Hello everyone and goodl morning ;o)

Today is Saturday and this does not only mean, that the weekend is finally here, but also that we have a new challenge for you ate the "Challenge Up Your Life" blog. This time we would like to see projects with all kinds of critters. It doesn't matter wether you use the image of a cat, a dog, a mouse or.... a toucan:

Vielleicht hat die ein oder andere unter euch meine Muttertagskarte von vor ein paar Tagen gesehen? Ich hatte da nämlich seit langer Zeit mal wieder meine Zigs herausgekramt. Die leuchtenden Farben finde ich wirklich wunderschön, aber ich hab mich nie so wirklich an die Stifte dran getraut. Was mir geholfen hat? Das könnt ihr hier nachlesen. ;o) Meinem Tukan wollte ich auch gerne ein so leuchtendes Federkleid malen, also habe ich mich wieder für die Zigs entschieden und dieses Mal für einen No-Line Look. Die Ränder sind leider nicht ganz so klar geworden, wie ich das gern gehabt hätte, weil die starke Struktur vom Papier gegen mich gearbeitet hat. Aber... ich finde den No-Line-Wasserfarbeffekt wirklich super schön und werde weiter üben und auch mal andere Papiere mit den Zigs ausprobieren, um herauszufinden, was am besten funktioniert.

Maybe some of you have seen the Mother's Day card with the crocuses, that I have posted a couple of days ago? (click) I had used my Zig markers again, after having forgotten about them for the longest time and I loved the vibrant look they gave me. I wanted my toucan to have the same vibrant colours, so I used them again, but this time I went for a no-line look. Quite frankly: it took ages and in the close up picture you can see that the edges aren't nearly as clean, as I would like them to be. But... I think no-line watercolour look is absolutely amazing and I will definately try out different papers with the Zigs, to find out which one works best.

Den Hintergrund für die Karte habe ich direkt auf der Kartenbasis gestaltet. Dazu habe ich mit dem Mini Round Ink Blending Tool "Peacock Feathers" Distress Ink aufgetragen und anschließend die Federn mit der gleichen Farbe gestempelt. Normalerweise kann man mit den Distress Inks ja nicht so gut stempeln (finde ich), aber hier haben sie mich wirklich überrascht. Meistens probiere ich das an einer Stelle aus, die man später nicht mehr sehen kann und dieses Mal hatte ich schon gedacht, dass ich mein MISTI rausholen müsste, aber es hat ganz wunderbar geklappt. 

I created the background directly on the card base itself, using a Mini Round Ink Blending Tool and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Next I used the same ink again to stamp the feathers, because I love the tone on tone look it gives. Usually Distress Inks aren't all that great for stamping, but I was really surprised this time. When I remember to do so, I test the stamping on a spot that will be covered later on and I have already seen myself getting out the MISTI to get a crisp image, but the ink worked really well with those feathers from WPlus9.

Grüner Drache / Green Dragon

Hallöchen ihr Lieben!

Wie geht es euch? Ist bei euch das Wetter auch so furchtbar chaotisch oder habt ihr zumindest ein bisschen Sonnenschein abbekommen dieses Frühjahr?

Nun zu meiner heutigen Karte: Ich wollte unbedingt noch bei der April Challenge des Copic Marker Deutschland Blogs mitmachen und habe es nun nach etwa 2 Wochen geschafft. Das Thema lautet "Grün" und ich kann scheinbar keine grünen Karten *grins. Ich hab ein bisschen geschummelt, aber ich hoffe, dass das trotzdem zählt.

How are you doing? Is the weather as chaotic as it is over here where I live or do you get some spring-appropriate hours of sunshine? I hope you need sun glasses rather than umbrellas wherever you are ;o)

But now on to today's card: I wanted to participate in the current Copic Marker Deutschland challenge, but it took me the longest time to come up with a concept that would (mostly) fit the theme, which is "green". For some reasons I cannot make entirely green cards, I had to cheat a teensy tiny bit. Hope it still counts.

