Happy Easter (and lots of no line colouring)

Hello everyone!
Hope you are all doing great and looking forward to spring with better and warmer weather and flowers and Easter ;o) Over at the Papercraft Challenges blog we chose the theme "Easter" as our new theme for the coming month. This is the card I created for it:

I stamped the image with Ink on 3 Fadout ink and coloured this cute bunny by Gerda Steiner in immediately afterwards. Because, as the name suggests, this ink fades out over time and you won't be able to see the lines any more after a while. 

Next I got started on the background. It was time consuming but a lot of fun. I worked along a course by Sandy Allnock which was very entertaining easy to follow and I must say I really quite like the outcome. I hope you do, too!
After painting the scene for the background all I did was die cut a sentiment (which means Happy Easter in English) and coloured another egg before assembling it all.

Big Hugs - Rainbow Background

Hallo everyone ;o)

I hope you are all doing fine and that you get to enjoy some nice summer days! Today I would love to share this super cute card with you which I made for the new "Create Your Own Background" challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers:

Even though it might look different there were only three Distress Inks involved in creating this background: Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers. I love how you can get a lot more colours simply by overlapping them. It still is magic to me ;o) Once I had the background piece ready I set it aside to let it dry completely and went on die cutting the sentiment three times. I glued the pieces together to make the word die stand out even more. 

In this picture you can see the effect quite well. I am lazy so I usually put "Stick it" behind sentiment dies. Do you glue them together differently? If so I would love to hear which adhesive you use, because all the ones I tried are too runny or too thick when I lay them down and my beloved snail glue doesn't work for me either... Well, back to this card ;o) I had stamped the image in a very light grey and coloured it in a no-line fashion. I thought it would work well on an elephant ;o) I added it to the sentiment strip, added an additional dot detail to the background and my card was done. Have a happy birthday (elephant)

Heya everyone,

just a quick post today because I am late as it is and the last days have been soooo busy - so I hope you'll forgive me if I don't elaborate too much ;o) This is my inspiration card for the newest Papercraft Challenges challenge ;o) The theme is "Spring" and we are kindly sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs:

I printed the digi stamp on Copic paper as a watermark so that I could only barely see the outlines, because I wanted to go with a light, no-line style for the "Spring" theme. After I had coloured everything in and had added a nice grassy hill and blue sky to the image I die cut the scene with a rounded rectangle die.

I chose a yellow paper for my background to draw the eye towards the birdie even more and also added the lovely tall letters by Altenew which I had die cut from a rainbow patterned paper. Interactive birthday card with Donut Treats (Magic Picture Changer)

Heya everyone ;o)

For the "Birthday" themed new challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers I created this card as inspiration:

It doesn't look like very much yet, but if you pull that tab...

the pictures changes to this:

I just love how cute the mouse looks smiling at you from behind the stack of donuts ;o))) To create the card I used the "Magic Picture Changer" die by Lawn Fawn and the Add-on as well. 

As for the ink, I have used the Fadeout Ink-on-3 and love the result. When you stamp it at first you'll have an outlined image and with time this ink fades out to give the impression of no-line-colouring. I am sold on this ink for a no-line look for sure, because it was really easy to colour ;o)

Meine Inspiration hatte ich von dem Hemd des kleinen Cowboys und der Tatsache, dass er ein Junge ist ;o) Viel zu häufig vergesse ich, dass ich gelegentlich auch mal eine Geburtstagskarte für Jungs brauche, also habe ich die Gelegenheit beim Schopf gepackt ;o) Ich habe ein passendes Papier aus einem 6x6 Block von Lawn Fawn gewählt und den niedlichen "Birthday Eli" mit Memento Desert Sand auf Copic freundliches  Papier gestempelt.

I got my inspiration from the little guy's shirt and the fact that he is a boy ;o) Often times I forget to make male birthday cards so I thought this opportunity would be perfect. I chose a piece of patterned paper by Lawn Fawn and stamped the cute "Birthday Eli" (with Desert Sand by Memento to only get a very light outline) on some Copic friendly paper and coloured him in.

