Ja, der Titel stimmt - ich habe mich nicht vertan *grins. Die aktuelle Challenge der Stempelküche verhilft uns Kartenbastlern schon mal zu einem Headstart für unsere Weihnachtskarten. Hab erst einmal die Weihnachtskiste wieder rauskramen müssen und mich irgendwie darauf eingrooven. Dazu hab ich dann vorhin meine Lieblings-Weihnachtshits gehört und da es heute eh mal wieder so wunderbar kalt ist, ging das dann auch recht schnell. Hier meine Karte:

Yes, you read right and I didn't misspell the title for this card *grin. The current challenge for the "Stempelküche" helps us card makers to get a headstart on christmas cards. I had to pull out my christmas box first and then had to listen to some of my favourite christmas songs to get into the groove again. Fortunately (beware of the sarcasm) it is really cold here at the moment, so it didn't take me too long to find my mojo. Here is my card:
Um den Hintergrund zu gestalten habe ich einen Teil aus einem Blatt Papier ausgeschnitten, das die Form des hellblauen Streifens hat. Zuvor hatte ich das Mädchen auf dieses Papier gelegt, um die genaue Form zu ermitteln, die ich für den mittleren Streifen haben wollte. Danach habe ich das gleiche Papier benutzt, um auch die anderen Segmente blau färben zu können. Ich nehme gerade an dem aktuellen Kurs"Mssk-erade" der Online Card Classes teil und hab daher mit den Masken experimentieren wollen.
To create the background I first cut a part out of a bigger sheet of paper that is shaped like the light blue part in the middle. (Before I had put the girl on top of that piece of paper to determine the exact shape I wanted...) Then I used the same paper and the part I cut out to mask off the other blue parts. I am taking part in the newest Online Card Class called "Mask-erade" which is probably why I felt like doing some masking today.
Den Spruch habe ich mit Folie bezogen. Dazu habe ich ihn erst mit Versamark auf den Schneehügel gestempelt, embossed und anschließend mit einem Stück Folie durch mein Laminiergerät geschickt. Leider waren die Buchstaben ein wenig breit und saher lässt sich der Weihnachtsgruß nicht ganz so gut lesen. (Warum ich keinen anderen Spruch gewählt habe? Ganz einfach... ich wollte unbedingt einen haben der mit dem Wort "may" beginnt und das ist der einzige den ich habe.) Nachdem ich alles auf die Kartenbasis aufgeklebt habe, habe ich noch die kleinen Sterne / Schneeflocken mit "Liquid Pearls" in der Farbe Platinum Pearl auf dem hellsten Streifen aufgetragen, damit es aussieht, als würden ihr die Sterne in die Jacke fallen und habe noch mit dem Wink of Stella Glitter Pen ihre Mütze und den Schal zum Glittern gebracht.
I wanted the sentiment to have lots of shimmer so I used foil for it. First I stamped the greeting in Versamark, white embossed it and after the embossing was dry put a piece of foil on top and send it through my laminator. Unfortunately the letters are rather thick, so it is not as legible as I had wanted it to be. (Why I didn't use a different sentiment I hear you asking?! I had chosen this particular greeting because it starts with the word "may" which means "Mai" in German. The Stempelküche challenge is called "Mainachten" which isn't actually a word but the comination of the two words "Mai" (May) and "Weihnachten" (christmas) So I simply had to use this one, because it is the only christmas sentiment I own that starts with the word "may".) After I had assambled the card and glued everything down I added the "Liquid Pearls" in the colour "Platinum Pearls" to the brightest strip of blue, so that it looks like stars or snowflakes were falling into her jacket and also added some clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen to her hat and scarf.
