Christmas Series Card # 9 / Weihnachtsserie Karte # 9 (Cookie card)

Halli Hallo ihr Lieben!
Heute möchte ich euch eine Plätzchenkarte zeigen, mit der ich meine süße kleine Nichte zum Backen einladen werde. Ich dachte, dass so etwas auch auf jeden Fall Platz haben sollte in der Vorweihnachtszeit und vielleicht kennt ihr ja auch eine kleine oder große Person, die sich über eine Einladung zum gemeinsamen Plätzchen backen freuen würde.

Today I would like to show you a card that doubles as an invitation to a baking party for my lovely little niece. I thought that baking cookies is so much fun and especially in the days and weeks coming up to christmas. Maybe you also know a little or not so little anymore person who would love to receive an invitation for baking some cookies together. 

Als erstes habe ich den Hintergrund für die Karte gestaltet und dazu Küchen- und Backutensilien in Reihen auf mein Papier gestempelt. Dabei habe ich darauf geachtet zwischen dem Mehl und der Küchenmaschine genug Platz für meinen Kartenspruch zu lassen. Mit Copics aus der E40-Serie habe ich dann den Hintergrund im Ombrelook ausgemalt. Während das alles trocknete habe ich meine Plätzchenszene mit der Dose, der Milch und den Cookies gestaltet. Wenn man eine solche Szene gestaltet ist es am leichtesten, wenn man bereits ein Bild davon im Kopf hat, wie es nachher ausschauen soll. Wenn ich mir das Ganze nicht vorstellen kann, stempel ich alles einfach übereinander - ohne Masking - und nummeriere mir dann die einzelnen Stempelabdrücke durch. Nummer 1 ist das Bild, das im Vordergrund liegt (hier der Keks, denn man vollständig sieht) und die höchste Nummer ist ganz im Hintegrund. (In diesem Fall ist es der Lebkuchenmann hinter der Milchtüte.) So weiß man dann ganz genau, in welcher Reihenfolge man stempeln muss, um das gewünschte Ergebnis zu erhalten.

First I created the background for the card and stamped some items and ingediences you need for baking in rows onto my piece of paper, making sure to leave enough space between the flour and the kitchen machine for the sentiment. Next I used some E40ies Copic markers to fill in the background in an ombre fashion. Now it was time to create my tray with the cookie jar, milk and cookies. When you create a scene like that it is easiest when you have a picture in your head of how you want it to look like. Sometimes it helps me to stamp all the stamps I want to use over each other - without any masking - and then number the items serially from 1 (furthest in the front) to your last item. That way you will know exactly when to stamp which image.

Als ich mit meiner Plätzchenszene zufrieden war, habe ich sie mit Copics coloriert und dann ausgeschnitten. Als nächstes habe ich meinen Spruch "Auf die Plätchen, fertig, los!" mit "Opaque Bright White Super Fine" Pulver von WOW! embossed. Aus dem selbstgestalteten Papier habe ich nun ein Rechteck und zusätzlich noch ein Banner aus Transparentspapier ausgestanz. Jetzt musste ich nur noch alles dort festkleben, wo ich es haben wollte. Ganz zum Schluss habe ich den Lebkuchenmännern noch ein wenig Clear Wink of Stella aufgepinselt und den Rand und das obere Pinöppelchen vom Keksdosendeckel mit Glossy Accents verziert.

Once I was happy with my cookie scene I coloured it in with Copics again and fussy cut it out. I heat embossed the the sentiment "Auf die Plätzchen, fertig, los!" (which is a modification of the German "Auf die Plätze, fertig los -->Ready set go", and also has the word "Plätzchen" in it now, which means cookies) in its designated space on my background and cut it out using a stitched rectangle die. I also die cut a flag shape out of vellum. All that was left to do now was to assemble everything on my card and glue it down. As a finishing touch I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the tiny gingerbread men and also some Glossy Accents to the rim and the top of the cookie jar.

