Frühlingsgrüße / spring greetings

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Das Wetter hier in NRW soll ab morgen leider wieder schlechter werden, deshalb schicke ich euch mit diesem Outdoor-Blumenstrauß schnell noch ein paar Frühlingsgrüße:

The weather here in the North-Rhine region will get rainy and gloomy again (at least so the weather forecast said) after we had some really lovely spring days this past week. However, before we say good bye to the sun and warmth again for a bit I'd like to send you some spring greetings:

Inspiriert hat mich das neuste PINspirational Challenge Bild:
I was inspired to create this card by the newest PINspirational challenge picture:

Die Blumen sind ja klar, aber das Fahrrad hat mich an Radtouren und die an ein schönes Picknick denken lassen. So bin ich dann auf die Idee gekommen einen Tisch mit Blumendeko im Freien als Motiv für meine Karte zu wählen. Ich finde auch, dass es wirklich schön frühlingshaft geworden ist. Woran denkt ihr denn so, wenn ihr meine Karte seht? Biergarten oder euren Balkon?

I guess it is pretty clear where my inspiration for the flowers came from, but for the blanket and the outdoor scene my thoughts kind of went like this: bike, bike tour, outdoors, picknick - ahh have a picknick outside with some flowers as decoration for the table. That is how I came to choose the focal images for the card. For me this card says spring. But how about you, what do you think of, when you see the card? Beer garden or your balcony?

Spring into spring: Have a hoppy day!

Hallo ihr Lieben!
Heute möchte ich euch meine Inspirationskarte für die "Spring into Spring" Challenge bei den Crafty Cardmakers zeigen:

Heya my dear crafty friends!
Today I would like to share my inspiration card for the new "Spring into Spring" challenge at the Crafty Cardmakers with you:

Für die Karte habe ich ein älteres Stempelset von Penny Black benutzt. Es nennt sich "Woodland Friends" und ich fand, dass die Szene mit den beiden Hasen super gut zum Thema passen würde - außerdem sind die zwei echt zu süß ;o) Gestempelt habe ich mit Memento Tuxedo Black Inkund coloriert habe ich dieses Mal wieder mit Copics. Als nächstes habe ich das grüne Papier zurechtgestanzt und dann noch das "Wonky Window" daraus ausgestanzt.

I used an older stamp set by Penny Black called "Woodland Friends" because I thought this cute bunny scene would fit the theme perfectly. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured the everything with Copic markers. Next I die cut a panel from the green paper and die cut the "Wonky Window" from it as well.

Als nächstes habe ich das Fenster auch noch einmal aus weißem PApier ausgestanzt und so zurechgeschnitten, dass ich einen Rahmen erhielt. Die Hasenszene habe ich auf die Kartenbasis geklebt (ich male immer auf einem Extrapapier, damit die Farben nicht auf der Innenseite durchscheinen) und anschließend das grüne Papier mit Abstandshaltern darüber befestigt. Als Spruch habe ich dieses Mal einen Sticker ausgewählt. Diesen habe ich leicht überlappend aufgeklebt. Mit den "Matte Sprinkles" von Doodlebug habe ich die Karte zum Schluss noch etwas bunter gestaltet. Ich hoffe, dass ihr eure Frühlingskreationen mit uns bei den Crafty Cardmakers teilen werdet. Next I die cut the same window from white cardstock and trimmed around the faux stitched line to create a frame for the bunnies. I glued the bunny scene to the card base and added the panel piece with foam tape as well. I have chosen to use a sticker as my sentiment and placed it to the left side of the card in a fashion, that it would overlap the window opening just a little bit. As finishing touches I added some of these super cool "Matte Sprinkles" by Doodlebug Design. Hope you are going to share some of your spring creations with us at the Crafty Cardmakers. Hallo meine Lieben!
Heute möchte ich noch mit euch - leider etwas verspätet - meine Karte für die aktuelle Challenge bei CUYL mit euch teilen. Das Thema lautet dieses Mal "Chevron":

Heya my dear crafty friends!
Today I would like to share with you - unfortunately a little belatedly - my card for the new challenge at CUYL. The theme this time is "Chevron" :

Es ist eine Karte für die Lehramtsanwärterin an meiner Schule, die vor Kurzem sehr erfolgreich ihr zweites Staatsexamen bestanden hat. Das Chevron-Papier habe ich sowohl für den unteren Teil der Karte, als auch für das Banner benutzt. Letzteres habe ich mit Copics noch ein wenig nachschattiert, damit es nicht zu flach im Vergleich mit den süßen Tieren aussieht.

