Have your cake and eat it too ;o) (Bird)

Heya everyone!

I am back with a card for our newest PINspirational challenge. This is the inspiration picture we have chosen for you this time:

I just love the colours and at first thought I'd create a card using the colour palette, but I also liked the cake and just like too many other times in my life the cake won... Though luckily this sweetness doesn't go straight to the hips ;o) 

I created the front by stamping and masking the bird popping out of the box and next stamping the cake behind that and covered that image with a mask as well to be able to add some colour to the background. Using the same ink (Merman Ink by Lawn Fawn) I also added the bubbles to give the background more interest. Now it was time to remove the masks and to colour in the images with my beloved Copics! The confetti was added last and even though I couldn't have the pieces light yellow, I think it still works this way and saved me a lot of work! 

The images are from a rather new to me stamp set by Lawn Fawn which was created with a magic picture changer in mind. I like that the set has two images, that go together: like the cake with the candles lit and then

someone has blown them out and tried a piece of that cake. So I decided to use the second image on the inside as a little unexpected surprise. Einen wunderschönen Samstag

wünsche ich euch ;o) Ich weiß nicht, wie es euch geht, aber ich bin total bereit für den Frühling, schöne Blumen, wärmere Temperaturen und wieder mehr Farben um mich herum. ;o) Die aktuelle "Anhänger / Tags" Challenge bei Challenge Up Your Life habe ich direkt einmal genutzt und viele, leuchtende Farben benutzt:

I don't know about you, but I am totally ready for spring, flowers, warmer temperatures and more colour around me again;o) The currents "Tags" challenge at Challenge Up Your Life gave me the perfect opportunity to use loads of bright, beautiful colours:

Zuerst habe ich die Tags ausgestanzt und mit Distress Inks in den Farben Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron mit einem ganz klein bisschen Mowed Lawn am Boden, Salty Ocean und Wilted Violet den unteren Teil eingefärbt. Die kleinen Pinguine habe ich anschließend coloriert und auf die Tags geklebt.

I started with die cutting the tags and colouring them with Distress Inks in Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron with just a tiny bit of Mowed Lawn at the bottom, Salty Ocean und Wilted Violet. Next I coloured the little penguins and glued them directly to the tags.

Die Kartenbasis war mir nur in weiß ein wenig zu langweilig, also habe ich mit einer Schablone in ganz dezentem Hellgrau ein Muster aufgetupft und freihand einen Rahmen um die Karte gezogen. Für den Kartenspruch habe ich das "Happy, Happy, Happy..." auf das blaue Tag gestempelt und den Gruß unter den Anhängern zu Ende geführt. Damit war meine Karte fertig und ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr jetzt auch eure Tag-Stanzen herauskramen und daraus eine Karte, ein Layout oder sonst nicht was basteln würdet ;o) Habt ein tolles Wochenende und vielen Dank fürs Vorbauschauen auf meinem Blog! The card base looked a bit plain just in white, so I decided to add a subtle pattern to it using "Fog" Ink by Simon Says and a Stencil by Tim Holtz. I also added a frame around the card by hand. For my sentiment I had decided to start it on the blue tag and let it continue below the row of tags. That was my card done and I would be so happy if I could inspire you to get out your tag dies or stamps as well and create a project and link it to our gallery ;o) Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for visiting my blog! Vom Inspirationsbild habe ich die Farben der Blumen übernommen, der Hintergrund zeigt die wichtigsten Gebäude aus Paris und auch den Kartenspruch habe ich auf die Stadt der Liebe hin ausgesucht - daher die ganz lieben Grüße ;o)

I got the inspiration for the flowers from the inspiration picture, the background shows the most important buildings of Paris and because it is the "City of Love" I chose a sentiment that had the word "liebe" ("love") in it.

Bei der neuen Challenge der Crafty Cardmakers geht es um Karten für Männer. Immer ein schwieriges Unterfangen - zumindest für mich. Ein gutes Rezept ist wie ich finde allerdings eine One-Layer-Karte mit möglichst wenig Schnickedöns, wie man bei mir zu Hause sagt und "männerfreundlichen" Farben. Und hier seht ihr meine Inspirationskarte, die ich nach meinem Männerkarten-Rezept gestrickt habe:

I hope you are having a great Monday so far. There is a new challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers asking for "male cards". Always a difficult task, I feel. My go-to-"recipe" for a male card is a one layer card with little or no embellishment and some man-friendly colours. Here you can see what I made following this male-card-recipe:

Zuerst habe ich den Cupcake gestempelt, mit Copics coloriert und eine Maske für das süße Gebäckstück zurechtgeschnitten. Die brauchte ich, um die Sterne "hinter" den Cupcake zu stempeln und der Karte so optisch noch eine weitere Dimension zu geben. Außerdem habe ich die Sterne schwerpunktmäßig von oben links nach unten rechts verteilt, so dass sie den Blick des Betrachters auf den Kartenspruch lenken.