Nachdem er fertig coloriert war habe ich ihn ausgeschnitten und ihm noch einen Drop Shadow ausgestanzt. Auf diesen habe ich in mehreren Brauntönen und in weiß viele, viele Punkte getupft, damit es nach einem sandigen Boden ausschaut. Mal was anderes hab ich gedacht ;o) Ich habe Eli so auf der Karte platziert, dass der wunderschöne, große Spruch genug Platz hat und ein paar Sternchen dazugeklebt. Weil mir noch ein Farbtupfer fehlte, habe ich das pinke Herz dazugeklebt und meine Karte war fertig. Ich hoffe, ihr habt Gefallen an dem Inspirationsbild oder Aspekten daraus gefunden und macht mit bei unserer aktuellen Challenge. Habt eine fabelhafte Woche und happy crafting, eure Maike ;o)

Once I had Eli all coloured in I fussy cut him out and also die cut a drop shadow for him to stand on. On it I made many, many little dots in various shades of brown and in white to make it look like a sandy ground. Why? Just for something a little different than usual ;o) I placed Eli on the card so that he and the wonderfully huge sentiment would both have enough room and glued some tiny stars on the card for interest. Because I felt there was still a pop of colour missing from this design I added the pink heart and that finished my card. I hope you are going to join us this fortnight! Hello everyone and goodl morning ;o)

Today is Saturday and this does not only mean, that the weekend is finally here, but also that we have a new challenge for you ate the "Challenge Up Your Life" blog. This time we would like to see projects with all kinds of critters. It doesn't matter wether you use the image of a cat, a dog, a mouse or.... a toucan:

Vielleicht hat die ein oder andere unter euch meine Muttertagskarte von vor ein paar Tagen gesehen? Ich hatte da nämlich seit langer Zeit mal wieder meine Zigs herausgekramt. Die leuchtenden Farben finde ich wirklich wunderschön, aber ich hab mich nie so wirklich an die Stifte dran getraut. Was mir geholfen hat? Das könnt ihr hier nachlesen. ;o) Meinem Tukan wollte ich auch gerne ein so leuchtendes Federkleid malen, also habe ich mich wieder für die Zigs entschieden und dieses Mal für einen No-Line Look. Die Ränder sind leider nicht ganz so klar geworden, wie ich das gern gehabt hätte, weil die starke Struktur vom Papier gegen mich gearbeitet hat. Aber... ich finde den No-Line-Wasserfarbeffekt wirklich super schön und werde weiter üben und auch mal andere Papiere mit den Zigs ausprobieren, um herauszufinden, was am besten funktioniert.

Maybe some of you have seen the Mother's Day card with the crocuses, that I have posted a couple of days ago? (click) I had used my Zig markers again, after having forgotten about them for the longest time and I loved the vibrant look they gave me. I wanted my toucan to have the same vibrant colours, so I used them again, but this time I went for a no-line look. Quite frankly: it took ages and in the close up picture you can see that the edges aren't nearly as clean, as I would like them to be. But... I think no-line watercolour look is absolutely amazing and I will definately try out different papers with the Zigs, to find out which one works best.

Den Hintergrund für die Karte habe ich direkt auf der Kartenbasis gestaltet. Dazu habe ich mit dem Mini Round Ink Blending Tool "Peacock Feathers" Distress Ink aufgetragen und anschließend die Federn mit der gleichen Farbe gestempelt. Normalerweise kann man mit den Distress Inks ja nicht so gut stempeln (finde ich), aber hier haben sie mich wirklich überrascht. Meistens probiere ich das an einer Stelle aus, die man später nicht mehr sehen kann und dieses Mal hatte ich schon gedacht, dass ich mein MISTI rausholen müsste, aber es hat ganz wunderbar geklappt. 

I created the background directly on the card base itself, using a Mini Round Ink Blending Tool and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Next I used the same ink again to stamp the feathers, because I love the tone on tone look it gives. Usually Distress Inks aren't all that great for stamping, but I was really surprised this time. When I remember to do so, I test the stamping on a spot that will be covered later on and I have already seen myself getting out the MISTI to get a crisp image, but the ink worked really well with those feathers from WPlus9.