This card was made for the teacher in training at our school who aced her final exam a while ago. I used chevron patterned paper for the bottom part of my card as well as for the banner. For the latter I used Copics to give it a bit more dimension.

Zum Colorieren habe ich Winsor & Newton Wasserfarben benutzt, die weniger deckend sind als zum Beispiel Gansai Tambis und zudem noch sehr gut mit Wasser reagieren - so habe ich die Wolken für den Hintergrund "gemalt". Ich hoffe, euch gefällt die Karte und vielleicht habt ihr ja auch noch Chevron Papier zu Hause im Regal oder gestaltet euer eigenes Muster und teilt euer Werk dann auf Challenge Up Your Life ;o) Habt eine tolle Restwoche und happy crafting ;o)

The colouring medium I used for the rest of the card are Winsor & Newton watercolours. They are less opaque than Gansai Tambi watercolours and they react really well with water - that is how I created the clouds in the background. I hope you like the card and maybe you'll find some chevron paper and show us your card with it. (Or you create your own pattern?!) Happy crafting, everyone ;o)

Fröhliche Weihnachtspinguine / Merry christmas penguins

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Eine Weihnachtskarte? Im März? Jetzt, wo gerade die Sonne raus kommt und wir alle keinen Schnee mehr sehen können? Die Antwort ist ja... und die Erklärung einfach: Ich brauche immer so viele Weihnachtskarten, dass ich unbedingt vorarbeiten muss und ich hoffe, ihr habt nichts dagegen, dass ich Pinguine im Weihnachtslichter mit euch teile auch wenn es gerade draußen anfängt wieder grün zu werden:

A Christmas card? In March? Now, that the sun is showing her lovely face again and none of us wants to see any more snow? The answer is yes... and the explanation rather simple: I always need heaps of Christmas cards, so that I have to start as early as possible and I do hope you don't mind, that I am sharing penguins and Christmas lights with you ;o)

Diese Karte habe ich für die aktuelle "Für Kinder" Challenge auf dem Cards und More Challenge Blog gebastelt und sie war wirklich schnell zu machen. Ich finde diesen Digi von Sparkle N Sprinkle total niedlich, also wollte ich ihn als Fokus für meine Karte haben. Ich habe ihn ausgedruckt und mit Copics coloriert. Danach habe ich dann einen Schneekugel-Rahmen aus blauem und einen etwas größeren aus weißem Papier ausgestanzt und beide über das Bild geklebt. Um das Auge noch mehr auf die Pinguine zu lenken habe ich außerdem eine graue Matte hinzugefügt. Zuletzt habe ich dann noch zwei Tags mit Farben coloriert, die ich auch für das Bild benutzt habe und habe dann den Spruch aufgestempelt. Leider zeigen die Bilder nicht, wie viel Tiefe die verschiedenen Lagen (auch ohne Abstandshalter) geben, aber es macht wirklich einen großen Unterschied finde ich ;o) Ich wünsche euch allen viel Freude beim basteln und hoffe, ihr habt auch Wege gefunden weniger Stress mit Weihnachtskarten zu haben in diesem Jahr ;o)

This card was made for the current "For Kids" challenge at the "Cards und More Challenge blog" and came together quite easily. I love this cute image by Sparkle N Sprinkle, so I wanted to make it the focal point of my card. I printed it out and coloured it with Copics. Nexte I die cut the snow globe shape from the blue and once more from white paper and layered both on top of the image. I matted it with some grey cardstock to match the colour of the penguins and to pull it all together that way. Lastly I coloured two tags with colours I had used in the image, glued them together and stamped the sentiment "Fröhliche Weihnachten" (Merry Christmas) on the top one. Unfortunately the pictures do not really show the dimension that the three layers give, but believe me, it does make a difference ;o) Happy crafting, everyone and I hope you won't get stressed out by making Christmas cards this year ;o)

Endlich Frühling / Finally Spring

Halli Hallo ihr Lieben!