I stamped the cupcake image, coloured it with Copic markers and fussy cut a mask for it from some masking paper. Next I stamped the stars, to give the card more interest and also to help guide the eye towards the sentiment.

Als erstes habe ich den Spruch mit Memento Tuxedo Black Ink gestempelt (wie auch schon den Rest) und dann habe ich mit der Hilfe des Mistis noch einmal an der gleichen Stelle mit Versamark darüber gestempelt und das "make a wish" mit einem klaren Pulver embosst. So muss ich kein schwarzes Pulver benutzen und bekomme doch den gleichen Look hin.

The sentiment was stamped first in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (like the rest) and then stamped with Versamark Ink - a clear, sticky ink - so that I could heat emboss it with a clear powder. That way I don't get any powder bits on my card, which tends to happen when I want to eliminate the second stamping and use black embossing powder.

Meow or never!

Auf ins Abenteuer! Zumindest ist das genau das, was meine heutige Karte ihrem Empfänger mitteilen soll. Viele meiner Freundinnen sind im Laufe der Jahre ins Ausland gezogen, zwei davon nach Großbritannien und sollte noch eine auf die Idee kommen (was ich allerdings nicht hoffe) bin ich mit dieser Karte darauf gut vorbereitet. Es muss allerdings ja nicht direkt ein Umzug sein, ein Urlaub wäre auch kein schlechter Anlass für diese Karte.

Walk on the wild side! (This is what leo.org came up with when I typed in "Auf ins Abenteuer" and I hope it actually means what I wanted to say...) Walk on the wild side - don't hesitate, be brave... these are possible meanings for my card. You could give it to someone who plans a big trip to a foreign country or when they want to move someplace else. (If any of my friends from outside blogland read this: I'd appreciate if no more of you would move to other countries unless the other country is Germany again. Thank you!) 

Als erstes habe ich den Hintergrund für die Karte gestaltet. Da ich an einen schönen Sonnenuntergang gedacht habe, habe ich folgende Distress Inks herausgesucht: "Tumbled Glass", "Spun Sugar" und "Broken China". Als der Himmel so aussah, wie ich es wollte, habe ich die Londoner Skyline darüber gestempelt und mit einem C3 Copic noch etwas mehr betont.

I started off by creating the background for my card. I was thinking of a lovely sunset when I picked my colours, which were: "Tumbled Glass", "Spun Sugar" and "Broken China". When I had the sky looking like I wanted it to I stamped the London Skyline on top of it and coloured over it with a C3 Copic marker to make it stand out a little bit more. 

Als nächstes habe ich den Rahmen für die Szene ausgestanzt und ihn mit Abstandshaltern auf die Karte geklebt. Die beiden Fähnchen habe ich mit den gleichen Distress Inks eingefärbt, den Spruch darauf gestempelt und sie unter dem Rahmen befestigt. Die Katze - die ursprünglich mal in einem Koffer saß - habe ich mit Copics coloriert, ausgeschnitten und dann so aufgeklebt, dass es ausschaut, als würde sie über den Rahmen hinweg linsen ;o)

Next I die cut a frame for the scene and glued it down using foam tape. I have added my two flags (which I had coloured with the same Distress Inks and stamped the sentiment on) to the frame and also added the little cat. It is the one who originally sits inside the suitcase...

Christmas Series Card # 12 / Weihnachtsserie Karte # 12 (Winterberry in the City)

"Winterberry" ist dieser niedliche Schneemann aus der Stacey Yacula Serie von Purple Onion Designs und mit ihm wollte ich eine eher untypische Schneemannszene gestalten. Heraus kam diese Karte:

"Winterberry" is this very cute snowman from the Stacey Yacula series over at Purple Onion Designs. I wanted to create a rather non typical snowman scene with him and this is what came out of it:

Als erstes habe ich die Stadt mit schwarzer Tinte auf den grauen Kartenrohling gestempelt und einen Schneehügel aus Transparentpapier zurechtgeschnitten, auf den ich meinen Spruch "Holiday Wishes" ("Weihnachtsgrüße") stempeln konnte. Dazu habe ich Versamark benutzt und weißes Zing!-Embossingpulver von American Crafts. (Ihr werdet feststellen, dass es im Vergleich zu den Schneeflocken leider nicht wirklich weiß ist -also würde ich vermutlich eher zu einem anderen Pulver tendieren, wenn ich die Karte ein zweites Mal machen würde...) 

