Sending Birthday Sunshine and Rainbows (Inksmooching)

Heya my dear friends,

today it is time for a new task over at Challenge Up Your Life. This time we would like you to use the "Inksmooching" technique on your project - whether it is a piece of decoration, a layout, a card or whatever you can thing of. This is my inspiration card:

I used four colours of Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, Peacock Feather & Twisted Citron) and placed them all together on a piece of acetate, but leaving a rather big gap between the colours so that I would still have some "wiggle-room". I spritzed the acetate lightly with water and put it down on a piece of watercolour paper. Afterwards I went in with only one colour at a time and added a little bit more texture until I liked the result. Then I adhered the coloured piece of paper behind a die cut frame and added the cute images as well.

When I read the theme of this fortnight's challenge I felt a little uneasy at first, because I usually don't like not having the control over what I do - splatters on a card are the most I do in that category I'd say ;o) However, after creating some ink smooching background I think it is a great starting point for a project at least for me and I will use it more often now! Heya my dear crafty friends!

Time has just been flying by these last two weeks and I forgot to post my card for PINspirational Challenges... This is the inspiration picture:

As you can see I chose the wood as my background and also added those cute images by Purple Onion Designs to reflect the bird house from the picture. 

I added the middle frame with foam tape while the other two are glued directly to the background paper, because I wanted to raise the birds a little bit. To finish the card I added some blue stars and a heart next to the sentiment. Hope you like the card. Again, my apologies for posting this card late! Magical Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone!

With the theme being "Fantasy" for the new Papercraft Challenge I decided on using this "Sweet Dragon" image and the "Blank Book" by "A Day For Daisies" who are sponsoring a $8 prize for their online store. This is the card I made with the two images combined:

I love giving books for birthdays (to people who love to read) and my favourite genre is fantasy, so i thought it would be a perfect opportunity to create a card for such an event. The background was made using Distress Inks and a lovely stencil by Tim Holtz.

After stamping the sentiment I added a few drop of glitter glue to some of the bubbles and my card was done! I hope you are going to join us with a "Fantasy" project as well. Have a fantastic and hopefully sunny week my lovely crafty friends! Happy crafting, yours Maike

Heya everyone ;o)

Winter has been long eneough now, don't you think? So we at Challenge Up Your Life want to see some spring themed projects this time! I decided to create a birthday can with this lovely Penny Black stamp that has so many spring-elements combined:

I cut the coloured piece of paper down and added a metallic blue border around it by swiping the ink pad along the edge of the paper. It does look really cool and shimmery in real life. I added it to a card base that I had created by die cutting the panel piece two times, scoring the one in the back at about 1 inch from the left and gluing them together. Sometimes I really enjoy a different card base, don't you?

Lastly I added the strip of red paper with the white embossed greeting and my card was done. I'd love to see you "Goodbye Winter" card, layout or other project in our gallery at Challenge Up Your life. Hello all!
It is already time for another PINspirational Challenge and as Deanne wrote on the blog "it is a yummy one" ;o) This inspiration picture let's my mouth water and me longing for summer ;o)

I don't own any strawberry stamps or dies, so I let myself be inspired by the colour (pinkish red) and the fun sprinkles which can be found on my piece of background paper. The two cute fairies are from Purple Onion Designs and I love their sweet round faces ;o)

Big Panda Hugs

Hello everyone!

How are you today? I hope you had a good start to the week and are looking for new crafty challenges. I have one for you if you like the colour "Green" which - incidentally - is the theme of the newest task at the Crafty Cardmakers ;o) This is my inspiration card:

Even though I chose to go with pink letters, my card is mostly green and think that the two colours work really well together. I have tried it with green, black and white letters, but the card ended up looking kind of blahhh, so it had to be pink ;o)

Komm Einhorn, wir gehen!

Heya everyone!

"Crazy" ist the new task at Challenge up your Life and this is the card I made for inspiration:

My German sentiment says something like "They are all crazy around here- come on, unicorn, let's go!" and I love it! It makes me smile everytime I read it! ;o) For the background I have used a new stamp of mine by Gummiapan and stamped it in rainbow colour, because rainbows and unicorn simply are awesome together - at least in my world.... 

Also glitter is a super addition for both unicorns and rainbows ;o) So I glittered the mane and the horn to give it a lot of sparkle! I would love to see any "Crazy" projects from you in the Challenge Up Your Life gallery! Until then: have a fantastic weekend and happy crafting, yours Maike