Es gibt nicht viel, was ich euch über die Karte erzählen könnte, also werde ich auch nicht mit zu vielen Details langweilen. Aber ich wollte euch mitteilen, wie sehr ich diese Stanze für das Faux-Stitching im Hintergrund liebe und außerdem, dass ich die Sterne aus einer Farb-Musterkarte aus dem Baumarkt ausgestanzt habe, die ich bei mir noch rumfliegen hatte. Das Grün passte toll zu dem Drachen und die beiden anderen Farben sind einfach perfekt als Akzente.

There is not a whole lot to tell about how I made this card, so I won't bore you with too many details. However I would like to tell you that I love the die for the background stitching detail and also that I die cut the stars from a colour sample card from a hardware store that I had laying around. The green matched my dragon so well and the other two colours were just perfect as accent colours.

Heute habe ich noch einen zweiten Post für euch. Auf dem PINspirational Blog startet heute eine Challenge zum Thema "Muttertag", allerdings könnt ihr euch natürlich wie immer auch von den Farben oder Elementen des Inspirationsbildes inspirieren lassen:

Today I have two posts to share with you. At the PINspirational Blog starts a new challenge today. The picture can inspire you in different ways: theme (Mother's Day), colours or elements:

Für meine Karte habe ich ein paar Kroküsse aufgestempelt und dafür die Masking Technik benutzt, damit es wirklich nach einer kleinen Ansammlung dieser hübschen Frühlingsboten ausschaut. Coloriert habe ich dieses Mal mit den Zig Real Brush Stiften. Ich liebe die leuchtenden Farben von den Zigs, hab aber immer noch Schwierigkeiten im Umgang mit ihnen... Zum Glück ist meine liebe Bastelfreundin Birka ein Naturtalent und sie macht außerdem Videos zu allen möglichen Themen. Nachdem sie letztens ein sehr ausführliches Video zum Thema Zigs veröffentlicht hat, hab ich mich auch noch einmal dran getraut und liebe den Effekt.

For my card I stamped a few crocuses using the masking technique and coloured them in using ZIG Real Brush markers. I love their vibrant colours combined with the watercoloured look, but I still have trouble using them. Fortunately my friend Birka is very talented with them and because she makes great videos for all kind of helpful things, I felt I could give my Zigs another try and love how it turned out.

Die Blumen habe ich nach dem Trocknen einfach mit dieser genialen ovalen Stanze ausgestanzt und mit Abstandshaltern auf ein embosstes weißes Papier geklebt. Dann habe ich das Stück Papier mit dem Wort "Mama" dazu geklebt und noch einige Enamel Dots um die Blumen drum herum verteilt und meine Karte war fertig. Hoffe, sie gefällt euch auch so sehr wie mir ;o) Habt einen wundervollen Tag ;o)

I simply die cut the flowers with this great oval shape and mounted it on a pice of embossed card stock. I added the paper strip with the word "Mama" and also scattered some enamel dots around the flowers and my card was done. Hope you like it as much as I do ;o) Have a great day everyone ;o)

Ich hoffe, ihr hattet einen guten Start in die Woche ;o) Vor einer Weile habe ich ja schon angedeutet, dass mein Leben wieder etwas "hektischer" sein wird. Einerseits wurde letzte Woche meine zweite Nichte geboren - sie ist gesund und wunderschön und alle sind zum Glück wohl auf. Andererseits fordert mich mein Job nun wieder etwas mehr und ich muss die Zeit am Basteltisch wieder etwas mehr einschränken. Was aber nicht heißen soll, dass ich weniger Karten basteln werde. Allerdings werde ich versuchen die Posts ein wenig kürzer zu halten. Sollte ich also einmal etwas auslassen, oder ihr habt eine Frage dazu, wie ich etwas gemacht habe, dann schreibt mir einfach einen Kommentar und ich werde mich bemühen so schnell es geht zu antworten. Ich freu mich eh immer darüber ;o)

Für die Cards und More Challenge geht es dieses Mal um Projekte, bei denen der Fokus auf Stanzteilen liegt. Ich hab mich an die Süße Elefantenstanze von Rayher erinnert und diese Karte gewerkelt:

