man den Spruch vollständig lesen kann. Den Shakerteil habe ich mit Hilfe eines winzigkleinen Löffels mit silberfarbenem Glitter gefüllt. Als nächstes trug ich Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue auf die Ränder des bestempelten Papieres und um die Buchstaben des Shakers herum auf, hab das Papier dann vorsichtig aufgelegt. Um zu prüfen, ob der Spruch zentriert hinter der Aussparung war, hab ich von vorne draufgeschaut und noch einen Millimeter korrigiert, bevor ich zufrieden war. Dann hab ich feste zugedrückt, damit der Kleber anzog und der Glitter nicht mehr entkommen konnte. Leider gab es scheinbar doch noch eine kleine undichte Stelle, auf die ich dann aber einfach Tesafilm geklebt habe, um sie zu verschließen.

On yet another piece of white paper I stamped the words in a "Navy Blue" colour by Hero Arts. Before I did anything else, I held this piece behind the shaker and made marks where about it had to be glued down. Next I filled the shaker area with silver glitter, using a tiny, tiny spoon. I used Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue on the edges of the paper with the stamped sentiment and also added a few drops between and around the letters on the shaker part, layed the paper down carefully and flipped the paper over, so that I could see through the window part. I made sure the sentiment was centered and really pressed down, because I didn't want the glitter to get out. There was one tiny part where glitter did escape from, so I took some sellotape to seal it.

Das colorierte Teil habe ich zum Schluss auf eine dunkelblaue Kartenbasis geklebt und noch ein paar weiße Flocken von rechts ins Bild Richtung Jolly hineinfliegen lassen.

I added the panel to a dark blue card base and dabbed some white dots to the right side of the panel, so that it looks like snowing is being blown towards Jolly the snowman.

Christmas Series Card # 12 / Weihnachtsserie Karte # 12 (Winterberry in the City)

"Winterberry" ist dieser niedliche Schneemann aus der Stacey Yacula Serie von Purple Onion Designs und mit ihm wollte ich eine eher untypische Schneemannszene gestalten. Heraus kam diese Karte:

"Winterberry" is this very cute snowman from the Stacey Yacula series over at Purple Onion Designs. I wanted to create a rather non typical snowman scene with him and this is what came out of it:

Als erstes habe ich die Stadt mit schwarzer Tinte auf den grauen Kartenrohling gestempelt und einen Schneehügel aus Transparentpapier zurechtgeschnitten, auf den ich meinen Spruch "Holiday Wishes" ("Weihnachtsgrüße") stempeln konnte. Dazu habe ich Versamark benutzt und weißes Zing!-Embossingpulver von American Crafts. (Ihr werdet feststellen, dass es im Vergleich zu den Schneeflocken leider nicht wirklich weiß ist -also würde ich vermutlich eher zu einem anderen Pulver tendieren, wenn ich die Karte ein zweites Mal machen würde...) 

First I stamped the city scape of London on my grey card base using black ink and I cut a snowy hill from vellum big enough so that I could stamp my sentiment on it. I have used some Versamark Ink and white Zing!- embossing powder by Amercian Crafts. (You might have noticed already that the sentiment isn't really white compared with the snowflakes - so if I ever made another card like this I would definately try a different embossing powder...)

Als nächstes habe ich den Schneemann in Memento "Gray Flannel" gestempelt, mit Copics ausgemalt und ausgeschnitten, damit ich ihn schon mal als Platzhalter auf die Karte legen konnte. Die ausgestanzten Schneeflocken habe ich dann um ihn herum verteilt und nachdem ich mit der Platzierung zufrieden war aufgeklebt. Zum Schluss habe ich "Winterberry" mit Abstandshaltern auf die Karte geklebt.

Next I stamped the snowman in Memento "Gray Flannel", coloured him with Copics and fussy cut him out. I put him down on my card, so that I would know exactly where he would go in the end and placed the snowflakes all around him. When I liked where they wer placed I glued them down using Multi Medium Matte from Ranger and also added "Winterberry" to the card with some foam tapes.

Mit Winterberry ist nun bereits die Hälfte der Weihnachtsserie um - kaum zu fassen, wie schnell das nun ging... Hoffe, ich habe euch auf dem Weg bis hierher schon ein bisschen inspirieren können :o)

Warmest Wishes Snowman Card

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Nach der Sommer-Delfinkarte vom letzten Mal gibt es jetzt doch mal wieder eine Winterkarte. Da ich mich kenne - kurz vor Weihnachten wird es immer eng und stressig - fange ich dieses Jahr mal ein wenig zeitiger mit den Karten für die kalte Jahreszeit an. Und dieser Sketch hat mich zu meiner Karte inspiriert:

Last post's card was a summery dolphin card, but now we need to face the truth: Winter is coming. And because I know myself (too) well - and right before christmas time is rare and it ususally gets stressful - I wanted to start early with my cards for the cold season. This sketch from the MFT Sketch challenge has inspired me to make my card:

Da ich die Idee von einem Schneemann im Aquarelllook schön fand, habe ich ein Stück Aquarellpapier von Tim Holtz und meine Tombowstifte zurecht gelegt. Das Papier von Tim Holtz benutze ich meistens dann, wenn ich weiße Flächen haben möchte, da mein "normales" von Canson leider einen leichten Gelbstich hat. (Falls jemand ein gutes, günstiges und weißes Aquarellpapier empfehlen kann, würde ich mich freuen, wenn ihr mir hier einen Kommentar hinterlassen würdet!) Den Schneemann habe ich mit Antique Linen Distress Ink gestempelt und mit den Tombows immer dort Farbe aufgetragen, wo sie am dunkelsten sein sollte. Mit einem Pinsel und Wasser habe ich dann die Farbe auf der restlichen Fläche verteilt. Für den Hintergrund habe ich Mermaid Lagoon und Chipped Sapphire benutzt. Dazu habe ich die Stempelkissen einfach auf ein Stück Plastik gedrückt, die Farbe mit Wasser verdünnt und mit einem etwas breiteren Pinsel aufgetragen.

I used a sheet of Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock, because I wanted white paper. My usual watercolor paper has kind of an offwhite or vanilla shade which I didn't like for the snowman. I stamped the snowman with Antique Linen Distress Ink and used Tombow markers to color him in. I put some marker down where I wanted the colour to be the darkest and then used a damp brush to pull the colour out to the rest of the area. For the background I used Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire. I pressed the inkpads on some acetate and then used a brush to colour in the area behind that sweet snowman.

Auf ein zweites Blatt Papier habe ich mit der Farbe Tide Pool von Hero Arts das Pulli-Muster aufgestempelt und beide dann mit der Notizblattstanze von Technique Tuesday ausgestanzt. Der weiße Hintergrund der Karte war mir ein wenig zu langweilig, also habe ich einen Embossingfolder benutzt, um die "Schneeflocken" zu prägen. Zum Schluss habe ich noch den Kartengruß mit Versamark auf ein schwarzes Stück Cardstock gestempelt und anschließend weiß embossed.

I stamped the "Sweater Stitch" background stamp on to a second piece of paper in Tide Pool ink from Hero Arts, because that matched the light blue from the snowman's scarf really well and cut both pieces using a die from Technique Tuesday, Because I felt that all the white space on the card was a bit too boring I used an older embossing folder to get the illusion of (admittedly huge) snowflakes in the back. To finish the card of I stamped my greeting in Versamark ink on some black piece of cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