First I stamped the city scape of London on my grey card base using black ink and I cut a snowy hill from vellum big enough so that I could stamp my sentiment on it. I have used some Versamark Ink and white Zing!- embossing powder by Amercian Crafts. (You might have noticed already that the sentiment isn't really white compared with the snowflakes - so if I ever made another card like this I would definately try a different embossing powder...)

Als nächstes habe ich den Schneemann in Memento "Gray Flannel" gestempelt, mit Copics ausgemalt und ausgeschnitten, damit ich ihn schon mal als Platzhalter auf die Karte legen konnte. Die ausgestanzten Schneeflocken habe ich dann um ihn herum verteilt und nachdem ich mit der Platzierung zufrieden war aufgeklebt. Zum Schluss habe ich "Winterberry" mit Abstandshaltern auf die Karte geklebt.

Next I stamped the snowman in Memento "Gray Flannel", coloured him with Copics and fussy cut him out. I put him down on my card, so that I would know exactly where he would go in the end and placed the snowflakes all around him. When I liked where they wer placed I glued them down using Multi Medium Matte from Ranger and also added "Winterberry" to the card with some foam tapes.

Mit Winterberry ist nun bereits die Hälfte der Weihnachtsserie um - kaum zu fassen, wie schnell das nun ging... Hoffe, ich habe euch auf dem Weg bis hierher schon ein bisschen inspirieren können :o)

Ab heute gibt es wieder eine neue Herausforderung auf dem {PIN}spirational Challenge Blog und einem Preis von unserem Sponsor "Fresh Brewed Designs". Seit einiger Zeit ist das Thema Kaffee ja sehr beliebt... Jetzt habe ich mich auch einmal dran gewagt und das ist dabei rausgekommen:

Today starts a new challenge over at the {PIN}spirational blog which is sponsored by "Fresh Brewed Designs". Coffee seems to be a big thing right now and because the inspiration picture shows a lot of mugs I thought I would try my hands on a coffee card. And here is what I came up with:

Für meine Karte habe ich den Digistamp "" ausgedruckt, mit Copics coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Dann habe ich ein Rechteck ausgestanzt, mit Hilfe einer Schablone die Kaffeekringel getupft und mit einer der Stanzen aus dem "Stitched Basic Edges" Set von My Favorite Things die Lücke kreiert. Vorher war es für meinen Geschmack zu unruhig und die Tasse schien irgendwie in der Luft zu hängen. Das Tag für den Kartenspruch habe ich dann an den oberen Rand der gestreiften Isolierung gestempelt und noch ein weiteres Mal auf ein weißes Papier, damit ich es colorieren und ausschneiden konnte. So konnte ich das Tag im unteren Bereich mit einem Glue-Dot ein wenig von der Karte abheben.

For my card I have printed the digistamp called "", coloured it with my Copic markers and fussy cut it out. Next I die cut the stitched rectangle and added some coffee marks through a stencil by Tim Holtz to give it some interest. Now the background looked a little too busy for my taste and so I created that gap using some My Favorite Things dies which also helped to ground the mug on my card. Next I stamped the tag for my sentiment at the upper edge of the striped isolation piece and again on a white piece of paper so I could colour it in and fussy cut it out. I glued the tag in place using some snail adhesive at the top and glue dots at the bottom to give it more dimension.

Congrats - way to go / Glückwunsch - gut gemacht

Ist das zu fassen? Die zwei Wochen sind schon wieder rum und es gibt eine neue Pinspirational Challenge! Dieses Mal haben wir wieder 2 Sponsoren und damit auch wieder die doppelte Chance auf einen Gewinn ;o) Es handelt sich um "The Cutting Cafe" und "The Stamping Boutique"! Und hier ist meine Karte:

Time flies, doesn't it? The last two weeks have gone by so quickly that I can't believe it is time for a new Pinspirational Challenge already ;o) This time we have two sponsors for you again which means double the chance to win some of their great digital stamps. Our sponsors are "The Cutting Cafe" and "The Stamping Boutique"! And this is where inspiration took me:

Ich habe den Hintergrund mit drei verschiedenen Gelbtönen gefärbt und dann einen Stencil von Tim Holtz benutzt, um die Buchstaben am linken Rand aufzutupfen. Als nächstes habe ich die Bücher (von Stampin Boutique) ausgedruckt, koloriert und dann die Eulenbeine daraufgestempelt. Die Eule habe ich dann noch ein zweites Mal auf weißes Papier gestempelt und nur den Körper ausgemalt und ausgeschnitten.