Frohe Ostern mit Willa / Happy Easter with Willa

Huhu ihr Lieben!
Dieser kleine süße Hase heißt Willa und wie man sieht geht sie gern spazieren ;o) Die Karte habe ich als Inspirationskarte für die neue Herausforderung auf dem Challenge Up Your Life Blog gewerkelt. Das Thema lautet dieses Mal "Häschen":

Hello my dear crafty friends!
May I introduce you to the cute bunny Willa, who loves to be outside and to go for a walk ;o) I made this card for the newest challenge over at the Challenge Up Your Life blog. The topic this time is "bunnies":

Als erstes habe ich den Hintergrund für die Karte gestaltet. Dazu habe ich die Ostereier mit Antique Linen Distress Ink aufgestempelt und mit Copics coloriert. Mit Hilfe der E20er und einem braunen Multi Liner habe ich die Holzstruktur aufgemalt, wobei ich darauf geachtet habe, die obere rechte Ecke heller zu lassen, da ich mir aus der Richtung meine Lichtquelle vorgestellt habe.

I started by creating the Easter egg background. I stamped the eggs with Antique Linen Distress Ink and coloured them using Copic markers. Then I created a paper that looked like wood using E20ies markers and a brown Multi Liner, making sure to leave a highlight at the top right, where I imagined my light source to be.

Mit meinem Skalpellmesser habe ich ein Loch in das Ostereierpapier geschnitten, das groß genug war, dass man es nicht mehr sehen konnte, aber nicht zu groß, damit ich den Rahmen noch darauf festkleben konnte. Aud die Kartenbasis habe ich einen Himmel gewischt (mit dem Ink Blending Tool und einer Wolkenmaske) und 2 Lagen Gras darüber geklebt. Jetzt war es an der Zeit den Spruch zu stempeln und das Papier mit Abstandshaltern aufzukleben. Als letztes habe ich Willa in den Rahmen geklebt. Da ihre Ohren aus dem Rahmen herausschauen und sie als gehendes Häschen gezeichnet wurde, sieht es so aus, als würde sie auf einen zu laufen, wenn man die Karte in den Händen hält.

With the help of my craft knife I cut a hole into the Easter egg panel that was big enough, so that the edges wouldn't be visible, but not too big, so that I would still have enough room for the adhesive. I sponged a sky directly on the card base and added to layers of grass on top. Now it was time to stamp the sentiment and to adhere the panel to the card base using foam tape, to give the card a bit of dimension. Finally I added Willa to the frame. Because her ears are on top of the frame and she is drawn as a walking bunny it actually looks like she is walking towards whoever is holding the card.

Christmas Series Card # 22 / Weihnachtsserie Karte # 22

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Heute habe ich eine meiner Lieblingskarten der Serie für euch. Ich mag sie so gern, weil sie einerseits niedlich ist, andererseits aber auch traditionellen Weihnachtsfarbengehalten ist. :o) Als erstes habe ich selbst ein gemustertes Papier hergestellt, in dem ich mehrere weihnachtliche Motive aus dem "Holiday Party Animal" Set wiederholend gestempelt und mit Copics ausgemalt habe.

Today I'd like to show you one of my favourite cards of this series. I like it so much because it has this cute Santa image on it, which I thoroughly adore and it it kept in traditional Christmas colours, yet a lot of fun I'd say ;o) First I created my own patterned paper by repeatedly stamping Christmas related images from the set "Holiday Party Animal"and colouring them with Copics.

Das Papier habe ich dann auf die gleiche Größe wie meine Kartenbasis geschnitten und das rote und weiße Papier dann darüber geklebt. Als nächstes habe ich den Weihnachtsmann ebenfalls mit Copics ausgemalt und ihm noch ein paar Deteils hinzugefügt, wie zum Beispiel die Schuhbänder oder die Schrift auf dem Wunschzettel, von dem er gerade abliest. Da er noch einen Platz auf der Karte brauchte, habe ich das Oval aus Transparentpapier ausgeschnitten und ihn dann darauf befestigt.

I cut the now patterned paper to the same size as my card base, adhered it and also glued the red and white paper on top of that. Next I coloured sweet Santa with Copics and added a little extra detail to the image like the shoe laces and the word on his list. I felt like he needed something to let him pop more, so I decided to cut out an oval shape from vellum and use that to give Santa a little spotlight.

