Huge Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone!
It's time again to be PINspired ;o) This time I went with the overall theme "music" rather than picking an individual design element and created a card with a music note background. This is our newest inspiration picture for you:

I went for a birthday theme and used those cute, big animals by Avery Elle from a set that is retired but still available at some places (like Ellen Hutson - where I will link this set to.) I love those huge critters combined with the tiny birds by the way. What do you think?

I stamped the balloon on patterned paper by Sunny Studio because I love the pattern and the colours and the fact that it gives the card a more fun feeling still. ;o) I hope you are going to join us in our newest challenge! Happy crafting, everyone! Yours Maike

Interactive birthday card with Donut Treats (Magic Picture Changer)

Heya everyone ;o)
For the "Birthday" themed new challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers I created this card as inspiration:

It doesn't look like very much yet, but if you pull that tab...

the pictures changes to this:

I just love how cute the mouse looks smiling at you from behind the stack of donuts ;o))) To create the card I used the "Magic Picture Changer" die by Lawn Fawn and the Add-on as well.
As for the ink, I have used the Fadeout Ink-on-3 and love the result. When you stamp it at first you'll have an outlined image and with time this ink fades out to give the impression of no-line-colouring. I am sold on this ink for a no-line look for sure, because it was really easy to colour ;o)

I would love to see your "Birthday" cards and projects in our gallery at the Crafty Cardmakers! Have a lovely week and happy crafting everyone ;o) Yours Maike

Happy Birthday "Picture" card

Hello everyone!
For the new challenge at Papercraft Challenge we ask for "Ribbons" on your card or project. This is my inspiration for the theme:

I had one of these polaroid pictures prepared on my desk and thought it would be great to have the colours of the collar represented on the card with ribbons.

They help accent the sentiment as well I think. I didn't want the card to be too "empty" so I stencilled some stars on to the card base itself and after adhering the polaroid I also added loads of Nuvo drops to make it even more fun. I hope you are going to grab your ribbons and join us in this challenge! Have a wonderful week and happy crafting, yours Maike

1,2,3 Challenge with a Fox

Hello everyone ;o)
I hope you all had a great weekend! The theme for our new challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers is "1,2,3" and almost as easy as that ;o) We would like to see your creations using 3 of one thing, 2 of another and 1 of a third. For example, 3 patterned papers, 2 diecuts, 1 image. It would be helpful if you could mention in your post what your 3,2,1s are! (I totally stole this explanation from our blog boss Lin - I hope she won't mind!) Here is the card I made:

I am really happy about how it turned out - mostly because I love this cute fox so much I think, but also because the challenge theme really helped me get out of my comfort zone a bit ;o) As for my 1,2,3s: I used 1 large image, 2 patterned papers and 3 sentiment strips.

I hope you are going to join us for this fortnight's challenge and share your work in our gallery! Have a great week and happy crafting my creative friends ;o) Yours Maike

Have a Blast! (Space Explorer)

Heya my friends!
During my vacation a PINspirational Challenge went live that I had a card made for, but never got to share with you on my blog. Before the next one starts on Tuesday I would love to show the cute astronaut with you, though. So here it is:

The background was created using Distress Inks and some Copic Opaque White for the many stars (aka tiny white dots) ;o)

The images are from the awesome set "Space Explorer" by MFT which I have used so often in the past already. (Let me tell you, when I bought the set I thought it would be one I loved but wouldn't get to use often. Well, I am glad that the set turned out so very versatile, because I also love colouring the little astronaut...)

The white frame gave me an ideal spot for the sentiment and I love the dimension the strip of baker's twine gives. I finished the card with some enamel stars and hope you like it as much as I do ;o) Have a lovely Sunday and I hope you had fun if you played along with our last challenge - and if you didn't... there is still a little time ;o)
Happy crafting, everyone ;o))))

I'm not Squidding

Heya my dear crafty friends!
If you have been looking for the new Challenge Up Your Life task last Saturday you might have noticed that there was no new task. This was due to our decision to make CUYL a monthly challenge so more of you get the chance to participate ;o) We hope you are as excited about the change as we are and dive right into our newest challenge themed "Vellum". This is the card I made as an inspiration:

I created a background using Copic refills in various shades of blue on some Yupo paper and I love the look of it. You can achieve such neat looks with alcohol inks that I can promise this won't be the last you'll get to see ;o) I ripped a piece of vellum to get the white looking edge, embossed the sentiment on it and glued it to the back of the Yupo paper so I wouldn't have to use any adhesives at the front. That way I didn't have to worry about the placement of the elements and could just go ahead and put them where I wanted them.

I have combined images from different companies on this card, because I thought they would nonetheless work perfectly together. What do you think? Well, I hope you will join us for this month' challenge and create something awesome with vellum ;o) Have a lovely weekend and happy crafting everybody!!!