I hope your week got off to a great start ;o) A while back I wrote, that life got a little more hectic over here and that I would tell you more about it later. Now that it is later, I wanted to share with you that my second niece was born last week and I am happy to say that both the baby and my sister in law are doing great. Also I increased my working hours again, so I will have to use my desk more for other tasks besides crafting again. That doesn't mean, however, that I will be sharing less cards and other projects with you, but that I will try to keep my posts shorter in the future. Writing the posts is the most time consuming part, when it comes to my blog, so I hope you won't mind shorter posts. If I should leave something out that interests you or you have a question, just leave me a comment and I will get back to you as quickly as I can. I love reading your comments by the way and am grateful for each and every one ;o)

For the new Cards und More Challenge I made this birthday card, because we are asking fo projects that focus on die cuts. I remembered this cute elephant die from Rayher I own and knew I wanted to make instantly:

Zuerst habe ich alle Elemente für die Karte ausgestanzt und anschließend die Wörter "Happy" und "Birthday" auf die entsprechenden Teile gestempelt. Um dem Ballon und den Elefanten Farbe zu verleihen habe ich mit einem Ink Blending Toll Farbe aufgetragen und mit passenden Copic Farben die Schattierungen dazu gemalt.

I die cut and then stamped stamped the words "Happy Birthday" and also die cut the other elements for my card. To colour the balloon and the elephant I used my ink blending tool first and afterwards used matching Copic markers for shading.

Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass das Wort "Geburtstag" auf dem weißen Kartenhintergrund nicht genug auffiel, also habe ich die Form des Wortes noch einmal aus grauem Cardstock ausgestanzt und als Schatten dahinergeklebt. So war es direkt viel besser und ich mag, dass das Grau von dem Elefanten so auf der Karte noch einmal auftaucht.

I felt that the word "Birthday" got a little lost, so I die cut the shape of the word again from a dark grey cardstock and used it as a back drop to make it stand out more against the white card base.I liked it a lot better and really like that the colour of the elephant repeats itself.

Well, you should definately hop over to her blog (click), look at her beautiful cards and leave her some birthday wishes ;o) This is the card I made for her and she will hopefully have in her mail box today:

Als erstes habe ich mit dem Stempeln und Colorieren begonnen. Da ich einen girly Look für die Karte wollte, habe ich mich für die Blumen von MFT entschieden. Ausgemalt habe ich sie mit den Stiften aus der R20 Familie von Copics. Ich persönlich liebe ganz besonders rosafarbene und rote Blumen - ich hoffe, Reni auch.

For my card I started by stamping and colouring the flowers. I went for a girly and fun look, so I thought these flowers from MFT were just perfect. I used the R20 Copics family. Personally I am a huge fan of red and pink flowers - I hope Reni is, too. 

Als nächstes habe ich die Blumen mit den "Wonky Stitches Elle-Ments" von Avery Elle ausgestanzt, hab den Kartenspruch dazu gestempelt und dann die plusterigen Pfeile vor das Wort "Birthday" geklebt. Obwohl ich dann noch das rote Papier unter das ausgestanzte Rechteck geklebt habe, hatte ich immer noch das Gefühl, als würde etwas fehlen. Also habe ich rosa und scharze Punkte auf der Karte verteilt. Um alles abzurunden, habe ich alle Blüten mit dem Clear Wink of Stella Glitzerstift bearbeitet. Das sieht toll aus, wenn man die Karte in der Hand hin und her dreht ;o)

Next I die cut the flowers with the "Wonky Stitches Elle-Ments" by Avery Elle, added the sentiment and the puffy red arrows. Even though I added the red paper underneath the white panel, there was still something missing, so I scattered black and pink dots around the focus area. As a finishing touch I added Clear Wink of Stella to all the blooms. Love how it turned out ;o)

Habt ihr schon die süßen (noch fast) neuen Stempel von Neat & Tangled gesehen? Ich hab mich direkt in mehrere Sets verliebt und möchte euch heute die erste Karte mit dem "Itty Bitty Welcoming Committee" zeigen:

Have you seen the latest stamps from Neat & Tangled? I fell in love with quite a few sets to be honest and I would love to show you my first card with the "Itty Bitty Welcoming Committee" set:

Als erstes habe ich das Schaf und den Hasen gestempelt, mit Copics coloriert und mit einer Rahmenstanze von MFT ausgestanzt. Das selbe habe ich noch einmal mit weißem Papier gemacht, um die colorierte Szene einrahmen zu können.