Für die PINspirational Challenge gibt es dieses Mal einen Spruch, der gerade jetzt unglaublich gut passt: "Egal, wie lange der Winter dauert, der Frühling kommt ganz sicher". Und endlich ist es soweit ;o) Bei uns werden die Tage wieder deutlich länger, wir hatten schon ganze Tage ohne Regen und es wird wieder warm!!! Aber bevor ich hier noch anfange Jubelgedichte auf den Frühling zu verfassen zeige ich euch meine Inspirationskarte:

Heya my dear crafty friends!
We have a great idiom (hope that is the right word) for you as inspiration at the PINspirational blog: "No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow." And spring is indeed finally here ;o) The days are getting longer, we had complete days without rain or snow and it is getting warmer!!! However, bevor I get too carried away I'll better go ahead and show you my inspiration card:

Als Idee hatte ich einen Garten voller Blumen im Kopf, aber ich wollte die Kartenfront nicht zu überladen haben, weshalb ich mich für diese Fenstervariante entschieden habe. Als erstes habe ich die Kartenbasis so gefalzt, dass ich drei Teile bekam und habe aus der, die bei der Karte vorne sein würde, die Blume herausgestanzt. Durch die Öffnung hindurch habe ich anschließend gestempelt, um die Stelle auch wirklich zu treffen.

I wanted to create a garden full of flowers, but not have the front of the card too busy, so I thought this window-layout would work great. I started by die cutting the flower from the card base which I had scored to get a trifold-card and stamped the same flower through the opening to get the placement right. 

Die Blume habe ich maskiert und noch viele weitere Blumen und Blätter drum herum gestempelt und anschließend habe ich sie mit Copics coloriert. Nachdem ich damit fertig war, habe ich das Wort "birthday" auf ein weißes Tag gestempelt und es über die Blumen geklebt. Ich wusste, dass ich eine Banderole brauchen würde, um die Karte geschlossen zu halten und diese sollte den ersten Teil des Spruches halten. Dazu habe ich vor dem Zusammenkleben aus der Banderole das Wort "happy" ausgestanzt und mit Papier hinterlegt, dass ich zuvor mit den Grüntönen coloriert habe, die ich bereits für die Gartenszene benutzt hatte. ;o)

I masked the flower off and added a whole lot of other flowers and leaves and coloured all of them with Copic markers. I also added a tag with the word "birthday" over the finished flowers. I knew I would need something to keep the card closed so I decided on a kind of sleeve and I wanted it to show the first part of the sentiment. After I had created the sleeve I die cut the word "happy" from it and glued a piece of paper behind it which I had coloured with the same shades of green that I had used for my flower garden ;o)

Für eine "besondere Frau" lautet das Thema bei den Crafty Cardmakers für die kommenden zwei Wochen. Ich habe dabei an eine Freundin gedacht, der es zur Zeit nicht so gut geht und der ich eine kleine Aufmunterung zusenden möchte:

"For a special woman" is the theme of the new challenge over at the Crafty Cardmakers. When I learned of the theme I thought of a friend who is going through a rough time and I thought I could maybe make her smile with my card:

Zum Colorieren habe ich die Twinkling H²Os und außerdem die sogenannte "Nass in nass - Technik" verwendet. Bei dieser Technik malt man zuerst eine Fläche mit klarem Wasser aus und gibt dann eine Farbe von der einen und eine zweite von der anderen Seite in das Wasser. Auf diese Weise bekommt man einen wirklich schönen Farbübergang zwischen den beiden Farben hin ;o)