Monstermäßige Weihnachten / Monsterly Christmas

Heute zeige ich euch meinen zweiten Beitrag als Gastdesignerin für den "Challenge Up Your Life" Blog. Das Thema lautet Monster und natürlich denkt man Mitte Oktober als erstes direkt an Halloween. Irgendwie bin ich aber schon so sehr im Weihnachtsfieber, dass ich das Thema weihnachtlich umsetzen wollte. Hier meine Monster-Inspiration:

Today I would like to show you my second card for the "Challenge Up your Life" Blog, where I am the guest designer for October and November. The next challenge will be about "monsters" and of course one would normally think of Halloween cards. However, I seem to be in a very christmas-y (?) mind set at the moment, so I made a monster Christmas card as inspiration:

Das Monsterchen habe ich mit der "Stippling"-Technik koloriert, um es noch ein wenig eigentümlicher aussehen zu lassen. Der Kartenspruch hat mir erst ein wenig Kopfschmerzen bereitet, weil ich ein "Merry Christmas" zu wenig passend für dieses Motiv fand. Dann fiel mir aber ein, dass ich einen Stempel habe, auf dem "Hab dich monstermäßig lieb" steht. Nach ein wenig Stempel-Chirurgie hatte ich das Wort "monstermäßig" freigeschnitten, konnte dann zuerst nur das "e" daraus stempeln und anschließend mit Hilfe meines Stampa-magic den Rest des Wortes so davor stempeln, dass es kaum noch auffällt, dass ich ein wenig getrickst habe ;o)

I coloured the little monster using the "stippling" technique, so that it would look even more peculiar. For the sentiment I had to do a little stamp surgery. My stamp said "Hab dich monstermäßig lieb" (the word monstermäßig can be translated as "like a monster" or "very much", so the sentiment means "I love you very much", but has the word monster in it to correlate with the stamp. I hope my explaination makes sense...) After I had the word "monstermäßig" cut out I stamped only the "e" and then used my Stampa-magic to stamp the whole word next to it. That way it is rather hard to spot, that I had to cheat a little bit ;o)

Um die Karte noch ein wenig interessanter zu gestalten, habe ich auf die Lämpchen und Weihnachtskugeln noch Glossy Accents gegeben und die blauen Streifen sowie die Nase mit "Clear Wink of Stella" zum Glitzern gebracht ;o) Ich hoffe, ich konnte euch "monstermäßig" inspirieren und dass ihr mit einer eurer Monsterkreationen auf dem "Challenge Up Your Life" Blog mitmachen werdet!

The card needed a little extra interest in my eyes, so I added glossy accents to all the christmas lights and the baubles and also added "Clear Wink of Stella" to all the blue parts on the monster. I hope that I could inspire you and that you will show us your monsters over at the "Challenge Up Your Life" blog! Hope to see you there!

Ich wollte euch schnell noch darüber informieren, dass es eine Weihnachtsserie hier auf meinem Blog geben wird. Es wird jede Menge Inspiration für eure Weihnachtskartenproduktion geben!!! Bunte Kommunionskarte

Halli Hallo!

Endlich hat der Frühling auch hier wieder das Sagen ;o)) Ich hoffe, dass ihr dort wo ihr lebt auch die Sonne, die frischen Knospen und das satte Grün genießen könnt! Der Frühling ist ja auch die Zeit für Kommunionen und Konfirmationen. Daher möchte ich auch heute eine Karte zeigen, die ich für eine ganz bezaubernde kleine Dame gemacht habe, die letztes Wochenende ihre Kommunion gefeiert hat.

Spring is finally here - isn't that wonderful? I hope that the sun and all these lovely blooms have come out by now where you live as well! Spring is also the time for the First Holy Communion of many children and here is a card I made for a lovely young lady who celebrated her first Communion last weekend. 

Sie wollte gerne bunte Farben für ihr Fest haben und daher habe ich mich entschieden das auch mit in die Karte aufzunehmen. Zuerst habe ich das Bild von der Kirche gestempelt, es mit meinem Copic Feinliner erweitert und mit den farbigen Copics koloriert. Bevor ich das Papier auf ein Stück Vellum geklebt und beides dann mit Abstandshaltern auf den gestreiften Kartenhintergrund geklebt habe, habe ich noch den Spruch gestempelt. Das Ganze habe ich noch ein zweites Mal gestempelt und diesmal nur das Dach ausgemalt. Das habe ich ausgeschnitten und mit Foampads auf die Kirche geklebt. Ganz zum Schluss habe ich noch Glossy Accents auf alle Fensterflächen aufgetragen, damit es wie Glas ausschaut.