First I stamped and coloured the main image of the set and die cut it with a Mft frame die. I cut the same shape from white paper again to get the white border around my coloured image.

Als nächstes habe ich ein gemustertes Papier auf die Größe der Kartenbasis geschnitten, das gut zu den beiden "Schalträgern" passt und dann die colorierte Szene mit Rahmen leicht schräg aufgeklebt. So sieht es hier irgendwie netter aus, find ich zumindest ;o) Nun musste noch ein weiterer Partygast her, weshalb ich dem Vogel einen Hut in Regenbogenfarben aufgestempelt und ihn auf das Banner gesetzt habe. Und weil es ja eine Geburtstagskarte ist und ich die Farben des Partyhuts noch einmal auftauchen lassen wollte, habe ich einige bunte Enamel-Dots auf der Karte verteilt.

Next I cut a piece of patterned paper to the same size as the card front and adhered the frame and the inside of the frame at a slight angle to give it more interest. Now I added the little birdie with the party hat, becasue I think it is sooo very cute ;o) And just because this is a birthday card I scattered a few enamel dots in different colours around as well.

Ballon Girl (Shaker Card)

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Das Leben hier an meinem Ende der Welt ist gerade etwas hektisch (Näheres kann ich euch vermutlich in meinem nächsten Post berichten), daher zeige ich euch heute nur schnell meine Karte für die neue Challenge bei den Crafty Cardmakers, ohne euch groß zuzuquasseln ;o)

Hello my dear crafty friends!

Life here at my end of the world is rather hectic at the moment (I can hopefully tell you more about it in my next post), so I will show you my card for the Crafty Cardmakers blog without too much gibberish ;o)

Dieses Mal lautet das Thema der Challenge "123", was heißt, auf euren Karten sollen genau 1 Stempelabdruck, 2 verschiedene Design-Papiere und 3 Arten Verzierungen zu finden sein. Ich hoffe, ihr findet alles auf meiner Karte.

The challenge the is "123" which means 1 image, 2 different papers and three types of embellishment. I hope you can find everything on my card. 

Und falls ihr euch wundert, wo mein Kartenspruch ist... ich habe mich dafür entschieden, das Hintergrundpapier vom Shaker "sprechen" zu lassen ;o) Darauf findet man nämlich in vielen verschiedenen Sprachen den Geburtstagsspruch: "Herzlichen Glückwunsch".

And in case you are wondering where my sentiment is... I chose to leave it out, because the background paper of the shaker element says "Happy Birthday" in loads of different languages.

Einen wunderschönen Samstag Morgen wünsche ich euch!

Heute möchte ich mit euch meine Inspirationskarte für den Challenge Up Your Life Blog zeigen, bei dem es in den nächsten zwei Wochen um das Thema "In der Luft" gehen wird. Zuerst hab ich an ein Flugzeug oder einen Vogel gedacht, aber dann ist mir das Digi für die Progressive Challenge von Gerda Steiner Designs eingefallen und ich habe diese Karte gewerkelt:

Today I would like to share with you my inspiration card for the Challenge Up Your Life blog, where the theme for the next fortnight is "In the Air". First I thought of a bird or a plane, but then I remembered the digital stamp I get sent from Gerda Steiner Designs for the "Progressive Challenge" and made this:

Der süße Affe hängt normalerweise an einem Ast, aber ich dachte, ihm gefällt auch sicherlich eine Flugreise mit einem übergroßen Luftballon. Für die Karte habe ich zuerst die Häuser gestempelt, coloriert und anschließend mit einer Msske geschützt, damit ich die Wolken wischen konnte. Als nächstes habe ich den Ballon aus rotem Transparentpapier ausgestanzt und glitzernde Sterne darauf verteilt. Das hat direkt zwei Vorteile: Einerseits sieht es hübsch aus, wenn man die Karte ein wenig hin und her dreht, andererseits bieten die Sterne den perfekten Platz, um den Luftballon "unsichtbar" auf der Karte aufzukleben.