Zum Schluss habe ich noch einen der schönen Lawn Fawn Rahmen herausgesucht, in den mein Kartenspruch super hineinpasste und auch diesen passend mit Copics bemalt. So passt farblich alles gut zusammen - was ich immer sehr mag - und meine Karte ist fertig ;o)

To finish my card I chose a frame for my sentiment and coloured it with the same green Copics I had used for the little images. Now everything goes together nicely - which I always love - and my card is done ;o)

Christmas Series Card # 18 / Weihnachtsserie Karte # 18 (Card including Christmas Ornament / gift tag)

Ich freu mich immer, wenn eine Karte noch einen weiteren Zweck hat - dann hab ich immer das Gefühl, dass sich die ganze Arbeit noch mehr lohnt ;o) Diese Weihnachtskarte ist eine Karte und außerdem kann sich der Empfänger den kleinen Pinguin auch noch in den Baum hängen oder wenn das nicht ganz passt, ihn als Geschenkanhänger benutzen.

I love when a card serves the recipient twice - then I feel like all the effort one puts into a card is even more worthwhile ;o) This Christmas card is a card (no surprise here) but can be used as a Christmas tree ornament as well. Or even as a gift tag. 

Als erstes habe ich das "Chunky Chevron" aus weißem Papier ausgeschnitten und auf roten Cardstock geklebt. Anschließend habe ich die Stanze noch einmal benutzt und sie aus dem rotem Papier ausgetanzt, damit ich fünf dieser Pfeilformen aufeinander- und anschließend in das mittlere Feld der unteren Reihe kleben konnte. Sozusagen als Stufe für den Anhänger, damit er nicht unten durchrutscht. Als nächstes habe ich die Kugel drei Mal ausgestanzt und eine davon bestempelt und mit Copics coloriert. Die anderen beiden habe ich anschließend dahinter geklebt, damit einerseits die durchgefärbte Rückseite verdeckt ist, andererseits gibt das dem Ganzen noch mehr Stabilität.

First I die cut the "Chunky Chevron" from white cardstock and adhered it over red cardstock. Next I die cut the same die from the red cardstock again and glued five of the arrow-shapes together and adhered them in the middle of the bottom row. This is going to be the stand for the ornament piece, so that it doesn't slide off the card. Now I die cut the ornament three times and stamped the penguin on one of them I coloured him with Copics and then glued all the ornaments together. That way it becomes more sturdy and you can't see any bleeding from the markers. 

Zum Schluss habe ich ein Stück Vellum zurechtgeschnitten und den Gruß darauf in gold embossed. Wie ihr sehr sieht man keine Klebestellen vorne und das kommt daher, dass ich das Transparentpapier so lang gelassen habe, dass ich es auf der Rückseite des Chevronpapiers mit Tesafilm befestigt habe. Der Streifen bietet mir genug Platz für den Raum und ist der Haltegurt für den Pinguin. Jetzt kann ihm wirklich nichts mehr passieren, bis er beim Empfänger ankommt ;o)

I cut a strip of vellum down to about 1 inch and embossed my sentiment ("merry Christmas") in "Liquid Platinum" embossing powder. As you can see you can't see any glue and that is because I left the vellum piece long enough so that I could wrap it around the chevron panel and glue it to the back of it using some sticky tape. The vellum is the perfect place for the greeting and also functions as a band to strap the ornament in securely. I think the penguin will now arrive safely at its new home for christmas ;o)

Christmas Series Card # 12 / Weihnachtsserie Karte # 12 (Winterberry in the City)

Hallo ihr Lieben!

"Winterberry" ist dieser niedliche Schneemann aus der Stacey Yacula Serie von Purple Onion Designs und mit ihm wollte ich eine eher untypische Schneemannszene gestalten. Heraus kam diese Karte:

Hello my dear crafty friends!

"Winterberry" is this very cute snowman from the Stacey Yacula series over at Purple Onion Designs. I wanted to create a rather non typical snowman scene with him and this is what came out of it:

Als erstes habe ich die Stadt mit schwarzer Tinte auf den grauen Kartenrohling gestempelt und einen Schneehügel aus Transparentpapier zurechtgeschnitten, auf den ich meinen Spruch "Holiday Wishes" ("Weihnachtsgrüße") stempeln konnte. Dazu habe ich Versamark benutzt und weißes Zing!-Embossingpulver von American Crafts. (Ihr werdet feststellen, dass es im Vergleich zu den Schneeflocken leider nicht wirklich weiß ist -also würde ich vermutlich eher zu einem anderen Pulver tendieren, wenn ich die Karte ein zweites Mal machen würde...) 