She had chosen a very colourful scheme for her celebration and so I decided to go with it. I stamped, extended and coloured the image with my Copics and added the sentiment. Then I glued the panel with the image on it on a piece of vellum and put of of those pieces on a lovely colourful striped patterned paper with some foam pads. After that was adhered I stamped the image again, but this time I only coloured the roof, fussy cut both pieces out and put them on top of the first image with some glue dots to give it some dimension. As a last finishing touch I put Glossy Accents on top of all the window panes to give them some shine.

For you Butterflies

Hallo liebe Mitbastler und Kartenfreunde!Es ist mal wieder Zeit gewesen ein wenig aus meiner Komfortzone herauszukommen und einen anderen Look auszuprobieren. Für diese Karte habe ich zuerst den Hintergrund mit der "Tone on tone"-Technik bestempelt und mit einer weißen Farbe besprüht. Das gibt dem Hintergrund noch ein wenig mehr Dimension und macht ihn interessanter - finde ich ;o) Dann habe ich die Schmetterlinge mit Distress-Inks auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt. Für jeden Falter 2 verschiedene Farben benutzt. Mit einem Pinsel habe ich die Farben dann noch vermalt. Zum Schluss habe ich nur noch das Tag aus dem Papier ausgeschnitten und den Spruch gestempelt.

It was time to leave my comfort zone and try something different again. For this card I stamped the card base in a "tone on tone - technique" and sprayed it with some white colour mist. In my opinion this gives the background even more interest and dimension. I then stamped the butterflies in distress inks on watercolour paper. For each butterfly I used two different shades of colour. I used a small brush to get the full watercolour effect. At the end I just cut out the tag and stamped the greeting on it. (für dich = for you)

Einen Schritt habe ich noch unterschlagen: Nach dem Trocknen habe ich jeden Schmetterling noch einmal mit Versamark nachgestempelt und ein klares Embossingpulver daraufgestreut. So haben sie richtig Glanz und sehen im wahren Leben wirklich toll aus.

I forgot to mention one step: After the butterflies dried I stamped them in Versamark and used some clear embossing pulver to give those images some shimmer and shine. It looks really gorgeous in real life.

Heute gibt es noch eine zweite Karte, die dem Stempelküche-Challengethema "von Herzen" folgt.

Hello again! Today I'll show you a secons card which was created for the Stempelküche challenge "hearts".

Obwohl sie recht simpel ausschaut, braucht man viele Schritte, bis die Karte fertig ist: den Hintergrund embossen, das Rechteck ausstanzen und mit den Ink-blending tools im Ombrè-Look einfärben, warten bis die Farbe trocken ist (für mich ist das immer der schwerste Teil) und dann mit der Strukturpaste von Wendy Vecchi die Herzen auftragen. Dabei habe ich zum Schluss noch ein wenig von der Tinte untergemischt, die ich für den Hintergrund verwendet habe, damit auch in den Herzen ein Farbverlauf zu sehen ist. Die Katze habe ich gestempelt und dann mit zig kleinen grauen und drei rosa Herzen umgeben, mit einem 1 1/2" Kreisstanzer ausgestanzt und noch einen 1 3/4" Kreis dahintergelegt, damit sie sich noch ein bisschen mehr absetzt. Zum Schluss habe ich noch das "für dich" mit Staz On auf Vellum gestempelt, ausgestanzt und hinter die Kreise geklebt.

This card might look very simple, but there are quite many steps involved: dry embossing of the background, die cutting the rectangle, colouring it with different shades of pink to achieve an ombrè look, waiting until the ink dries (for me this is always the hardest part) and then putting some embossing paste over it. In order to create a colour gradient I mixed some of the ink I used before into the paste for the hearts on the bottom. Next I stamped the cat and surrounded it with loads of light grey hearts and three pink ones, ounched it out using a 1 1/2" circle punch and then punched another circle that was 1 3/4" wide. In the end I stamped "für dich" ("for you") on a piece of vellum and die cut it again to get a flag shape.