Usually this cute monkey hangs on a branch, but I thought he would surely love to hang from a huge balloon as well ;o) To make this card I first stamped, coloured and then masked the houses to be able to create the clouds for the background. I used a cloud shaped mask and "Tumbled Glass" Distress Ink for it. Next I die cut the balloon shape and scattered some glittery stars on top. This has two advantages: a) it gives a nice shimmer effect, when you turn the card in your hand and b) it gives a place to adhere the balloon without the adhesive showing though.

 

Zum Schluss habe ich dann nur noch den Affen mit einem bisschen Twine am Ballon befestigt, damit er nicht runterfällt und den Spruch auf die Karte geschrieben. Innen könnte jetzt natürlich "Hi" stehen, aber warum sollte der Affe nicht auch vorbeifliegen, um vielleicht zum Geburtstag zu gratulieren?!

To finish the card of I tied the monkey securely to the balloon with some bakers twine and wrote the sentiment. I could simply write "Hi" on the inside of the card, but maybe this cutie even flies by to wish someone a happy birthday?!

Smile Shaker Card

Habt ihr Lust auf eine Mädchen-Shakercard? Ich habe diese Karte für eine liebe Freundin gewerkelt und dachte mir, wer Einhörner mag, der schüttelt bestimmt auch gerne bunte Pailletten durch die Gegend, oder?

How about a girly shaker card today? I made this card for a sweet friend of mine who loves usicorns and thought to myself that people who love unicorns surely love to shake multi coloured sequins around as well, wouldn't you agree?

Als erstes habe ich den Shaker-Teil gebastelt und dafür ein Papier benutzt, das ich mit verschiedenen Distress Inks von rot nach Pink gefärbt habe. Benutzt habe ich dazu folgende Farben:           & Picked Rasberry. Nachdem das Papier getrocknet war habe ich den Smile-Rahmen ausgestanzt und den Kartenspruch unten auf den Rahmen mit Versamark gestempelt und weiß embossed. So war ich schon mal auf der sicheren Seite, was den Spruch anging. Puh ;o) (Falls ihr meinem Blog schon ein wenig länger folgt, wisst ihr ja sicher, dass ich gern schon mal vor lauter Freude über die schönen Motive, den Gruß vergesse...)

First I made the shaker part of the card and used a paper that I had inked from red to pink  using different Distress Ink:        & Picked Raspberry. After the ink had dried I used this very clever smile die from        , stamped the sentiment with Versamark and white heat embossed it afterwards. I was glad I didn't forget the sentiment this time. More often than I would like to admit I forget the sentiment, though usually I find a way to add it later. This time, however, I wanted it like you see it now, and heat embossing on a finished shaker isn't all that easy...

Für den Hintergrund des Shaker-Teils habe ich ein schlichtes Pünktchenpapier benutzt, in dessen linke obere Ecke ich das ausgeschnitte Wolkenschloss geklebt habe. Als nächstes (auch leider ein Schritt, den ich gerne schon mal vergesse) habe ich ein Stück Plastikfolie hinter den Rahmen geklebt und eine doppelte Lage Abstandshalter auf den Rändern angebracht, damit die Pailletten sich frei bewegen können. Dann habe ich die bunten Sequins eingefüllt und den Rücken aufgeklebt.

I have chosen a plain polka dotted paper as my background piece and glued the fuzzy cut castle in the clouds towards the top left of it. Next (another step that I tend to forget) I glued a piece of acetate behind the frame and put a double layer of foam tape along the sides, so that the sequins could move more freely. After I filled the sequinbs in I adhered the background paper. 