I used Twinkling H²Os to colour in the crocuses and also used a technique that I know as the "wet in wet -technique". First you "colour" one area (in this case petal) with plain water and then you add one colour from the bottom and one from the top, that way you get a really great transition between the colours ;o)

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit einer Mischung aus Mawed Lawn und Twisted Citron Distress Inks und viel Wasser auf das Papier gemalt. Sowohl als es noch nass war, als auch im trockenen Zustand, habe ich ein paar Kleckse in den Farben der Krokusse aufgesprenkelt und damit war meine Karte so gut wie fertig. Es fehlte nur noch der süße Spruch und das Zusammenbauen ;o) Ich hoffe, euch gefällt die Karte und auch ihr genießt bereits die ersten Frühlingstage!!!

I created the background using a mixture of Mawed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Inks and a lot of water. I added droplets of colour to it while it was wet and after it had dried using the same colours I had used for the crocuses. Now all I had to do was to die cut the background panel to give it a nice shape and to glue the flowers to the front. I hope you like my card and that you get to enjoy the first days of spring ;o)

Happy Birthday Saurus

Diese Karte ist für die neue CUYL Challenge entstanden. Dieses Mal geht es um "Buchstaben":

This card was made for the new CUYL challenge. This time we would like to see "Letters" on your projects:

Angefangen habe ich mit dem "Happy Birthday" Hintergrundstempel, den ich direkt auf die Kartenbasis gestempelt habe. Als nächstes habe ich einen Kreis aus dem Wölkchenpapier ausgestanzt und weißes Papier so zurechtgeschnitten, dass es genauso breit wie die Kartenbasis, aber nur etwa ein Drittel so hoch ist. Nun brauchte ich noch einen Streifen von dem rosa Papier, dem ich vor dem Zurechtschneiden noch einen schönen Wellen"schnitt" verpasst habe.

To create this card I stamped the "Happy Birthday" background stamp directly on my card base. Next I cut a circle from patterned paper and a piece of white paper that was as wide as the card base but only about a third as high. I also needed a strip of the blush coloured cardstock, but I cut a decorative edge from it before I cut it to size.

Als nächstes kam dann der eigentlich lustige Teil: Das Ausmalen von diesem süßen Saurier, der aus der Feder von Gerda Steiner stammt und Teil des aktuellen Februar / März Digi-Bundles ist. Ich wollte der Haut eine echsenartige Struktur geben, weshalb ich, nachdem ich Schatten und Highlights bereits coloriert hatte, noch einmal jeweils mit einer Nuance dunkler als dem Teil, den ich bearbeiten wollte, kleine v-förmige Muster aufgemalt habe. Ich hoffe, in dem Ausschnitt kann man gut erkennen, was ich meine ;o)

Next came the fun part: I got to colour this cute saurus from the current digi stamp bundle. I wanted to add some texture to its skin, so I coloured it as I usually would, making sure I added the darkest colour where shadows would be and leave highlights where the light would hit. Once I was happy with the result I added tiny little v-shapes to make this cute creature look even more like a saurian. I hope the close-up helps explaining what I mean ;o)

Nachdem ich alle Teile an ihren Platz geklebt hatte, habe ich noch das Wort "HAPPY" mit Stickern in Regenbogenfarben an den Rand des Wolkenpapiers geklebt und den Rest des Spruchs dann unter den Saurier gestempelt. Zum Schluss habe ich noch hellblaue Enalem-Dots um das Wort "birthday" herum verteilt, damit das Auge auch dorthin geleitet wird und es interessanter (und bunter) ausschaut ;o) Ich hoffe, euch gefällt die Karte und freue mich, dass ihr hier auf meinem Blog vorbeigeschaut habt! After I had glued all the pieces to their right space I added the word "HAPPY" using letter stickers in rainbow colours and stamped the rest of the sentiment right below the dinosaur. Lastly I added bright blue enamel dots around the word "birthday" to make it look more interesting. ;o) I hope you like the card and thank you for stopping by!