First I stamped the city scape of London on my grey card base using black ink and I cut a snowy hill from vellum big enough so that I could stamp my sentiment on it. I have used some Versamark Ink and white Zing!- embossing powder by Amercian Crafts. (You might have noticed already that the sentiment isn't really white compared with the snowflakes - so if I ever made another card like this I would definately try a different embossing powder...)

Als nächstes habe ich den Schneemann in Memento "Gray Flannel" gestempelt, mit Copics ausgemalt und ausgeschnitten, damit ich ihn schon mal als Platzhalter auf die Karte legen konnte. Die ausgestanzten Schneeflocken habe ich dann um ihn herum verteilt und nachdem ich mit der Platzierung zufrieden war aufgeklebt. Zum Schluss habe ich "Winterberry" mit Abstandshaltern auf die Karte geklebt.

Next I stamped the snowman in Memento "Gray Flannel", coloured him with Copics and fussy cut him out. I put him down on my card, so that I would know exactly where he would go in the end and placed the snowflakes all around him. When I liked where they wer placed I glued them down using Multi Medium Matte from Ranger and also added "Winterberry" to the card with some foam tapes.

Mit Winterberry ist nun bereits die Hälfte der Weihnachtsserie um - kaum zu fassen, wie schnell das nun ging... Hoffe, ich habe euch auf dem Weg bis hierher schon ein bisschen inspirieren können :o)

Heute möchte ich euch eine Karte mit einem der süßen Santas aus dem "Jingle all the Way" Stempelset von MFT zeigen:

Today I would like to show you a card featuring one of the cute Santas from the "Jingle all the Way" stamp set from MFT:

Santa habe ich in "Memento Desert Ink" gestempelt und mit Copics coloriert. Je länger man ihn sich anschaut, desto niedlicher wird er, findet ihr nicht? Für die Karte an sich habe ich das Schneegewimmel so groß gewählt, dass nur ein schmaler weißer Rand der Kartenbasis zu sehen bleibt und außerdem noch zwei Mal das weiße abgerundete Rechteck ausgestanzt. 

I stamped Santa using "Memento Desert Ink" and coloured him in with Copics. I think he gets cuter and cuter the more you look at him, don't you think? I chose to dir cut the patterned snowy paper to a size that there was just a tiny white border visible around it and also die cut the white rectangular shape twice.

Man kann auf dem Foto ganz gut erkennen, dass die roten Streifen nicht auf dem weißen Papier aufliegen, sondern eine Ebene mit ihm bilden. Um diesen Effekt zu erzielen, habe ich das Streifenmuster aus einem der weißen Rechtecke ausgestanzt und danach noch einmal aus einem roten. Dann habe ich das "heile" Rechteck komplett (!) mit Klebe bedeckt und das zweite weiße dann passend darüber gelegt. So konnte ich dann ganz einfach und relativ schnell einfach nur noch die ausgestanzten Streifen nehmen, in die Lücke legen und anpressen. Alles was oben und unten überstand habe ich einfach mit der Schere abgeschnitten.  Zum Schluss habe ich den Kartenspruch in "Liquid Platinum" embossed und die einzelnen Teile zusammengeklebt.

I the picture above you can see that the red strips are not glued on top of the white paper, but in layed into it. In order to achieve this look I die cut the "Air Vent" die from one of the white rectangles and also from a red piece of paper. Next I covered the white panel that I hadn't cut into completely with glue and put the second one on top. That way all I had to do now was to take the individual red strips and place them in an according space and press down a little to make them stick. Some pieces were a bit too long but I simply cut the edges off with my scissors. Before I adhered all pieces together I heat embossed the sentiment using "Liquid Platinum" embossing powder.

Geburtstagskarte mit Pilzen / mushroom birthday card

Am Wochenende ging es zu einer Feier und das Geburtstags"kind" ist ein ausgesprochener Naturliebhaber mit eigenem Garten, der gerne auch schon mal Pilze sammeln geht. Was lag also näher, als ihm eine schlichte Pilzkarte zu machen?

We were invited to a party this weekend and the birthday "boy" is a real nature lover with his own beautiful garden who loves going for walks collecting mushrooms. So what better card to give than one with lots of mushrooms on it?