Für die Kartenbasis habe ich ein hübschen grau gestreiftes Papier von MFT benutzt, das ich vollflächig aufgeklebt habe. Nun fehlte nur noch das Einhorn und der vordere Teil der Karte war fertig. Um das Thema der Karte innen weiterzuführen, habe ich noch einen Kuchen und        hineingestempelt. Nun gings an's Schütteln ;o)

I cut a piece of pretty gray striped paper from MFT to fit the card front and glued it straight to the card base. Now all that was missing was the cute unicorn with a pink mane and the outside of the card was done. To carry the theme of the card to the inside as well I stamped a cake and          there. Now it was high time to shake it ;o)))

I am back with a second post, because today is the start of a new challenge over at the "Cards und More" challenge blog. We are asking for projects following the new theme "Fantasy" for the next two weeks and you could be the lucky winner of a $15 gift certificate to the online store of our kind sponsor "Aurora Wings". My inspiration cards features their "Dragon Babies" digital stamp:

Zuerst habe ich die Linien mehrmals mit der Delicata Ink in Silber auf meine Kartenbasis gestempelt, weil ich den Schimmer passend zum Thema "Fantasy" fand. Als nächstes habe ich die Drachen ausgedruckt und mit Copics coloriert. Anschließend habe ich die beiden Kleinen und zusätzlich das Wort "Willkommen" ausgestanzt. Das Wort habe ich auf ein Stück schwarzes Papier geklebt und dann noch mit meinem Corner Chomper die sichtbareb Ecken abgerundet.

I stamped the lines repeatedly on my card base using Delicata Silver Ink, because I thought the shimmer would fit with the theme just perfectly. Next I printed the dragon babies and coloured them in using Copic markers. Afterwards I used a die to cut the image out and also die cut the word "Willkommen" ("welcome) from some glitter paper. I adhered the word die to a black piece of paper and rounded the two visible edges with my Corner Chomper.

Daffodil Card / Narzissenkarte

Ist es nicht toll, dass es um uns herum endlich wieder anfängt zu blühen und bunt zu werden? Ich entdecke im Frühling immer wieder neu, wie sehr ich die Sonne und die Farben über den Winter vermisst habe. Passend zum Frühlingswetter gibt es auf dem PINspirational Blog mal wieder eine neue Challenge für euch. Dieses Mal sind gelb-weiße Narzissen auf dem Inspirationsbild zu sehen:

Don't you just love this time of year when all the flowers bloom again and it gets a little warmer outside? When spring comes I get reminded of how much I have missed all the colours and the sun during the winter time.  Our new challenge over at the PINspirational blog fits in with this: we are asking for cards that are inspired by our Pinterest picture which shows some beautiful daffodils in a jar:

Als erstes habe ich die Narzissen und den Spruch gestempelt und coloriert. Als nächstes habe ich sowohl die Blumen, als auch den Bereich für den Gruß maskiert und mit einem großen Hintergrundstempel von My Favrite Things das Karomuster gestempelt. 

I started by stamping and colouring the flowers and the sentiment. Next I masked the daffodils off and also the area for the sentiment and used a large background stamp from My Favorite Things to get the gingham pattern in the back.

Das colorierte Papier habe ich rechteckig ausgestanzt und mit Abstandshaltern auf eine gelbe Kartenbasis geklebt, um die Farbe der Osterglocken so richtig zum Strahlen zu bringen. Zum Schluss habe ich das Wort "Happy" noch mit meinem Clear Wink of Stella "bearbeitet" - leider kommt das auf den Fotos nicht so gut raus.

I die cut a rectangle from the coloured paper and used some foam tape to adhere it on top of a yellow card base. That way the bright colour of the daffodils stands out even more. To finish the card I used some Clear Wink of Stella on the word "Happy" - but unfortunately I couldn't capture the shine on camera...

Meine Geburtstagspost / Cards for my birthday

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Jetzt habt ihr leider eine Weile nichts von mir gehört. Das lag daran, dass ich meinen Geburtstag quasi von morgens bis spät nachts durchgefeiert habe ;o) Und zwar morgens mit dem Öffnen meiner Geburtstagspost und einem wunderbaren Frühstück, ab dem Vormittag konnte man mich mit einem gelben Button an der Jacke durch das Phantasialand laufen sehen und abends war ich bei der Aufzeichnung von "Let's Dance" im Coloneum. Und am Samstag gab es dann leckeren Kuchen, den wir zum ersten Mal dieses Jahr draußen essen konnten und eine Spielsession mit meiner kleinen Nichte. Nun seid ihr sicher ganz gespannt auf meine grandiose Geburtstagspost, oder? Here it is:

Hello my dear crafty friends!