First I inked up the background with three different shades of yellow and used a Tim Holtz stencil to get these letters on the left edge of my card. Next I printed out the books (from Stamping Boutique), coloured them with my Copics and stamped the owl's legs on there, too. I stamped the owl a second time on to white paper and coloured it also with my Copics, but only cut out the body.

Ein drittes Mal habe ich die Eule dann dorthin gestempelt, wo sie am Ende auf der Karte sein sollte, damit auch ihre Haare und Beine zu sehen sind und habe dann sowohl den Eulenkörper als auch die Bücher an die richtige Stelle geklebt. Für meinen Kartenspruch habe ich zwei Tags an den oberen rechten Rand geklebt und auf das oberste das "Congrats" gestempelt und mit weiß embossed. Das Muster, was ihr unter dem Spruch seht sind übrigens die  Hüte, die amerikanische Schüler bei ihrem Abschluss tragen - die habe ich einfach mit Versamark auf die frisch aufgetragene Farbe gestempelt und mit meiner Heatgun erhitzt. (Eine genauere Erklärung findet ihr hier.) Zum Schluss habe ich dann noch Wink of Stelle auf alle Buchstaben im Hintergrund aufgetragen.

I figured out where I wanted to place my owl and stamped it a third time, so that I would have its hair and legs and glued both the owl's body and the books in place. I added two tags to the upper right, after I had stamped and embossed my greeting on the orange one. The pattern you can see on the top tag is made with a hat stamp and Versamark. (If you'd like to see what I did to achieve this look just click here.) Lastly I added some Wink of Stella to all the letters in the background.

Hallöchen! 

Auf geht's ins Wochenende! Natürlich darf da eine fröhliche Karte nicht fehlen, oder? Heute möchte ich euch daher eine Karte zeigen, die ich mit einem Freebie von Create a Smile gestaltet habe. Dieses Monsterchen fand ich schon immer süß und lustig zugleich - also ist es - meiner Meinung nach - genau das richtige Motiv für eine Geburtstagskarte! Bei Create a Smile läuft außerdem gerade auch ein Gastdesigner-Call, bei dem ich mich bewerben möchte :o)

Hello there!

Finally it is friday and the weekend is waiting! So I am showing you a bright and happy card today! I made this card using a freebie from Create a Smile. I had fallen head over heels for this cute and funny little monster even since I first saw him. So he was the perfect image for a birthday card! Create a Smile has a guest-designer call at the moment and I would like to enter my card / my blog ;o)

Für den Hintergrund habe ich die Strahlen gestempelt und mit den Distress-Farben "Lemon Squeeze" und "Peakock Feathers" die Punkte aufs Papier gezaubert, um die Kartenbasis ein bisschen interessanter zu gestalten. Dann habe ich nur noch den Geburtstagsgruß so gestempelt, dass meine beiden Monsterchen bequem darauf stehen konnten. Zum Schluss habe ich die Haare und Punkte der beiden mit dem "Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen" zum Glitzern gebracht und die Augen mit Glossy Accents betont. 

For the background I stamped the beams and added some distress-ink splatters in "Lemon Squeeze" und "Peakock Feathers" in order to create more interest for the card base. I stamped the sentiment, so that the little monsters could stand on it comfortably. After I had glued them down I added some "Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen"to their hair and the dots on their bodies and also put some glossy accents on their eyes.

Das kolorieren war dieses Mal leider nicht so erfolgreich...Verändert habe ich allerdings weder die Stifte, noch meine Technik sondern das Papier. Ich habe extra Marker-Papier gekauft und gedacht, dass ich dadurch meine Copic-Fähigkeiten noch ein bisschen pushen kann, aber weit gefehlt! Die Farben haben sich überhaupt nicht vermischt, wirkten ganz anders und wurden irgendwie auf der Papieroberfläche festgehalten, was der Grund dafür ist, dass man die Strichführung so deutlich sehen kann. Auch, wenn ich wirklich nicht zufrieden mit der Koloration bin, wollte ich diese Karte und meine Erfahrungen mit dem Canson Marker-Papier mit euch teilen. Habt ihr schon mal auf Marker-Papier gemalt? Falls ja, welche Erfahrungen habt ihr gemacht und welches Papier mochtet ihr am liebsten?

