Lots of texture and why I have been missing for so long...

Heya my dear crafty friends!
Maybe you have wondered where I have been? In the past 6 weeks I have been sick more days than I have been healthy and the last two weeks have been even worse, because I got a nasty case of influenca. Walking ten meters felt like working for a whole day and time passed so slowly that a few minutes felt like hours... That is why I haven't even managed to leave some sign of life here on my blog. It was really terrible and I wish all of you that you are healthy and stay this way! But now to my newest card which I have made for the new "Texture" challenge for the Crafty Cardmakers:

I started by creating an ombre background with different Distress Inks (I believe it was Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple) and set it aside to dry while I coloured the cutie and its log with Copics.

Because the challenge is all about texture I went ahead and dry embossed the background using a diffuser, so that there would still be a smooth square part as well. I added a few water doplets to that part to make it more interesting before drawing a white dash line around it. I cut the panel so that I would have enough room for the sentiment and glued all the pieces to the right place. Lastly I added some enamel dots for even more different textures on my card.