Als erstes habe ich die Pilze mit Memento "Desert Sand" gestempelt, allerdings habe ich erst den 3. Abdruck verwendet, um nur sehr schwache Umrisse zu erhalten und habe sie mit Copics ausgemalt. Dann habe ich noch  das Gras hinzugefügr und die Szene mit einer rechteckigen Stanze ausgestanzt. Da ich aber noch einen Rand mit roten Streifen hinzufügen wollte, habe ich das Papier mit der gleichen Stanze einfach noch einmal, diesmal aber ein wenig schmaler ausgestanzt.

First I stamped the mushrooms in Memento "Desert sand" using the third generation to get a really faint outline and coloured them in using Copic markers. Next I added the grass and cut out a rectangle from the piece of paper I was working on. However I wanted to have a red striped pattern on the left side, so I used the same die again and cut the piece a little more narrow.

Für meinen Kartenspruch wollte ich einen auffälligen Stempel, also habe ich mich für das Set "Glück ist..." von Create a Smile entschieden. Nachdem ich die roten Streifen gestempelt hatte, habe ich sie ebenfalls mit der Stanze, die ich auch zuvor schon benutzt hatte. Dabei habe ich darauf geachtet, dass ich genügend Platz für die Klebekante zur Verfügung hatte. Zum Schluss habe ich alles mit Abstandshaltern auf die Kartenbasis geklebt und die Fliegenpilzpunkte noch mit Glossy Accents gefüllt.

Now it was time to add the sentiment. I wanted a big and bold one so I chose the sentiment "herzlichen Glückwunsch" ("congratulations") from the "Glück ist..." set by Create a Smile. After stamping the red stripes on another piece of paper I used the same die again and cut off a strip of paper that was big enough to glue it to the mushroom-panel. To finish the card off I glued the panel to a white card base using foam tape and also put Glossy Accents on those little white dots on the red mushroom.

Happy Halloween Witch Magnet

Hallöchen liebe Bastelfreunde!

Kennt ihr das? Ihr verbringt gefühlte Ewigkeiten damit einen Stempelabdruck zu colorieren und dann widerstrebt es euch es "einfach nur" für eine Karte zu nutzen? Meine Lösung dafür ist einen Magnet aus dem Image herzustellen. Hier in diesem Beispiel habe ich die kleine Hexe 5 Mal ausgestanzt und so eine Art Chipboard daraus gemacht. Hinten habe ich einen dünnen Magneten mit Scor-Tape aufgeklebt und auf der Kartenbasis klebt eine Ferritscheibe. So kann die Hexe so lange sie (oder der Empfänger der Karte) will auf der Karte bleiben und wenn es dann Zeit wird, sie wegzustellen, kann der Magnet weiter benutzt werden.

Do you know this? You spent ages and ages colouring an image and then you don't just want to put it on a card, because you don't know what is going to happen to that card once you give it to the recipient? My solution is to make a magnet out of this image. For this card for instance I die cut the with five times and glued all on top of each other to make it very sturdy. I used Scor-Tape to glue a magnet to the back of the die cut pieces and a ferrite disk to glue to the card. This way the witch can stay where she is for as long as she (or the recipient of the card) want and when it is time to pack away the card, they can still use the magnet.

Für die eigentliche Karte habe ich mit der "Fog" Ink von Simon Says verschiedene Halloween bezogene Bilder auf die Kartenfront gestempelt. Danach habe ich 2 Tags aus einem türkisfarbenen Designerpapier aus der "Snap- color vibe" Kollektion gestanzt, ein doppelt gelegtes Stück Garn durchgefädelt, die Schlaufen oben durchgeschnitten und die so entstehenden Fäden geflochten. Damit das Geflochtene halten kann, habe ich ein wenig Multi Medium Matte auf ein Papier gedrückt und dann mit dem Finger vorne und hinten auf das Garn aufgetragen. Vorne habe ich dann noch einmal das gleiche Garn zwischen Papier und dem ursprünglichen Faden durchgezogen und eine Schleife gebunden. Bevor ich die Tags zusammen- und dann aufgeklebt habe, habe ich noch den Spruch "Happy Halloween" vorne in Schwarz aufgestempelt und mit einem klaren Embossingpulver zum Glänzen gebracht.