Sorry for being absent for a few days. I had my birthday last week and after opening my mointain of birthday mail, I spent the day at a fun park near Cologne and afterwards I was in the audience from "Let's dance". On Saturday I had my family over and we ate some delicious cake and could even sit in the garden - mind you, that was the first meal we had outside this year. However, I think you might be curious about my birthday mail? Here it is:

Gute Besserungs-Füchse

Für einen Kursleiter musste vor Kurzem schnell eine Genesungskarte her, weil er länger ausfiel, als zuerst erwartet und seine Schüler ihm auf diesem Weg eine gute und schnelle Besserung wünschen wollten:

Last week I needed a card for a course instructor who has been ill for a while now and his students wanted to let him know, that they wish him a speedy recovery.

Ich hab sofort an diese süßen Füchse aus dem "Doctor's Helpers" Set von Create a Smile gedacht.

I thought that these cute foxes from the "Doctor's Helpers" set by Create a Smile was just perfect for the occasion.

Ein passendes Hintergrundpapier habe ich nicht gefunden, also habe ich einfach den kleinen Arztkoffer in diagonalen Linien in einem hellen Grau über die gesamte Kartenbasis gestempelt.

Because I wanted the background to fit in with the rest of the card I decided to make my own patterned paper and simple stamped the little doctor's bag in a light gray diagonally across the cardbase.

Da die Karte ja an einen Mann gehen sollte, habe ich auf zu viel Schnickedöns verzichtet und einfach nur ein Quadrat ausgestanzt, von der unteren rechten Ecke aus ein wenig Tumbled Glass aufgetragen und dann die Füchse so aufgeklebt, dass die Schwanzspitze des einen etwas über den Rand des Papieres hinausragt. Das bricht das Design ein wenig auf und macht es in meinen Augen etwas interessanter ;o) Zuletzt habe ich dann nur noch den Spruch gestempelt und mit einem Fineliner eine schwarze Linie um die Karte herum gezogen.

Because the card was meant for a man I abstained from any embellishments and simply die cut  square which I then inked up from the bottom right using Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. Next i glued the foxes down, so that the end of the tail hung over the edge of the die cut piece. This helps to give the design more interest in my opinion ;o). To finish the card I simply stamped the sentiment and added a black line around the card base using a fine tip marker.

Apron Card

Die Woche startet hier bei mir mit einer Inspirationskarte für die Crafty Cardmakers zum Thema "Shaped Cards" - es geht also um Karten, die eine besondere Form haben. Da ich meine Köche so niedlich finde, dachte ich, ich kombiniere den Chef mit einer Schürzenkarte:

For me this week starts with a new challenge and an inspiration card for the Crafty Cardmakers. This time the topic is "shaped cards" and I thought I would combine one of my cute chef images with an apron shaped card. So here it is:

Nachdem ich meine Silhouette schon eine ganze Weile aus den Augen verloren hatte, habe ich die Kartenbasis und die verschiedenen Elemente für diese Karte ausgeschnitten - oder besser ausschneiden lassen ;o) Bevor ich alles an seinen Platz geklebt habe, hab ich die Küchenwerkzeuge mit Copics coloriert und die Ränder der Tasche mit Tumbled Glass Distress Ink gewischt.

After a long while of abandoning it, I used my Silhouette to cut out the card base and the coordinating elements. Before adhering everything to its place, I coloured the tools using Copic markers and inked the edges of the pocket with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Als nächstes habe ich den süßen Francoise gestempelt, coloriert und ausgeschnitten und ihn dann neben dem Spruch platziert. Zum Abrunden der Karte fehlten jetzt nur noch die Träger für die Schürze, also habe ich ein Stück Bakers Twine durchgefädelt und hinter verknotet.

Next I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the lovely Francoise and placed him next to the sentiment and also threaded a piece of bakers twine through the holes at the top of the apron.