One thing I am not so very happy about is my or better the colouring. This was the first time I had used some paper that is meant to be used with markers especially.However I really didn't like it! The colours didn't blend at all because they were kind of trapped on top of the paper which is why you can see all these streaks on the little monster guys. Even though I am not all that happy with the colouring I wanted to share this card and my experiences with the Canson marker paper with you. Have you ever tried colouring on a marker paper? If so, what are your experiences? Which one did you like best?

Heute habe ich eine fröhliche CAS-Karte für euch, die für viele Gelegenheiten geeignet ist: zum Aufheitern, als Dankeschön oder zum Geburtstag.

Today I'd like to show you a cheery CAS card which can be used for different occasions: to make someone smile, as a thank you card or as a birthday card.

Ich habe die 3 Amigos übereinandergestellt und ihnen allen einen Teil des Spruches auf das Blatt gestempelt, das sie in ihren Händen halten. Den Hintergrund habe ich mit dem "Bubble Layering Stencil" von Tim Holtz in "Picked Rasperry" aufgetragen und das Herz anschließend mit der gleichen Farbe ausgemalt. Die drei Tiere habe ich für ein wenig mehr "Umpf" (entschuldigt, mir fällt gerade absolut kein anderes Wort ein...) mit den Abstandshaltern aufgeklebt und das Herz mit Glossy Accents gefüllt.

I placed the three amigos on top of each other's heads, using a little bit of masking, and stamped one part of the sentiment on each of their pieces of paper. The background was created using the "Bubble Layering Stencil" by Tim Holtz in the colour "Picked Rasperry" and I also used this colour on the heart. To have a bit more dimension going on I put the three animals on my card base using some foam tape and added some glossy accents to the heart as well.

Bunte Schmetterlinge / Colourful Butterflies

Hallo zusammen!

Die Idee für diese Karte habe durch eine Karte auf Pinterest bekommen. Dort hat granolagirltoo den Rand einer Karte mit ausgestanzten Herzen beklebt. Ich habe die Idee aufgegriffen und um die gestempelten Schmetterlinge herum geschnitten. Dafür habe ich mit dem Bleistift eine Linie gemalt, die immer circa 2mm neben den Faltern entlang ging.

The idea for today's card comes from a card I saw on Pinterest. Granolagirltoo had used some die cut hearts to embellish the right side of her card base and to create an irregular shape. I took her card as inspiration and cut around the stamped butterflies. But first I used a pencil to draw a line around the butterflies, because I am not very good at free-style fussy cutting.

Auf die Innenseite der Karte habe ich einen schmalen Streifen in einem hellen Grün gestempelt und das Muster und die Farbe für das Tag noch einmal aufgegriffen.

I stamped a narrow green border on the inside of the card and used the same colour and design for the tag as well.

Hallo liebe Mitbastler und Kartenfreunde!Es ist mal wieder Zeit gewesen ein wenig aus meiner Komfortzone herauszukommen und einen anderen Look auszuprobieren. Für diese Karte habe ich zuerst den Hintergrund mit der "Tone on tone"-Technik bestempelt und mit einer weißen Farbe besprüht. Das gibt dem Hintergrund noch ein wenig mehr Dimension und macht ihn interessanter - finde ich ;o) Dann habe ich die Schmetterlinge mit Distress-Inks auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt. Für jeden Falter 2 verschiedene Farben benutzt. Mit einem Pinsel habe ich die Farben dann noch vermalt. Zum Schluss habe ich nur noch das Tag aus dem Papier ausgeschnitten und den Spruch gestempelt.

Heya there dear crafters and friend's of card-making!

It was time to leave my comfort zone and try something different again. For this card I stamped the card base in a "tone on tone - technique" and sprayed it with some white colour mist. In my opinion this gives the background even more interest and dimension. I then stamped the butterflies in distress inks on watercolour paper. For each butterfly I used two different shades of colour. I used a small brush to get the full watercolour effect. At the end I just cut out the tag and stamped the greeting on it. (für dich = for you)

Einen Schritt habe ich noch unterschlagen: Nach dem Trocknen habe ich jeden Schmetterling noch einmal mit Versamark nachgestempelt und ein klares Embossingpulver daraufgestreut. So haben sie richtig Glanz und sehen im wahren Leben wirklich toll aus.

I forgot to mention one step: After the butterflies dried I stamped them in Versamark and used some clear embossing pulver to give those images some shimmer and shine. It looks really gorgeous in real life.