For the card itself I stamped various Halloween related imaged on the front of the card base using Simon Says "Fog" ink, just to give the background a bit of interest. Then I die cut two tags out of some turquoise designer paper from the "Snap- color vibe" collection, tied a double layered piece of bakers twine through the hole on the top and braided it to make it look a bit different. For it to stay braided I dipped my finger into some Multi Medium Matte glue and run it down the front and back of the twine. Then I threaded another piece through between the paper and the first piece of twine and tied it in a bow. Before I had glued everything together and on top of the cardfront I stamped the sentiment in black ink and added clear embossing powder to it, to give it some shine.

Damit die Karte nicht ganz so leer ausschaut, wenn man die Hexe abnimmt und außerdem um die Ferritscheibe zu verdecken, habe ich einen Kürbis ebenfalls in der No-Line-Technik coloriert und aufgeklebt. Im unteren Bild kann man den Kürbis gerade so erahnen...

Because I didn't want the card to look so empty once the witch was taken off and to hide the ferrite disk I coloured a pumpkins with the same no-line-colouring technique and added it to the tag. In the picture below you can see just a tiny little bit of the pumpkin peeking out from under the little witch...

Warmest Wishes Snowman Card

Nach der Sommer-Delfinkarte vom letzten Mal gibt es jetzt doch mal wieder eine Winterkarte. Da ich mich kenne - kurz vor Weihnachten wird es immer eng und stressig - fange ich dieses Jahr mal ein wenig zeitiger mit den Karten für die kalte Jahreszeit an. Und dieser Sketch hat mich zu meiner Karte inspiriert:

Last post's card was a summery dolphin card, but now we need to face the truth: Winter is coming. And because I know myself (too) well - and right before christmas time is rare and it ususally gets stressful - I wanted to start early with my cards for the cold season. This sketch from the MFT Sketch challenge has inspired me to make my card:

Da ich die Idee von einem Schneemann im Aquarelllook schön fand, habe ich ein Stück Aquarellpapier von Tim Holtz und meine Tombowstifte zurecht gelegt. Das Papier von Tim Holtz benutze ich meistens dann, wenn ich weiße Flächen haben möchte, da mein "normales" von Canson leider einen leichten Gelbstich hat. (Falls jemand ein gutes, günstiges und weißes Aquarellpapier empfehlen kann, würde ich mich freuen, wenn ihr mir hier einen Kommentar hinterlassen würdet!) Den Schneemann habe ich mit Antique Linen Distress Ink gestempelt und mit den Tombows immer dort Farbe aufgetragen, wo sie am dunkelsten sein sollte. Mit einem Pinsel und Wasser habe ich dann die Farbe auf der restlichen Fläche verteilt. Für den Hintergrund habe ich Mermaid Lagoon und Chipped Sapphire benutzt. Dazu habe ich die Stempelkissen einfach auf ein Stück Plastik gedrückt, die Farbe mit Wasser verdünnt und mit einem etwas breiteren Pinsel aufgetragen.

I used a sheet of Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock, because I wanted white paper. My usual watercolor paper has kind of an offwhite or vanilla shade which I didn't like for the snowman. I stamped the snowman with Antique Linen Distress Ink and used Tombow markers to color him in. I put some marker down where I wanted the colour to be the darkest and then used a damp brush to pull the colour out to the rest of the area. For the background I used Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire. I pressed the inkpads on some acetate and then used a brush to colour in the area behind that sweet snowman.

Auf ein zweites Blatt Papier habe ich mit der Farbe Tide Pool von Hero Arts das Pulli-Muster aufgestempelt und beide dann mit der Notizblattstanze von Technique Tuesday ausgestanzt. Der weiße Hintergrund der Karte war mir ein wenig zu langweilig, also habe ich einen Embossingfolder benutzt, um die "Schneeflocken" zu prägen. Zum Schluss habe ich noch den Kartengruß mit Versamark auf ein schwarzes Stück Cardstock gestempelt und anschließend weiß embossed.

I stamped the "Sweater Stitch" background stamp on to a second piece of paper in Tide Pool ink from Hero Arts, because that matched the light blue from the snowman's scarf really well and cut both pieces using a die from Technique Tuesday, Because I felt that all the white space on the card was a bit too boring I used an older embossing folder to get the illusion of (admittedly huge) snowflakes in the back. To finish the card of I stamped my greeting in Versamark ink on some black piece of cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
